Chapter 31: Punishment for Mistakes (1/2)

Duan Xiaolin didn't feel much pain. She didn't bite hard, but the two sharp fangs that had grown out at who knows when actually pierced the skin on the side of his neck.

Blood flowed out of the wound.

The person in his arms did not bite again, but just extended the tip of his tongue and licked gently along the tiny wound, his movements clumsy and immature.

She opened her eyes, but there was not much clarity in them. She asked in a daze, "What bitter blood."

Her bright red eyes met the man's slightly pursed lips, opening and closing: "Why... can't you use your supernatural powers?"

She moved closer, almost touching his lips, and asked, "Hey hey..."

The blood of a person with superpowers cannot deceive people. Blood with superpowers is a delicacy to zombies, but his blood is extremely bitter.

But he does look like someone with very powerful supernatural powers.

A trace of astonishment flashed across the man's deep pupils. His body froze for two seconds, and he pressed his hand against her fragile neck. The hand that was originally going to strangle her neck turned into a caress.

"release."

Pei Xiqing did as he was told, leaning against his arms and not moving around anymore. After a while, she closed her eyes and fainted again.

Duan Xiaolin touched the wound that had stopped bleeding, stared at her quietly for two seconds, and picked her up without saying a word.

He strode out of the woods in front and walked all the way to the town outside City B.

There aren't many zombies in the town, but there are still some.

As soon as they smelled the breath of living people, they crawled out from various corners.

The man held a gun and shot people in the head with every shot.

After dealing with the zombies, he carried Pei Xiqing into an empty room. As soon as he put her on the bed, he suddenly felt a sharp pain from the wound on his neck.

The virus began to spread from the wound, and after a while, the skin on his neck began to turn gray-green.

He missed the time to inject the serum and had no special energy to protect his body, so the virus spread quickly as he expected.

Duan Xiaolin walked out of the room and took out his communicator: "I'm from Yunli Town. I brought a dose of serum."

Pei Xiqing did not sleep well. His body kept burning on the edge of extreme pain and he kept tossing and turning in pain.

She suddenly opened her eyes and was a little surprised to see a completely unfamiliar head.

This is not a camp, nor is it the team's car.

As soon as he turned his head, he saw Duan Xiaolin sitting on a chair and injecting serum with one hand.

The man sat in the dim light, his figure imposing. He took off his glasses and put them aside. His dark features were less noble and more wild, as sharp as a blade.

He had taken off his coat, revealing his bulging chest muscles. One of his sleeves was rolled up, revealing a wound from his neck all the way down that was covered in a horrific gray-green zombie infection virus, even more serious than hers. Even his skin had begun to peel off.

If these viruses were placed on someone else, they would have collapsed, screamed, and fainted. However, he calmly used the dagger to carve off the dead flesh bit by bit.

The sharp dagger kept scraping against his arm, and each scratch was enough to make him shudder.

Pei Xiqing's eyes widened, "Brother Duan!"

She immediately got out of bed, but tripped and fell heavily to the ground.

A man wearing a black mask stood beside the man. Judging from his physique, he was a powerful psychic, but he was a stranger to her. When she wanted to stand up, the man held a gun to her forehead.

The other party's voice was hoarse and difficult to understand, like a demon from hell: "You are the one who bit me, right?"

"Do you know who you bit?" The masked man gritted his teeth, loaded his gun, and pressed it hard against her forehead: "I think you are really looking for death!"

Some fragments flashed through Pei Xiqing's mind, the scene where Duan Xiaolin carried her away, but she turned her kindness into enmity and bit him.

Guilt suddenly welled up in my chest.

She stood up, completely unaware of the gun between her brows that was about to fire at any moment. She grabbed the dagger in the man's hand and snatched it away: "I'm sorry, Brother Duan."
