Following the direction pointed out by the little eunuch, Tian Yu wandered around but couldn't find the latrine. Instead, she arrived at a side hall at the back. She heard people talking and wanted to go up and ask, but when she got closer, she recognized Zhao Moyan and Prince Wu's voices. She thought she was saved. As she got closer, she heard the conversation inside and stopped in her tracks, unable to move.
"Are you sure Tian Yu won't go with Chen Chong?!" King Wu asked.
“No! She can’t let go of Tangyuan, and I’m Tangyuan’s father,” Zhao Moyan said.
"Lord Marquis, can you be so sure that Mr. Tian won't leave you just because of a child?" Li Linfeng said.
“Everyone knows that Mr. Tian still lives in a house in the suburbs. Does she know that you kept her here because of her talent?” another person said.
"How do you know I kept her because of her talent?" Zhao Moyan said.
"Everyone knows that ever since Old Master Jiang respectfully addressed her as 'Sir,' the Marquis has doted on her and wouldn't let anyone near her. Doesn't she know that she's being held under house arrest by you? Every move she makes is under the Marquis's watchful eye," Li Linfeng said loudly.
"So what if she is! She's my wife, and I get to decide what she does," Zhao Moyan said.
“Madam! You are no longer husband and wife. What can you do if she wants to leave?” another person said.
"Alright! All of you, say less. Tian Yu can only stay in Wu Kingdom, and can only be a citizen of Wu Kingdom. Do you understand, Lord Marquis?"
"yes!"
Hearing this, Tian Yu felt dizzy. She slowly turned around and quietly left. Zhao Moyan's words kept echoing in her ears. In a daze, Tian Yu returned to the main hall and sat down. She wanted to cry but couldn't. She felt like she had always been a joke, always being abandoned and used! All she wanted was a stable home, but why did so many things always happen? She had originally planned to return to the Marquis's mansion with Tang Yuan after the Chen Kingdom delegation left, but now she realized how ridiculous she had been.
Tian Yu didn't know when the banquet started. She only knew that she had been sitting there, staring straight ahead, but she couldn't see anything. She didn't even notice when Chen Chong and Zhao Moyan came in. She just stood there blankly, bowing and sitting down with everyone. Chen Chong immediately noticed the dazed Tian Yu in the crowd, but she didn't look at him. Chen Chong thought something had happened to Tian Yu and looked at Zhao Moyan, but seeing that Zhao Moyan was also looking in Tian Yu's direction with a worried expression, he didn't ask any further questions.
The banquet proceeded smoothly, except for Tian Yu, who was lost in thought. It wasn't until a maidservant nudged her, reminding her that the Emperor was calling her, that Tian Yu snapped out of her daze, quickly stood up, bowed her head, and hurried to the front of the hall to kneel and pay her respects. The Emperor smiled and said, "I thought Mr. Tian hadn't come. What happened? I called him several times but couldn't find him. Where did he hide?!"
"Your Majesty, this is the first time I have seen such a grand and magnificent scene, and I was momentarily stunned. Please forgive me."
"It's alright! It's alright! Mr. Tian, please get up quickly, let the Chen Kingdom's delegation see who our Wu Kingdom's world-renowned Moon Immortal is!"
Tian Yu bowed in gratitude, then slowly stood up, lifting her skirt, and bowed towards the Chen Kingdom delegation. As she slowly looked up, she saw Chen Chong standing there. "It's alright! I'm already deeply honored to meet Mr. Tian today. Please, Mr. Tian!" Chen Chong naturally sensed Tian Yu's discomfort and saw her tears, so he quickly came to her rescue.
"In that case, please take your seats, everyone," the Emperor said.
Upon hearing this, Tian Yu bent down to retreat to his place, but the Emperor said again, "Mr. Tian, please sit here with the Marquis!"
Tian Yu dared not say more, and after agreeing, she followed Zhao Moyan back to her seat.
