The people of the capital, curious, came out to see which important figure was making his trip. The scene was so grand that upon seeing Prince Wu and Marquis Zhenbei, they immediately understood. But then they began to discuss who the woman in Marquis Zhenbei's arms was, why the Marquis was so protective of her, and who the child following behind was. Thus, various versions of rumors began to circulate in the capital again. In particular, some people claimed to have personally witnessed Zhao Moyan carrying Tian Yu into the Marquis's residence.
Tian Yu had imagined countless times how she would enter the capital. Perhaps she would dress up beautifully and teach Zhao Moyan a lesson upon seeing him, or perhaps she would sneak in unnoticed and infuriate Zhao Moyan so he would know that offending her would have dire consequences. But she never expected that she would be escorted into the city by a large entourage of guards while unconscious.
Zhao Moyan hurried back to the Zhenbei Marquis's residence, picked up Tian Yu, and rushed into the courtyard. The guards were at a loss, wondering when the Marquis had left. Zhao Moyan didn't care about that. He put Tian Yu on the bed and ordered the servants to prepare hot water and towels. After Li Xingyun arrived, he dismissed the servants, leaving only Zhao Moyan, Li Xingyun, and Qiu Ju to help. Qiu Ju was responsible for bringing the hot water and wet towels. Zhao Moyan gently cut open the back of Tian Yu's clothes with scissors, cleaned the wound, and felt his heart breaking when he heard Tian Yu's painful groans. He could only hold Tian Yu's hand and silently comfort her. Li Xingyun prepared the tools for removing the scissors and said, "Hold her down and don't let her move around."
Zhao Moyan and Qiu Ju held Tian Yu down with all their might, while Li Xingyun tried to remove the arrowhead as quickly as possible. However, Tian Yu still screamed in pain and then completely lost consciousness. Li Xingyun wiped the sweat from his forehead and said, "Fortunately, it wasn't poisoned."
"So what's wrong with her now?"
"She fainted from the pain. Qiuju, go and get my medicine box."
Following Li Xingyun's instructions, Zhao Moyan fed Tian Yu several more doses of medicine. Only after hearing Tian Yu's steady breathing did he leave the room. The courtyard was brightly lit and filled with people. Prince Wu sat in the middle, blocking the soldiers who came to arrest Zhao Moyan. Zhao Moyan walked up to Prince Wu, bowed, and said, "Thank you very much, Prince Wu. Please tell His Majesty that I will give everyone an explanation first thing tomorrow morning."
"We heard everything, now go back!"
The soldiers behind them looked at each other, and one of the leaders stepped forward and said to Prince Wu, "Your Highness, we are also ordered to capture the Marquis of Zhenbei. If we go back like this, we won't be able to explain ourselves to our superiors!"
"Explain? Fine! I'll go to the palace right now and explain everything to my father."
"In that case, I shall take my leave."
"Get out of here now."
After the soldiers had all left, Prince Wu asked, "Is Tian Yu alright?"
"Everything's alright for now, but we'll be able to confirm after tonight."
"Alright, you take good care of her first. I'll protect Father Emperor for you."
"Thank you, Your Highness!"
"No need to thank me! I'm only doing this for myself. I'll head back now." He then looked at Gale to the side.
Jifeng cupped his hands and asked, "Your Highness!"
"Come out with me."
After speaking, he led the guards and Jifeng away. Green Willow stood beside Tangyuan, looking worriedly in the direction Jifeng had left. Tangyuan looked at Zhao Moyan calmly and asked, "Father, are you going to marry the princess?"
"Father will not marry the princess."
"But that's what they all say, and they even say you're not my father. My mother is heartbroken!"
"Don't listen to the nonsense outside. It's getting late. Go and rest with Green Willow."
"No, I want to stay with my mother."
"Tangyuan, your father will take good care of your mother tonight. Now go downstairs with them to have something to eat and get some rest, otherwise your mother will worry about you."
"Okay, what about Mother?" Tangyuan asked, glancing worriedly towards Tianyu's room.
"Don't worry, with Father and Uncle here, she'll be fine." Patting Tangyuan's head, Zhao Moyan called the steward to arrange for them to go and rest. He then went into the room and dismissed the servants. He sat alone by the bed, watching over Tian Yu, who was lying unconscious on the bed. He held Tian Yu's hand and said, "Did you come for me?" His confused heart finally had a direction.
