Chapter 19 Part-time Wine Business

"Tsk tsk tsk, still saying it's not wine?"

David moved closer to the bearded man, his face full of flattery.

"Sam, where did you get this liquor? Can I have some?"

No sooner had he said that than the other people in the dormitory gathered around the bearded man.

"Sam, give me some too..."

"Oops, you guys spotted us by accident!"

The bearded man wore a bitter expression, seemingly possessing a real talent for acting. Joey, sitting opposite him, quietly gave him a thumbs up.

"I know everyone wants to drink, but Captain Pouf has issued a prohibition order and the tavern has been closed. I only managed to get this little bit of alcohol through connections and it took a lot of effort!"

The bearded man looked very embarrassed.

"Sam, don't worry, if anyone betrays you, I, David, will be the first to chop them up! This wine wasn't easy for you to get, and I'm not giving it away for free. I'll pay double what you paid for it!"

With David leading the way, the others also pledged their loyalty.

"How could I ask you to pay double? I'll sell it to you for the same price I bought it for. How could I make money off you?"

"A bucket costs 100 silver coins, which is much more expensive than in the tavern!"

David was deeply moved by the bearded man's words. Even though he knew the price, he still praised the bearded man as a good guy and a good brother.

"100 silver coins it is, it's better than having no wine at all!"

David gritted his teeth. Yesterday's dinner party had cost several hundred silver coins, so he was determined to spend that money on himself today.

"However, I only brought back eleven buckets this time. There are twelve people in our dorm, so it's not easy to divide them up!"

After hearing what the bearded man said, everyone looked at each other in surprise. Those who had just thought the price was too high immediately felt that getting it was a steal and were thinking of making their move as soon as possible.

"If there are only eleven barrels, then let's give them to everyone, since I'm new here!"

Joey, who had been standing to the side, finally spoke up.

"You two brothers are both handsome and kind-hearted!"

David immediately cheered, patted the bearded man on the shoulder, and gestured for him to take him to get the wine.

Less than half an hour.

Under the cover of night, the twelve men carried eleven barrels of wine back to their dormitory.

"Here, these are 100 silver coins!"

David had just carried the wine back to his bed when he tossed a money bag to the bearded man.

The bearded man took it, weighed it in his hand, and without opening it, put it directly into his pocket.

Seeing that the wine had been retrieved, the others also handed over their money to the bearded man.

An even stronger aroma of alcohol wafted through the dormitory, and everyone couldn't resist drinking, their smiles infectious.

But only Joey and the bearded man's smiles far surpassed those of the others.
