After Li Yong led the three away, Zhao Moyan looked at the group of children and asked Tian Yu, "What do you plan to do with these children?"
"Does Your Excellency have any good suggestions?" Tian Yu asked with a fawning smile.
"No." Zhao Moyan turned to the other side, refusing to look at Tian Yu.
"Well, okay then, I do have an idea."
"What idea?"
"Li Xingyun's backyard is quite large, why don't we borrow it for a while?"
"It is quite big, but are you sure you can borrow it?"
"I certainly can't borrow it, but the Marquis can!"
"Don't ask me, I can't borrow it either."
"Well then, where's the biggest bathhouse in town? Let's take them there for a bath first, and then we can discuss this later. What do you think?" Tian Yu said after thinking for a moment.
Zhao Moyan looked at the group of children, whose faces were so dirty that they were obscured, and nodded in agreement. Then he saw the Marquis of Zhenbei and Tian Yu leading a large group of children to the largest bathhouse in Shancheng County. Zhao Moyan and Tian Yu obviously didn't know about it; it was these children who pointed out the way.
As soon as they arrived at the door, the owner wouldn't let them in. Tian Yu didn't say anything, but glanced at Zhao Moyan. Zhao Moyan showed his waist token, and the owner immediately knelt down and bowed to invite them in. He then ordered someone to quickly prepare hot water and asked several shop assistants to help separate the children and take them into the bath room. Tian Yu threw a silver ingot at the owner and instructed him to send someone to buy each of them a suitable set of clothes and shoes.
The shopkeeper took the money with a smile and prepared to leave, while Tian Yu and Zhao Moyan sat in the lobby outside, drinking tea and waiting. Zhao Moyan remained calm and composed, but after two cups of tea, Tian Yu became restless, wanting to get up but unsure what to do. Zhao Moyan watched Tian Yu fidgeting restlessly, simply smiling and continuing to drink his tea.
Feeling the atmosphere was getting increasingly awkward, Tian Yu forced a smile and said, "How about I go out for a walk first, and I'll be back in a bit?"
"Okay, let's go." Zhao Moyan didn't wait for Tian Yu to speak. After saying that, he got up and strode outside to wait for Tian Yu on the street. Tian Yu had no choice but to follow.
Before leaving, Tian Yu told the boss to take good care of them and that they would be back soon. Only then did she feel relieved and lower her head to go shopping with Zhao Moyan.
The two walked down the street, one in front of the other. Tian Yu looked around, while Zhao Moyan followed a step behind. Tian Yu glanced back several times at Zhao Moyan, who was always behind her, thinking that he probably didn't like shopping. After buying some snacks for Tangyuan and Xiaoju, Tian Yu stopped at a roadside stall selling women's accessories. She saw the wooden hairpin that Chen Chong had given her earlier, picked it up to examine it, and the shopkeeper kept praising it, but Tian Yu put it down and turned to Zhao Moyan, saying, "Why don't we go back? It should be about time."
“Okay!” Zhao Moyan stopped and waited for Tian Yu to walk back. He glanced at the wooden hairpin and confirmed that it was the one Tian Yu had worn before. He seemed to understand why she had always cherished it. Although he felt very uncomfortable, he still tried to remain calm and followed behind Tian Yu.
Tian Yu walked back absentmindedly. After searching for so long, she only knew that Chen Chong was still in Wu Kingdom and had not returned to Chen Kingdom, but she did not know exactly where he was. Just as she was lost in thought, her arm was grabbed by someone.
Seeing Tian Yu walking ahead, preoccupied and oblivious to the approaching carriage, Zhao Moyan quickly stepped forward and pulled her aside. Tian Yu was startled to see Zhao Moyan blocking her way. What had just happened? How did she end up in Zhao Moyan's arms? She pushed him away, said thank you, and, not daring to look at him again, hurried back to the bathhouse.
