Chapter 105 Guardian (Part Two)

Tian Yu cooked a bowl of millet porridge and brought it to the door. The servant said that Doctor Li had already examined him and he was fine. Tian Yu nodded, knocked on the door, and waited for a long time without any response. A little worried, Tian Yu gently pushed the door open and went in. She walked to the bedside and saw Zhao Moyan lying on the bed with his eyes closed. Tian Yu gently put down the porridge, squatted down in front of the bed, and reached out to touch Zhao Moyan's forehead. Before her hand could touch his forehead, Zhao Moyan stopped her with his hand. Zhao Moyan opened his eyes, first surprised, then expressionless, and looked at the person in front of him, saying coldly, "Didn't you leave?"

"Go!? Go where? I just had some breakfast with Tangyuan."

After hearing this, Zhao Moyan turned his face away from Tian Yu, remaining calm on the surface, but his mind was in turmoil.

Tian Yu smiled and said, "Are you hungry? I made some porridge, have some."

"No need! I'm not hungry!" Zhao Moyan said, then closed his eyes and stopped looking at Tian Yu. He was afraid that if he looked at her any longer, he would lose control of his emotions.

"Okay, then we'll eat later." Tian Yu sat by the bed and covered him with the blanket, showing no intention of leaving.

"Go back! I'm fine!" Zhao Moyan opened his eyes and turned to look inside.

"Okay, I'll stay outside. Call me if you need anything." Tian Yu had no choice but to get up and leave, seeing Zhao Moyan's indifferent expression. She thought to herself that he was blaming her.

After closing the door, Tian Yu felt dizzy standing outside. Holding onto a nearby pillar, she sat down on the porch to keep watch.

Li Xingyun packed his things and prepared to return to the clinic. When he came out, he saw Tian Yu sitting in front of the door, so he turned his wheelchair over and said, "He should be fine now. I prescribed medicine to be taken three times a day, morning, noon and night. The wound also needs to be dressed regularly every day."

"Okay! I understand." Tian Yu said, looking up at Li Xingyun without getting up.

"Then I'll head back now; I have other matters to attend to at the clinic."

"Okay, I'll see you out." Tian Yu said, getting up to stand up.

"No need, you can stay here and watch over him!"

After Li Xingyun finished speaking, he saw Tian Yu stand up and then sit down again, covered in a cold sweat. Seeing that something was wrong, Li Xingyun quickly had the servants behind him push him to Tian Yu's side and shouted, "Tian Yu! What's wrong with you?"

"Brother! I'm fine, keep your voice down so as not to disturb him," Tian Yu said weakly, giving Li Xingyun a smile. Li Xingyun took Tian Yu's hand and felt her pulse.

Zhao Moyan, who was inside the room, didn't want to pay attention to the noise outside, but when he heard Li Xingyun shouting, he panicked and got out of bed, but collapsed after taking only a few steps.

Li Xingyun was taking Tian Yu's pulse when she heard a noise coming from the room. Startled, Tian Yu disregarded her discomfort and immediately stood up and rushed into the room. Seeing Zhao Moyan lying on the ground, Tian Yu knelt down to help him up. Zhao Moyan clutched his chest wound and asked, "What happened to you?"

"I'm fine, why did you get out of bed?" Tian Yu said anxiously, trying to help him up, but she wasn't strong enough, so she shouted outside, "Help! Someone come quick!"

Two servants helped Zhao Moyan to the bed and sat him up against the pillows. Tian Yu stayed by his side, telling them to be gentle. Li Xingyun, sitting in his wheelchair, couldn't help much. After Tian Yu finished, she instructed, "Both of you take it easy and rest well. Tian Yu, remember to eat and sleep. Don't let the Marquis recover and you fall ill again. If there's nothing else, I'll go back now." She shook her head and dismissed the servants.

Tian Yu looked at Zhao Moyan and said with a smile, "I'm fine, don't listen to his nonsense. Are you hungry? Have some porridge!"

Tian Yu picked up the porridge from the bedside table, scooped a spoonful, and fed it to Zhao Moyan. Zhao Moyan stared intently at Tian Yu and asked, "Have you eaten?"

“I’ve already eaten. I didn’t tell you that I just ate with Tangyuan,” Tian Yu immediately explained.

Zhao Moyan then opened his mouth and ate the rice porridge that Tian Yu fed him. He didn't say anything and just ate one spoonful after another that Tian Yu fed him.

After feeding the rice porridge, Qiuju brought up the medicine she had prepared. Tianyu told her to put it down and give it to Zhao Moyan later. After giving her these instructions, Tianyu got up to leave, but Zhao Moyan grabbed her hand and asked, "Where are you going?"

"I'm going out for a bit, I'll be right back." Tian Yu said and hurriedly ran out. As soon as she reached the door, she couldn't help but bend over and clutch her stomach. Qiu Ju followed and helped Tian Yu up, asking, "Madam, what's wrong? You look so pale."

"It's nothing, I just have my period and my stomach hurts. You go back and keep an eye on the Marquis, I'll be back in a bit," Tian Yu waved her hand and said in a low voice.

Qiuju returned to the room and looked at Zhao Moyan, not knowing how to explain. The Marquis asked her to check on the Madam, but how could she bring it up? She stammered, "Madam stayed by the Marquis's side all night and wasn't feeling well, so... so she felt a little weak."

Zhao Moyan had already heard it, and waved his hand, saying, "I understand, you can go now!"

"Yes, Lord Marquis." Qiu Ju breathed a sigh of relief and quickly withdrew.

Zhao Moyan sat on the bed, looking towards the door. Now that everyone else was in the room, a different emotion finally surfaced in his eyes. He wanted to see Tian Yu, yet he didn't want to see her. He wanted her to leave, yet he couldn't bear to. He had witnessed everything between her and Chen Chong yesterday. He tried to let go, imagining countless times what he would do if Tian Yu and Chen Chong left him. He thought he could let go if Tian Yu was willing, but when it actually happened, he found he couldn't. Lost in thought, the door opened. For a moment, he thought it was Tian Yu, and felt a surge of excitement. But seeing it was Li Yong, he felt a pang of disappointment. Li Yong had knocked but heard no sound, assuming Zhao Moyan was asleep, so he pushed the door open. Seeing Zhao Moyan was awake, he happily went to the bedside and said, "Big brother, you're awake! That's great!"

What's the situation in the military camp?

"Don't worry, brother. Everything is as usual. Prince Wu has been a great help this time. He has blocked the news and reported to the court that it was because you were bravely wounded in battle that Chen Chong was able to escape."
