"Warlock's Infernal?"
After hearing what Daines said, Joey suddenly remembered the information about the green sun in the book.
Daines was right; the green sun was indeed the hellfire summoned by the warlock from another dimension.
They fall from the sky like giant green fireballs. After hitting the ground, the fireballs completely split apart and then transform into a large, golem-like stone monster that is tens of meters tall.
They are not only immune to magical attacks, but also possess enormous physical destructive power, making them an essential weapon for destroying homes and exacting revenge.
Joey suppressed his fear; this was the first time he had ever seen such a supernatural creature, and it would be a lie to say he wasn't afraid.
He hurriedly adjusted the rudder, trying to dodge the attack of the hellfire.
"My dear Grand Scholar, why is this hellfire, which can only be summoned by high-ranking warlocks, appearing here?"
"Don't tell me this Tiger Stone Mountain outpost is so important that you've only sent about two hundred people to guard it, and haven't even assigned someone who can rival a high-ranking warlock from the tribe to stay here?"
Joey increasingly felt that there was a secret hidden in Tiger Rock Mountain. How could a lowly outpost have a scholar named Daines wearing nine knots here, and even be targeted by the tribe, which sent a high-ranking sorcerer to attack it? There were too many suspicious points.
"Knowing too much about some things isn't a good thing, but the fact that you can ask this question suggests that your identity isn't simple!"
Daines did not answer Joey's question. Instead, he felt that an ordinary soldier would not think so much about things that were irrelevant to him.
"Okay, then don't say anything. I'm not that curious either. It's best not to be too curious about things like this in TV dramas, or you definitely won't survive past the second episode!"
"As for my identity, whether you believe it or not, I was born a farmer. I just happen to enjoy reading, which has taken up some of your work!"
Joey was already thinking to himself that it was better not to get involved in this mess. The water was too deep for someone of his height to navigate. Once we got to the continent of Budalas, I had to separate from them as soon as possible.
A mentorship position is certainly desirable, but one with too many secrets and too much risk is best avoided.
Daines didn't bother to figure out if Joey's words were true or false; at that moment, all he wanted was to survive the Hellfire attacks.
"Just focus on navigating the boat and get through this crisis first!"
Daines clung tightly to the edge of the boat, which was now rocking violently as it cut through the waves.
With the hellfire overhead drawing ever closer, Joey could only concentrate fully on steering the sailboat.
"Um...where is this?"
A soft, sweet moan rang out, and Catherine, who had been rocking on the sailboat, slowly woke up.
"Lady Catherine, the outpost has been attacked. We are escorting you away!"
Daines remained gripping the edge of the boat, not going to Catherine's side to explain the situation to her.
Actually, given the size of the sailboat, the two were only separated by a large beard; the distance between them wasn't very far.
"Where's Puff? Where's Eileen? Why didn't they kill the orcs who attacked us? Now I have to run away with them too?"
Catherine suddenly screamed hysterically, clearly quite dissatisfied that she hadn't killed all the attacking orcs, held the outpost, or brought them out.
"Lady Catherine, we are outnumbered and have no other choice!"
Daines tried to persuade Catherine, but she completely ignored him and continued to throw a tantrum.
"That's right, it's you, you who knocked me out! How dare you lay a hand on me! I'll kill you!"
Catherine saw Joey at the helm and, as if finding an outlet, stood up, staggered, and pounced on Joey, grabbing him by the neck.
"Crazy woman!"
Joey had no time to argue with her at that moment and simply pushed her away.
Catherine stumbled and fell on the sailboat.
"You actually dared to fight back!"
Catherine immediately got up and lunged at Joey aggressively again.
"Smack!"
A loud slap rang out, shocking both Daines and the bearded man.
Joey actually slapped Catherine across the face.
In Big Beard's mind, Joey had never hit a woman, especially such a beautiful one.
In Daines's mind, only Catherine hit others; absolutely no one would dare to touch Catherine.
"Stop your spoiled princess attitude. I'm not going to put up with you. If you want to die, jump down yourself. If you don't want to die, stay put!"
After Joey finished speaking, he looked up again at the hellfire that was about to fall from the sky.
Catherine stood frozen in place. When she followed Joey's gaze and looked up at the sky, her eyes, which had been red with grievance, were immediately filled with fear.
Her legs went weak, and she collapsed onto the sailboat.
No matter how powerful, wealthy, or willful a person is, when faced with the real threat of death, their arrogance, prejudice, and recklessness will be overshadowed by the instinct for survival.
Survival is always the primary need for all living organisms.
Daines wanted to comfort Catherine, but after thinking for a while, he just gave Joey a meaningful look and said nothing more.
"Hold on tight to the sailboat, prepare to ram!"
With a shout from Joey, the hellfire above them fell ten meters to the right of the sailboat.
The nearly ten-meter-high waves spread outwards from the point where the hellfire fell, and even the sailboats were not spared, as the giant waves were surging towards them.
Joey quickly adjusted the bow of the boat to face the direction from which the giant wave was crashing.
