The base appears to be safe and sound, but in fact, the corpse of a parasite has been salvaged from the island for the eighth time.
Once that thing is fished out, it must be quickly put into a cage, killed, and then thrown into the crematorium to be burned completely, with its bones and ashes scattered, so that people can feel at ease. Otherwise, if you are not careful, it will start to parasitize and reproduce wildly.
Once again at the salvage site, Pei Xiqing happened to be invited to have tea at a nearby teahouse.
The other party is the wife of several senior executives of the base. They have been asking her out every day since she came here. Unfortunately, she didn't want to go out casually before, and only recently she felt a little more energetic to go out for a walk.
She was spotted by these ladies’ people a few days ago and caught red-handed while she was relaxing outside.
It was really hard to refuse the invitation, so we made an appointment to have a banquet at the teahouse the next day.
She sat with several wives of officials for a while. From the attic's location by the sea, she could see from afar several aircraft parked on the shore, with a group of soldiers with special abilities standing next to them, performing salvage work on the seabed.
"Hey, what are they salvaging? Why are there so many people? And they're not allowing anyone to get close?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm curious too!"
"My husband told me that there have been water ghosts appearing in the sea around the base lately. They've been pulled up as giant parasites, and they're terrifying! They're covered in boils and tumors, and they can even parasitize people if they get close enough! Ladies, stay away! If you get involved with these unlucky creatures, you'll be in trouble!"
"So scary? Mrs. Duan, you should be careful too."
One of the wives of the officials advised Pei Xiqing: "Stay as far away as possible."
"Okay, I will." Pei Xiqing agreed politely.
"But Mrs. Duan's husband should be aware of the recent events at headquarters. Has he shared any news with you that we haven't heard yet?"
Pei Xiqing smiled faintly: "He and I don't talk about these things much."
"They say the presiding judge loves his wife the most, and it's true. He doesn't even want you to worry about the base's troubles!"
She smiled without saying a word, and turned her gaze to the shore.
A familiar figure jumped down from the aircraft. Upon closer inspection, it seemed to be Ling Lang.
He moved through the crowd, his figure standing out from the crowd.
After walking a few steps, he finally stopped in front of the salvage machine.
A few minutes later, the giant salvaging machine slowly began to pull in the net.
Several huge mechanical arms pulled up the heavy unidentified creature.
The thing in the net was a black mass, like a water ghost entangled in seaweed, but if you look closely, you can see that it is a giant parasite wrapped in seaweed.
A foul smell also came over instantly.
The ladies covered their mouths and noses with disgust on their faces.
"Oh, how can it smell so bad?"
"Let's go quickly. Even though we're upstairs, the wind will bring all the bad smells here. What if there's a virus?"
"Yes, yes, let's go quickly..."
"Mrs. Duan, do you want to come with us? We can take you back."
Pei Xiqing stood up and said, "No need, ladies, please go first. Don't worry about me."
Others went downstairs one after another.
Pei Xiqing followed behind.
The masked figure slowly stepped out from the shadows. "Madam, it's better not to go over there."
Pei Xiqing said, "I'll stand at a distance and observe the situation."
After she went downstairs, she chose a position that was neither too far nor too close, and leaned against the fence to look over there.
Ling Lang and the people around him had already put on protective masks and were dealing with the body of the parasite.
The stench of the stench was even stronger, but she had come into contact with this smell before in the ghost world.
Ling Lang dealt with the body, took off his mask, looked up and saw where she was.
