Chapter 8 The Deceased White Moonlight
How did Fu Jinzhi discover it?
Wen Yao was puzzled, but she retorted defiantly, "Can't I come over if there's nothing wrong?"
"Heh." Fu Jinzhi sneered, crossing his arms, his sarcasm overflowing.
This guy really has no idea how good he is at acting.
Their faces clearly showed they had ulterior motives!
[Host, stop pretending and get to the point.] 8848 had a headache; it couldn't stand watching the male lead, let alone him.
“Um,” Wen Yao leaned closer to Fu Jinzhi, ignoring his cold demeanor, and gently poked his forearm, “I heard yesterday that Fu Yan is sick, shouldn’t we go and see her?”
"Oh, so your niece wants to be filial to her aunt?" Fu Jinzhi was tickled by her cat-like pokes, but she still didn't let it go.
"..." Wen Yao was speechless for a moment. She was usually thick-skinned, but the incident yesterday when her own father caught her in the act made her determined to start anew.
"It's my sister-in-law who cares about her younger sister!"
"Do you have any conscience? Your own sister is sick, and you're still spouting nonsense here."
Fu Jinzhi, who had been falsely accused once again, took a deep breath and reached out to pinch Wen Yao's incessantly chattering mouth. "It's just a minor illness. If it were any more serious, your parents wouldn't be in the mood to attend the birthday party."
"Waaaah!" Wen Yao, whose beak had been pinched into a chicken's mouth, was extremely indignant, her big, watery eyes wide open.
She didn't care, she was going anyway. Who knew what An Rourou would do to Fu Yan?
An Rou Rou is a Breaking Bad master!
Completely charmed by Wen Yao's cute little chick beak, Fu Jinzhi let go of her, his deep, cool voice tinged with helplessness, "Can we go together after I get off work?"
"Okay." Wen Yao calmed down, then forced a cute expression with her bright and charming face. "Then let's add each other on WeChat, Mr. Fu~"
WeChat? Fu Jinzhi was filled with mixed emotions. She had been married for a month and only then realized that she didn't have her husband's WeChat.
What an unfamiliar couple they were.
He picked up his phone from the table, added Wen Yao's friend, and smiled slightly.
Wen Yao's profile picture is a small dog holding a gun, with the words "chicken beep you" written next to it.
The nickname is even more absurd: "Specialist in Curing All Dissent."
It was inexplicable, yet perfectly aligned with Wen Yao's style of doing things.
Having achieved her goal, Wen Yao showed no lingering attachment. She stood up, lightly shook her skirt, and as she turned around, the beautifully draped hem spun in a graceful, flower-like arc, leaving only a faint fragrance for Fu Jinzhi.
"Then you should work hard, honey!"
"I'm going out shopping now, bye-bye~"
She was like a pink hibiscus flower blown by the wind, arriving silently and leaving in a grand manner, not caring about the emotional ripples she might cause.
Fu Jinzhi stood up, his expression returning to its usual calm and indifferent state. He called his assistant to clear the plates, a thought flashing through his mind.
Wen Yao looks great in pink.
Wen Yao thought so too. She tried on another pink dress in the high-end store. It also had a complicated, layered skirt that looked incredibly graceful when she twirled around.
The difference is that this is a fitted short skirt, which better shows off her slender waist and long legs. The cool lighting shines on Wen Yao's already fair skin, making it even more radiant.
She didn't style her hair today; her silky black hair was simply draped over her back, making her look stunning.
"8848, you know what? I've always loved skirts, but I didn't wear one until I entered the book."
【Why?】In 8848's view, humans are creatures with strong desires, and the simpler the wish, the faster it will be fulfilled.
“I’m an orphan, so I didn’t have a choice when I was little. When I grew up, I had to work several jobs a day, so it wasn’t very convenient to wear a skirt.”
Wen Yao smiled and looked at the shop assistant, "Hello, could you please pack this one up as well? Thank you."
"Okay, you're welcome." The shop assistant's tone was friendly and enthusiastic, and she was secretly overjoyed. There was already a stack of clothes that Wen Yao had chosen next to her, which meant another large commission.
"It's great to be beautiful; you look good in anything. You're a natural clothes hanger."
The saleswoman was incredibly sweet-talking. Even if Wen Yao were naturally beautiful and striking, or even if she looked like a monkey, she could still shower Wen Yao with compliments after she bought so many clothes.
