Chapter 129 Mr. Zhao!

After Xuan Yu dealt with the men in black around them, he was about to leave with Tang Yuan when Tang Yuan suddenly pointed ahead and shouted, "Daddy! It's Daddy! Mommy! Daddy's here to save us!"

The pain in Tian Yu's body, coupled with the surrounding noise, prevented her from hearing Tang Yuan's words. She leaned her head on Li Xingyun's shoulder, her eyes slightly closed as she stared in Tang Yuan's direction. Li Xingyun patted her head and said, "Tian Yu, wake up! The Marquis is here! Zhao Moyan is here!"

Tian Yu was somewhat dazed. By the time she came to her senses, Xuan Yu had already returned Tangyuan to Tian Yu's side and stood in front of her to block the men in black who were rushing towards them.

Struggling to open her eyes, Tian Yu saw the man riding a tall black horse, hacking and slashing his way through the crowd, before finally leaping down and landing in front of her, crouching down to look at her. Staring at him, their eyes met, and Tian Yu felt a moment of disorientation, her mind going blank.

Zhao Moyan saw Tian Yu sitting under the tree, squatted down, reached out and touched her face, saying with heartache, "Tian Yu, don't be afraid! I'm here!"

In her daze, Tian Yu burst into tears at those words, her tears bursting forth. Zhao Moyan gently embraced her, but Tian Yu cried even harder, saying sadly, "Mr. Zhao! It hurts so much, it hurts so much! There are so many of them, we can't beat them, I'm so scared! Why did you only come now? Where have you been!"

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm late, I'm so sorry!" Zhao Moyan said remorsefully when he saw the injury on Tian Yu's back. He had only just found out that they had come to the capital.

"It's nothing serious for now; there's no injury to bones or muscles, just skin and flesh," Li Xingyun said.

Jiang Yuanyuan and her maid, who were hiding in the bushes at a distance, were startled by what they saw. Jiang Yuanyuan's eyes widened in surprise as she exclaimed, "Marquis Zhenbei! What's he doing here? He knows Miss Li!"

"It seems so. They look like they know each other well. Could his brother be the Marquis of Zhenbei?!" the maid said.

"Impossible! Her surname is Li."

"What if she's lying to us?" the maid asked.

Jiang Yuanyuan thought it was possible, and her maid Ping'er said happily, "Then Miss will have a chance to marry the Marquis of Zhenbei!"

The two laughed and continued to peek from behind the bushes, but what they saw next shattered their hopes.

Zhao Moyan gently wiped away Tian Yu's tears, then lightly kissed her forehead and lips. He took off his cloak and draped it over Tian Yu, gently letting her lean against Qiu Ju, saying, "Be good! Close your eyes and rest for a while. I'll be right back."

After saying that, he stood up and said to Xuan Yu, "Protect them!" Then he rushed out.

Tian Yu obediently closed her eyes, and Lü Liu covered Tang Yuan's eyes as well. A series of screams were heard, followed by the sound of horses' hooves. Before Tian Yu could open her eyes, Qiu Ju explained, "Don't worry, Madam, it's Prince Wu's men."

After Tian Yu found out, she didn't open her eyes. She was really tired and quietly leaned against Qiu Ju. The pain from her wound made her face grow paler and paler, and she was almost in a semi-comatose state.

Prince Wu arrived with his soldiers and immediately ordered them to surround the remaining men in black. Zhao Moyan left with the words: "Leave no one alive!" A hundred arrows were fired at once, followed by continuous screams. Zhao Moyan returned to Tian Yu's side, sheathed his sword, and gently picked her up and mounted his horse to return to the capital.

Tian Yu leaned weakly on his shoulder and said, "Wait! The gale is still behind us."

At this moment, four people ran up from behind. It was Jifeng and three soldiers. When Jifeng saw Tian Yu, he dismounted and knelt down before Prince Wu, saying, "Please punish me, Your Highness. I failed to protect the lady."

"Good to know. Go back and receive twenty lashes yourself," said Prince Wu.

"No! He must not be punished." Tian Yu said softly, leaning against Zhao Moyan while sitting on horseback.

Although the voice was soft, Prince Wu could still hear it and said with a smile, "He is my guard. Whether he is punished or not is up to me."

“Okay, there are no more books this month.” Tian Yu said this even more quietly.

Everyone else was puzzled, but Prince Wu understood and sighed, saying, "Do as you say, and you won't be punished."

"Thank you, Your Highness! Thank you, Madam!"

Then, under the protection of Prince Wu's large entourage, Tian Yu and her group packed up and prepared to return to the capital.

Jiang Yuanyuan and Ping'er were still staring in disbelief at what was happening before them. Ping'er was the first to come to her senses and said, "They don't look like siblings."

"Yes! That child is theirs?" Jiang Yuanyuan asked.

"It seems so! I heard the child call the Marquis of Zhenbei 'Father'," the maid said.

"What did you hear them call her just now?" Jiang Yuanyuan asked again.

"Tian Yu?! Madam?!" the maid exclaimed in surprise.

"What...what's the name of that...village woman?" Jiang Yuanyuan asked.

"I've never heard of it, but it seems to be surnamed Tian!" the maid exclaimed in surprise.

After saying that, the two looked at each other in surprise and said in unison, "She's the infamous wicked village woman from the rumors?!"

After saying that, Jiang Yuanyuan shook her head in denial and said, "Impossible! Miss Li doesn't seem like the person in the rumors, it can't be!"

“No wonder! She said back then that rumors weren’t credible.” Ping’er recalled what Tian Yu said when she left them and finally understood.

Seeing that the large group of people was about to leave, the two realized what was happening and hurriedly ran out. But when they reached the roadside and saw the people riding horses looking down at them as they passed by, they forgot what they wanted to say.

Zhao Moyan, holding the semi-conscious Tian Yu in his arms, turned to look at them with a cold, ruthless, and slightly wary gaze. Recalling his ruthless killing just now, the two of them were so frightened that they watched them leave without daring to breathe. Only after the group had gone far away did they hurriedly flee the scene.

When the large group of people entered the city, Tian Yu was already unconscious. The guards at the city gate stopped Zhao Moyan. Zhao Moyan was about to force his way in, but the guards were frightened when they saw Prince Wu behind him and retreated. So the group entered the city in a grand manner. Prince Wu's guards led the way, and Xuan Yu followed closely behind Zhao Moyan with Tang Yuan.