After waiting a while, they were finally cleaned up and changed into suitable clothes, feeling much more comfortable. Tian Yu and Zhao Moyan then bought each of them two meat buns from a roadside vendor before heading towards the clinic.
Zhao Moyan said, "Think about how you're going to tell Li Xingyun."
"No, let's talk about it when we get there! If it really doesn't work, we'll think of another way."
A large group of people entered the clinic. Only Xiao Wu was in the front hall. Seeing so many children, he looked on with a puzzled expression. But seeing Zhao Moyan was also there, he didn't dare to say anything and could only bow his head and say, "My lord! The young master and the others are having a meal in the backyard."
Tian Yu told the children to wait in the front hall, and she and Zhao Moyan went to the backyard. Several people were eating in the backyard living room, and they were surprised to see Li Xingyun's mother, who was busy serving food to Tangyuan and Xiaoju. She seemed like a kind and approachable person. Zhao Moyan and Tian Yu went in, and Zhao Moyan bowed to the two people at the table, greeting them as Uncle Li and Aunt Li. Tian Yu quickly followed suit, bowing and greeting them as well. Li Xingyun's father glanced at them, nodded, and continued eating. Tangyuan and Xiaoju ran up and hugged Tian Yu, calling her "Mommy." Tangyuan then called Zhao Moyan "Daddy."
Li also stood up and said, "You haven't eaten yet, have you?"
“Mother, you don’t need to worry about them,” Li Xingyun interjected.
"You brat, stop talking nonsense and eat your food."
Zhao Moyan and Tian Yu nodded at the same time. Tian Yu said, "I ate on the way here. Sorry to bother you! Please enjoy your meal."
Tian Yu told Tangyuan and Xiaoju to go eat first. As Li Shi approached, Tian Yu took a closer look and realized that Li Xingyun's mother and Li Xingyun did share some similarities in their eyes and eyebrows. No wonder Li Xingyun was so beautiful; although she was older, it was clear that she had been a great beauty in her youth.
Li Shi immediately took Tian Yu's hand and looked her over carefully, saying, "I was wondering why I liked these two children so much. They're the Marquis's children! My daughter, you've really raised them well. They're so obedient and sensible. Ah! If my Xingyun could marry a virtuous wife like you, his father and I could finally rest easy!"
"Auntie, you flatter me. The two children are very naughty. I'm glad they didn't cause you any trouble. They've disturbed your meal."
"Don't bother me, I've already finished eating. Come, daughter, sit down and let's talk. You shouldn't just stand there, sit down too." Li pulled Tian Yu to sit down in the living room, and then asked Zhao Moyan to come and sit down as well.
Tian Yu smiled and did as she was told, sitting down with Li Shi in the living room. Li Shi touched Tian Yu's hand and said, "I never thought that the Marquis and Xingyun were the same age, but now the Marquis's son is so grown up, while our Xingyun doesn't even have a wife." As she spoke, she became sad.
"Don't be sad, Auntie. It'll happen sooner or later. Doctor Li is famous, and there must be many girls who like him. He just hasn't met her yet." Tian Yu comforted Li Shi, then turned to look at Li Xingyun, who was eating and looked unhappy.
“You’re just trying to comfort me. There have been plenty of matchmakers over the years, but this child just won’t agree.”
"Hasn't your aunt considered a different approach, letting Young Master Li understand the benefits of married life first? Maybe then he'll be willing to get married and have children?" Tian Yu winked at Zhao Moyan and then said to Madam Li.
"A different way!? What way?" Mrs. Li asked in surprise.
"The Marquis was also unwilling to marry, but after Tangyuan came along, he changed a lot." Tian Yu said with a smile, not forgetting to give Zhao Moyan a look.
"Really?" Li asked.
Zhao Moyan received the signal and nodded with a smile, which was considered as cooperating with Tian Yu's idea. Everyone else could see clearly that it would be strange if these two were not a couple!
