Chapter 38 Checking into the Hotel

Beautiful women are indeed appealing to men, women, young and old. Catherine's mere appearance was enough to let the two of them in. But it's no wonder, how many scoundrels in this world don't love looking at beautiful women?

"Thank you so much, Grandma!"

Catherine has actually become more eloquent this time; it seems she has truly improved.

"It's so late, why are you two coming to our village?"

The old woman placed the candlestick on a round table in the room and slowly sat down, holding onto the table.

"I'm just passing through and don't plan to stay long. I'll leave at dawn tomorrow!"

Joey presented all the lies he had already woven.

"Yes, it's good to leave sooner rather than later, especially for you two young couple. Staying here any longer isn't a good thing!"

The old woman said something meaningful, then, ignoring Joey's questioning look, she got up, picked up the candlestick, and went inside.

"You can sleep in this room tonight, 20 copper coins a night, you can pay me back tomorrow morning!"

The old woman pointed to a room and then lit a candle on the wall next to it.

"By the way, don't go out for walks at night anymore; wild animals often roam outside!"

After saying those words, the old woman walked away with faltering steps, but her departing figure made Joey feel very lonely.

Never mind all that, I can sleep in the same bed with Catherine tonight, I'm so excited just thinking about it.

The old woman just said that Joey and Catherine are a young couple, and Catherine didn't refute it. It seems like things will get interesting tonight.

At this moment, Joey felt as if he had reached the foot of Mount Ling on his journey to the West, and was about to achieve enlightenment!

All my fatigue disappeared at that moment.

Joey, familiar with the place, lit the candlesticks in the room; he particularly liked the round bed in the room.

He then stood at the door and gestured for Catherine to come to bed, almost saying, "Princess, please come to bed!"

Catherine didn't hesitate at all and went straight into the room.

"Bang!"

However, to Joey's surprise, Catherine closed the door as soon as she entered the room.

Now it was Joey's turn to stand at the door, completely bewildered.

"I haven't even gone in yet! What's going on here?"

He gritted his teeth, filled with remorse.

After a short while, he calmed himself down and gently knocked on the door.

"Lady Catherine, have you left something outside?"

"I don't think I've missed anything!"

"Did you leave me behind? I haven't gone in yet!"

"You can sleep outside. I don't like being watched while I'm sleeping!"

(Who the hell wants to watch you sleep? I'm going to sleep with you, you jerk!)

Joey didn't voice his true feelings in the end, because he was still a man of pride. And people, aren't they always held back by their pride? °(°ˉ??ˉ?°)°?

"Well... goodnight!"

Joey simply said goodnight to Catherine, then leaned against the wall by the door, clasped his hands together, and drifted off to sleep.
