Chapter 236 Don’t Worry About Me Anymore (2/2)

After hesitating for a moment, he changed his coat and disinfected it before coming over.

"Why are you here? It's dangerous here."

Pei Xiqing looked up: "It was a coincidence that I saw you, but this is a common occurrence in the base."

"I guess so." The island's climate rarely offers sunny days; it's either heavy rain or strong winds that can easily blind a person. Ling Lang walked away against the wind, his white hair flying. He said, "Once a parasite comes into contact with seawater, it won't survive long. But they're constantly mutating and evolving, so it's only a matter of time before they can survive in the sea and attack humans."

Pei Xiqing sighed.

"It's rare to see you sad." Ling Lang leaned against the fence, staring at her with a half-smile. "Don't worry, even if the sky falls, we'll hold it up. Even if the parasite wants to infect people, it will infect us first, and you definitely won't be the one to be infected."

Pei Xiqing said: "You must not be infected."

"Don't worry about me anymore." He muttered.

The sound was so quiet that it was drowned out by the sea breeze.

Ling Lang turned around hurriedly, facing the sea, but his hand subconsciously tightened around the brand new saber at his waist.

Before Pei Xiqing could say anything, a scream suddenly came from the street behind him.

Ling Lang instantly became alert and looked back.

Pei Xiqing also looked at it.

It turned out to be the wife of the official who had just been drinking tea with her in the teahouse. She suddenly started shouting in panic in the car.

The source of their panic was the drainage outlets on both sides of the street, which were connected to the sewers and had the ocean underneath. Unknown creatures actually crawled out of them!

“Get out of the way!”

Except for the wives of officials, everyone else on the street moved slowly and looked at the thing expressionlessly. It was only after Ling Lang's roar that they began to realize the danger as if their system codes had been awakened, and began to flee in all directions.

Ling Lang rushed over there, unsheathed the saber in his hand, and instantly killed the creatures that crawled out of the drain.

There are still some fish that have escaped the net and are about to attack people around.

Ling Lang grabbed him in the air with one hand.

He frowned.

This creature looked like a swaddled baby, but its entire body was pitch black, its face was extremely ugly, and its skin was as greasy and smooth as a toad's.

He took a look and threw it into the cage, "Kill all the other ones running around on the street."

As soon as something happened, Ying took action to deal with the strange species closest to Pei Xiqing.

Pei Xiqing stood a few steps away and glanced at the corpse on the ground. "Is this... a parasite's reproductive body?"

Ling Lang came over and said, "Almost, but it needs professional appraisal."

As soon as he finished speaking, Qiu Chao hurried over.

Long Yan was also behind him.

The two men were fully armed and examined the corpse on the ground and the living creature that Ling Lang had just caught.

Qiu Chao's brows never relaxed.

"Bring her back."

He took off his gloves and threw them away, crushing his supernatural power. Then he and Long Yan walked towards Ling Lang together.

Qiu Chao spitted out in dismay, "How disgusting."

Ling Lang asked: "What is it?"

"The parasite deliberately lays its eggs in the ocean," he said. "Now they've crawled out of the sewers, next time they'll surround us directly from the shore. These beasts are truly disgusting, laying eggs all over the ocean. Within a year, there's no seawater left, only the parasite's slime forming a river of green saliva."

He snapped his fingers again, his eyes showing some excitement. "But it should be fun to see the grand spectacle later. If you accidentally fall into the water, you'll probably be drowned by those deformed, toad-like dolls in a matter of minutes."

Pei Xiqing felt nauseous.

I couldn't help it and started retching while holding the railing.
