Chapter 50 Blood Pack Catherine

"Dear traveler, hurry on your way!"

Vivian was not disappointed. She was certain that her curse could not be lifted, and the monster inside her could reappear at any time. She did not want to hurt Joey anymore.

"Okay, if I ever happen to encounter a member of royalty, I'll do my best to take their virginity and save you!"

Joey's words were a promise, and a promise made without compensation, which was not something Joey would normally do.

Vivian smiled gently; it was a beautiful smile.

Joey walked to the corner, used his sword to cut open the silk cocoon, and Catherine's beautiful face was immediately revealed, though she looked to be sleeping even more soundly than a baby.

He crouched down, hoisted Catherine onto his shoulder again, gave her a hard slap on the bottom, said goodbye to Vivian, and left the bedroom.

As soon as Joey stepped out of the yard, she was already thinking about how to explain things to Mary Sue's mother-in-law and little Catherine when she got back.

Suddenly a gust of wind blew by, so strong that Joey couldn't even open his eyes.

Bang--

The door of the wooden house behind them slammed shut with a loud bang due to the evil wind.

With Catherine on his shoulder, Joey forgot his good habit of closing the door behind him.

"Waaaaah..."

The sound of a baby crying immediately came from inside the wooden house; it seemed that the noise had startled the baby awake.

"Oh no!"

Joey cursed inwardly, guessing that something bad was about to happen. It seemed that she had to maintain the good habit of closing the door behind her, otherwise the mother protecting her cubs could be quite frightening when she went crazy.

Just as he expected, the baby had been crying for a short while when a figure rushed out of the yard.

This was a human-sized monster, which, although it only had two legs and two hands, still gave Joey a chill down his spine.

The monster was lying on the ground, its two hands had turned into feet, its whole body was covered in fur, and four compound eyes, bright red as if stained with blood, had sprouted from its forehead.

Although it still retained some of Vivian's physique, its appearance was completely different. It seemed to be the monster that Vivian had mentioned, formed from the power within her.

Vivian is definitely protective of her own, otherwise she wouldn't have gone berserk after the baby was awakened.

Joey put Catherine down from his shoulder and laid her flat on the ground. He then relit the torch. It was too late to run now; they might as well fight this strange spider demon.

puff--

A glob of green liquid spurted from the monster's mouth and flew directly towards Joey.

Joey hurriedly ran away, and the green liquid fell directly to the ground, making a "sizzling" sound, indicating that the liquid was corrosive.

"This is a bit of a problem. I'm not Sun Wukong. If I really run into this deadly spider demon, I wonder if I'll end up here tonight?"

Joey held up his longsword and slowly circled the monster's body clockwise.

"call out!"

Another wisp of white spider silk shot towards Catherine.

"Hey, why are you getting involved with this silly girl? I just got her out of the water, and you're already planning to wrap her up like a dumpling?"

Joey stopped and immediately ran towards Catherine.

However, he was noticeably slower. Catherine was struck by the spider silk again and pulled by the monster. Within seconds, she was wrapped in a silk cocoon and placed on the monster's abdomen.

Joey missed his target and, unwilling to give up, immediately charged at the monster with his longsword raised in his hand.

"call out!"

Another swarm of spider silk shot towards him. Joey raised his sword to block it, but the silk stuck to his sword again and suddenly pulled him towards the cabin.

boom--

Joey raised the torch in his left hand and deftly burned the spider silk. The silk melted instantly, and his body stopped moving.

Speaking of dealing with spider silk, fire is a really good thing. Joey felt a bit more confident. It would be even easier if he could just enchant the longsword with a fire attribute attack.

I wonder if any craftsmen in this world have this skill; I'll have to ask them sometime.

The monster clearly hadn't expected Joey to burn through her spider silk, and it lost control of its strength, staggering back more than ten steps until it crashed into the fence outside the yard.

"roar--"

The monster let out a low growl, seemingly angry about the collision.

"Puff puff puff..."

The monster suddenly transformed into a jetpack warrior, spitting out more than a dozen green liquid splatters at Joey.

Although Joey was considered quite agile, he was outnumbered and was hit by three liquids, his clothes were corroded.

He hurriedly took off his clothes, revealing his bare chest.

"Another piece of clothing was lost, and I have to ask Catherine for reimbursement. It's all that silly girl's fault!"

Joey grumbled and began to charge.

This monster seems to be a ranged attacker; I need to close the distance with it, otherwise I'll just be passively taking hits.

The monster seemed to have seen through Joey's intentions, and then continued to spray venom at Joey as he charged towards it.

"Puff puff puff..."

Joey dodged left and right, using both the Lingbo Weibu (a martial arts technique) and the Qiankun Da Nuoyi (another martial arts technique), and finally closed the distance with the monster after being hit on the left shoulder by a piece of venom.

Ignoring the pain in his shoulder, Joey raised his longsword in his right hand and stabbed it into the monster's leg.

He didn't intend to kill; he only wanted to disable the monster, since Vivian, the poor single mother, was the monster's true form.

The monster sidestepped, shielding Catherine, who was in its abdomen, in front of it. Joey quickly stopped, having almost given Catherine a fatal blow. This woman was such a nuisance.