"Thank you, you're beautiful too~" Wen Yao winked at the salesperson, swiped her card, and prepared to leave, with her belongings being carried by the silent bodyguard who followed her.
"Oh, it's Miss Wen. I haven't seen you go out in a long time. I thought you were too embarrassed to see people."
The sarcastic voice made Wen Yao raise an eyebrow. She turned around to look at the woman who had appeared out of nowhere: a suit, short hair, and bright red lips.
I recognized him from his eyes; he was a stranger.
So Wen Yao tilted her head, her tone confused, and asked, "Excuse me, who are you?"
Upon hearing Wen Yao's words, the short-haired woman suddenly became angry. Her voice was shrill, "What are you pretending for, Wen Yao? You think you can just pretend to have amnesia after doing something shameful?"
"So many people in the industry know about this, and you pretend you don't know any of them?"
"Heh, even if you pretend you don't know us, we won't forget you."
Da da da da...
Another person jogged over and stopped next to the short-haired woman. "Why are you running so fast all of a sudden..."
Then he looked up and saw Wen Yao, his expression changed, "Wen Yao?"
Well, here comes another stranger.
Wen Yao was filled with melancholy. "8848, being too charming is also a kind of trouble. There are so many people secretly paying attention to me."
[They're probably your former colleagues—cannon fodder. Looks like they're here to cause trouble.] 8848 is increasingly able to ignore Wen Yao's strange remarks.
The new curly-haired woman was more composed than the short-haired woman. She smoothed her hair back and smiled formally at Wen Yao: "Long time no see, shall we grab a drink and catch up?"
Wen Yao was tired from shopping and was just about to find a place to sit down when she heard this. She looked at the curly-haired woman sincerely and asked, "Who's treating?"
The curly-haired woman's smile froze. These were all young ladies from well-off families; no one cared about such a small amount of money. She assumed Wen Yao was deliberately trying to embarrass her. "My treat, is that alright?"
“Sure.” Wen Yao readily accepted the invitation. She really didn’t want to treat someone who seemed to dislike her to food and drinks; she wasn’t going to be a sucker.
Soon, the three of them sat down in a coffee shop. While the short-haired woman and the curly-haired woman were elegantly ordering their food, Wen Yao gestured for her bodyguard to sit at the table next to them.
"Brother, please order whatever you'd like to drink. It's on me."
"You!" The short-haired woman was so angry that she wanted to slam her hand on the table. Why would she hire a bodyguard instead of them? Wasn't that an insult?
If Wen Yao knew what she was thinking, she would definitely answer: This is being thrifty and frugal, saving where you should and spending where you should, without wasting a single penny on your partner.
“You’ve changed a lot.” The curly-haired woman patted the short-haired woman’s arm. The Wen Yao of the past always looked down on hanging out with people like them, and was aloof and arrogant. Now she seemed like a completely different person…
How should I put it? He seems even more irritating than before, when he looked down on people.
"Perhaps it's a change in demeanor after becoming a wife for the first time," Wen Yao replied calmly.
Seeing the sudden change in their expressions, Wen Yao understood that their hostility towards her mostly stemmed from Fu Jinzhi.
The curly-haired woman couldn't hold back any longer. She forced a smile, her eyes piercing Wen Yao like knives. "President Fu is incredibly sought after in the industry. You really have a way of getting this rich husband. I'm so envious. Why can't I be as shameless as you?"
Huh? Is this mocking her for drugging Fu Jin and then being caught in bed with him?
Having prepared herself mentally, Wen Yao was unfazed by the mockery. A slight smile curved her delicate lips, her bright eyes gleamed with undisguised joy, and she responded in a sweet voice:
"Yeah, luckily I'm bold and outgoing, otherwise I'd only be envious of others now~"
The short-haired woman, who had been pinned down by the curly-haired woman, couldn't take it anymore. She suddenly stood up, pointed her finger at Wen Yao's nose, and angrily said, "What do you have to be so proud of? If Ruoruo hadn't left, you wouldn't have had a chance to take advantage of her!"
Is Ruoruo the white moonlight An Ruoruo?
Wen Yao chuckled and swatted the short-haired woman's finger aside. "Why should the living fight with the dead? I'm so grateful she left me with such a wonderful husband."
"If Jinzhi has any needs, I'd love to burn incense for her!"
Unfortunately, offering incense was useless; the white moonlight was only faking her death.
