Chapter 21 Orc Invasion

Joey's slight prejudice against the archer had long since vanished after he spent 200 silver coins to buy a barrel of wine. Seeing that the archer greeted him, Joey smiled and waved back.

"What a pity, I haven't had any alcohol for days, my mouth is practically tasteless!"

The archer grumbled, then suddenly looked away from Joey and towards the gate of the stockade.

Who is it?

He narrowed his eyes slightly, and immediately drew the longbow to its full draw, aiming it at a certain direction outside the village gate.

"call out!"

An arrow flew swiftly, and before the archer in the watchtower could react, his throat was pierced.

He immediately fell from the watchtower, landing directly in front of Joey.

"Oh no, it's coming!"

Joey let out a soft "hmm," and instantly became serious.

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh..."

A rain of swords, each carrying a fireball, flew into the village, followed by shouts of battle—the orcs had indeed attacked.

Joey suddenly shouted at the guards at the gate and scrambled to the back.

"Captain Puff, the orcs are attacking! The situation at the village gate is tense. The orcs have sent quite a few men this time!"

Halfway there, Joey saw Puff leading a group of people hurrying towards them.

"Shouldn't you be staying by Lady Catherine's side?"

Puff completely ignored Joey's report and instead questioned him.

"Lady Catherine was worried and sent me to come and check on things!"

Joey could easily come up with a lie, and he quickly explained.

"This is not the time to talk about these things. You should hurry back to Lady Catherine's side. If anything happens to her, I'll kill you first!"

After uttering this harsh remark, Puff left with his men.

Joey didn't dare to delay and hurried to the small manor.
