Chapter 129 The Sounds Within Baron

"Prince Barton, Captain Zoro is back!"

Sir Frings rushed into Prince Barton's residence and said anxiously.

"Commander Zoro?"

"Are you mistaken? How could he be back so quickly? Shouldn't he be escorting that woman to Ashfurnace City?"

Prince Barton stood up from his chair, looking shocked by the news.

"There's no mistake, he's already gone to the king, probably to report on what's happened these past few days!"

"He wasn't the one escorting that woman? Could someone be stronger than him?"

Prince Barton paced back and forth, unsure how to process the news.

"Go and find out what exactly happened in Sandstone City, and where that woman is!"

"yes!"

Just as Maester Frings was about to leave, Prince Barton called him back.

"Once this is confirmed, send a message to Hawkins and tell him to make sure this operation goes smoothly!"

Prince Barton added.

"yes!"

Scholar Frings then withdrew.

Inside the royal palace, Captain Sauron was kneeling on one knee before an elderly man wearing a crown. This man was the king of the human race and the master of this city of Baron, King Bukendia.

"Get up, Zoro!"

King Bukendia spoke slowly.

"Thank you, Your Majesty!"

Zoro slowly rose to his feet, his gaze fixed on the steps leading to the king's throne.

"How's the situation going? What's the current state of Sandstone City?"

"Your Majesty, the matter has been resolved. All the tribal forces that invaded Sandstone City have been driven out, but the former city lord, Saril, has been killed in battle!"

"Shariel is dead?"

"Yes, she was killed by a female undead rogue from a tribe!"

"I thought that after letting you pass, the tribesmen wouldn't attack anymore, but I didn't expect that people would still die!"

"Has the reason for the orcs' attack on Sandstone City been found out? The people sent by Sarriel last time didn't explain this clearly."

King Bukendia was clearly more interested in the latter issue, and the death of Sarriel merely brought Sandstone City to a new ruler, no longer requiring his attention.

"The investigation has been completed!"

After saying that, Captain Zoro didn't continue, but instead walked cautiously toward King Bukendia.

The king understood immediately and tilted his head to stick his ear forward.

"Lady Catherine is there, in Sandstone City!"

King Bukendia was taken aback by what Captain Sauron was about to say, and his expression immediately became tense.

"The facts have proven that this tribe's attack on Sandstone City was not for this area, but for Lady Catherine!"

Captain Zoro added another sentence.

"..."

King Bukendia pondered for a moment, then raised his head and looked intently at Captain Zoro.

Is she still in Sandstone City?

"She's already left. Judging by the time, she should have arrived in Ashfurnace City by now!"

"They've already arrived in Grayfurnace City? How could it be so fast? Why didn't you escort her?"

"She's traveling on a Draenei spaceship, and she's being escorted by a platoon leader who's both intelligent and capable. There shouldn't be any problems!"

"A Draenei spaceship?"

King Bukendia was quite surprised. He hadn't expected Catherine to leave on a Draenei ship, and even he himself had never owned a Draenei ship, only having visited them.

"Yes, it was given to that company commander by the Draenei from Sandstone City!"

"It seems that this company commander is a really good person. I should meet him if I have the chance!"

"Your Majesty, if you were to meet him, you would also take a liking to this young man; he is indeed a fine person!"

Taking this opportunity, Captain Zoro praised Joey in front of the king.

"Yes, there will be opportunities!"

A barely perceptible smile flickered in the king's eyes.

"Commander Zoro, I know you've had a long and tiring journey. You should go back and rest!"

King Bukendia did not ask Captain Sauron any further questions, but instead sent him back directly.

Captain Zoro didn't think much of it, simply agreed, and retreated towards the door behind him.

After Captain Sauron disappeared into the hall, King Bukendia turned around to look behind him.

"Old friend, you heard what Zoro just said, didn't you?"

A tall, imposing figure emerged from behind.

He was dressed in armor, with a large sword hanging at his waist. It should be noted that people entering this hall were not allowed to carry weapons, and this rule obviously did not apply to him.

His hair looked a bit gray, but he didn't give the impression of being a decrepit old man on his deathbed; rather, he was a terrifying figure who shouldn't be messed with.

"Yes, yes, I heard everything. I didn't expect so many things to happen so soon after I left Saipan!"

"The fortress was destroyed, but they still managed to recruit a captain with good potential. As for Catherine, she's been chased for so long, it must have been tough for her!"

The man, looking rather lazy, slowly walked up to King Bukendia, sat down directly on the steps at his feet, put his hands behind his back, and leaned back.

"Garp!"

"Um?"

The king called out his name; it turned out that this was the former marshal of the Saibanda Fortress, Cap Monchido.

"Since the elves are still unwilling to participate in this war that has already begun, you should rejoin the army. After all, these young warriors need your guidance!"

"Okay, okay!"

"These elves, each having lived for hundreds of years, only see immediate benefits and cannot see the danger that is already approaching. It is estimated that they will only choose to face this war when the flames of war reach their world!"

Marshal Garp's tone was disdainful. He had seemed indifferent to the previous visit to the Elven territory to discuss forming a coalition to deal with the Horde's attack, which had left Garp in a bad mood ever since.

"Catherine's eighteenth birthday is in two months. You must protect her well. The tribe will definitely come looking for her again!"

King Bukendia also stepped down from his throne. He squatted down with some difficulty, supporting himself on his knee with his right hand, and slowly sat down next to Garp.

"Looks like you've really gotten old!"

Marshal Karp said jokingly, extending a hand to King Bukendia to ease his discomfort.

"Thanks, old friend!"

"Alright, alright, we're not young anymore, we're getting old!"

The two sat on the steps leading to the throne and began to reminisce about their youth.
