"Joey, you're spacing out again!"
The bearded man stepped out from behind Joey and they went together to a huge balcony.
Joey glanced back at the bearded man, then continued to stare at the view outside the balcony.
It has to be said that this city lord's mansion is really big. Although Joey has never been to Baron City, after arriving in Ashfurnace City, he can already imagine the splendor of Baron City.
"They've just left us here for days, completely ignoring us. It's really upsetting!"
The Lord's Mansion is the tallest building in Baron City, and the houses in the city all extend outward from this castle, so Joey can see most of Ashfurnace City from his eyes.
"Not entirely, the food and drinks were pretty good!"
As he spoke, the bearded man pulled a bottle of wine from his pocket, unscrewed the cork, and a refreshing aroma of wine immediately wafted out.
"You're doing so well! You eat and drink your fill and then go to bed with Martha!"
Joey was genuinely jealous of the bearded man; he didn't have to think about anything, and could go back to his room after eating and drinking his fill.
The bearded man's dark face was slightly red, making him look even darker.
"Oh, my dear Catherine, when will you finally settle things with me, your live-in son-in-law!"
Joey muttered to himself that he couldn't count on the bearded man either; he wasn't someone who could come up with ideas.
After taking a swig of his drink, the bearded man handed the bottle to Joey, thinking Joey really needed a drink.
Without hesitation, Joey took the wine from the bearded man and gulped it down.
"Well……"
The bearded man hesitated, not because he was distressed about the fine wine, but because although it tasted good, it had a strong aftereffect and drinking too much could make one feel lightheaded.
However, seeing Joey's condition, he thought it might be good to let Joey get drunk, at least he should feel much better after sobering up.
"Big...big beard..."
Joey tilted his head back, tilted the bottle towards his mouth a few times, and the last few drops of wine slid from the bottle neck into his mouth.
He was already somewhat drunk.
"Where's the wine?"
"Alright, Joey, that's enough. You can't hold your liquor as well as I can. Just a little tipsy is fine!"
"Who...who said that? I'm...I'm a wine connoisseur who can drink a thousand cups without getting drunk. This...this kind of wine that's not much different from water, I can...I can drink it forever!"
"Uh, I should have told you to drink less. You're not just three-tenths drunk, you're already six-tenths drunk!"
"Nonsense, I'm not drunk, I'll prove it to you!"
As Joey spoke, he turned to face the outside of the balcony, casually threw the wine bottle on the ground, and climbed onto the marble railing of the balcony.
"Joey!"
The bearded man called out worriedly; he was already regretting letting Joey drink.
"I'm fine, don't worry. I'm not going to fly off like a bird, I know that much!"
Joey's words had just relieved the bearded man, but he immediately stood up from the fence and started jumping around on it.
Just as the bearded man was about to try and persuade Joey again, a voice suddenly came from behind him: "What is he doing? Is he planning to jump off the building?"
The bearded man turned around and saw that the person approaching was Archmage Meld, who was holding a rolled-up parchment and walking slowly toward him.
However, the bearded man did not feel any awe towards the monk; in his mind, the man in front of him was no different from an ordinary person.
"He'd just had a few drinks and was trying to get some fresh air!"
The bearded man, not wanting Joey to lose face, also started covering for him.
"Get some fresh air? Is he drunk?"
Archmage Melder had already walked to the balcony, looked up at Joey, whose face was already flushed, and said with a smile.
"I'm not drunk, you're talking nonsense!"
Before the bearded man could continue explaining, Joey jumped off the balcony, pointed his right finger at Archmage Meld's nose, and responded unhappily.
"You don't look well. I need to talk to you about something!"
Meld frowned slightly, somewhat dissatisfied with Joey's current appearance.
"Who said it's bad? You old geezer, what nonsense are you spouting!"
Upon hearing his words, Joey rushed over, raising his right hand as if to strike.
It was only then that the bearded man realized Joey was really drunk, and he rushed over to try and pull Joey away.
"Bang!"
A heavy thud was heard as Meld's staff twitched slightly.
The bearded man was instantly shocked by the sight before him, and his gaze toward Meld turned to terror.
The drunken Joey was nowhere to be seen, and where he had been standing was now a sheep.
"Baa—"
The sheep bleated twice and started spinning in circles.
Melder tapped the ground with his staff again, and a bucket of cold water appeared out of nowhere on the head of the already quiet "sheep," pouring directly over its head.
"Cough cough cough!"
The sheep disappeared again, and Joey reappeared.
He was drenched in cold water that suddenly fell on his body, and a lot of water was poured into his mouth, causing him to cough violently.
"Are you awake now? If not, I have enough water!"
Archmage Melder crouched down, looking at Joey with a kind and benevolent expression.
"He's awake! He's awake! He's awake!"
Joey felt like he had just had a nightmare. His perspective had become extremely low, like a dog's, and his mind was a complete mess, unable to think at all. He still didn't understand what he had experienced, but he definitely didn't want to go through it again.
