Chapter 51 The Royal Princess

At this moment, Joey was extremely anxious, and a sense of helplessness swept through her entire body.

The monster was on the roof, completely out of his reach, and no matter how much he shouted and provoked it, the monster didn't budge and completely ignored Joey.

As the straw drew closer and closer to the silk cocoon, Joey's face turned ashen, and he began to chant the Rebirth Mantra for Catherine in his mind.

"Pfft—"

The mouthparts pierced the silken cocoon, and Joey seemed to smell blood.

"Gulp!"

The monster made a swallowing motion, indicating that the blood of that unfortunate child, Catherine, had entered her body.

"Farewell, my dear Lady Catherine, may there be no spider demons in heaven!"

Joey muttered something to himself, made the sign of the cross in front of him, and wondered if he could still contact Jesus in this world. He was just planning to run away.

If Catherine is dead, he feels there's no point in continuing the fight against this monster. Everyone should just go home and find their own mothers. If all else fails, a good night's sleep in a warm bed is a good alternative.

Joey sheathed his sword and prepared to turn and leave.

"roar!"

The monster on the roof suddenly let out a low growl.

The low growl was mixed with painful groans; it was not a pleasant cry.

"Drinking human blood can cause poisoning? Could it be that Catherine's blood, like her, is too fiery, causing this monster to get a fever?"

Joey rested his hands on his longsword, silently watching the monster's pained expression.

I was originally planning to leave, but since there's something interesting to watch, I'll definitely get some snacks and a small stool ready and have a good look!

Whether Joey was seeing things or not, the monster on the roof started trembling, as if it had epilepsy. Joey wondered if she should show some humanity and stuff a stick in its mouth or something.

The silk cocoon that Catherine was wrapped in had fallen from her abdomen, slid down the roof, and finally landed in the yard.

It seems that Catherine, this silly girl, is lucky despite her foolishness; she won't die this time.

Joey didn't think that a mouthful of blood would kill Catherine. After all, young women have a considerable amount of bleeding every month, so they're not afraid of a mouthful of blood sucked by a mosquito.

Joey didn't rush forward because the monster on the roof hadn't completely calmed down yet.

"ah--"

A piercing scream from a woman suddenly came from the monster's mouth on the roof.

Her trembling body continued unabated, and changes were occurring within it.

The downy hair on its body began to fall away, the four compound eyes on its forehead closed and slowly disappeared into its forehead, the terrifying mouthparts returned to a pair of red lips and white teeth, its waist began to straighten, and its hands returned to their original positions.

Vivian's barely-clothed silhouette was once again presented to Joey's eyes.

The changes had stopped, and Vivian's body went limp, and she began to fall down the eaves.

Joey dropped his longsword, rushed forward in a few strides, and caught Vivian in a princess carry as she fell, letting her head rest gently on his arm.

Since they were so close, even though Joey had no ill intentions, she began to look at the beautiful scenery in front of her with a natural and generous air.

"She must be a young mother who is breastfeeding; she's absolutely stunning!"

"This child is so lucky, he'll never go hungry!"

Joey ignored Catherine, who was still trapped in the silk cocoon, and instead carried Vivian into the house. After all, the baby was still crying, and the future flowers of the motherland were always more important than that hot-tempered beauty.

He placed Vivian beside the baby, who seemed to sense his mother's presence. After a few sobs, he immediately stopped crying, moved his mouth slightly, and then fell into a deep sleep again.

Having seen enough, Joey stood up, took off his coat and covered Vivian with it, waiting for her to wake up.

While Vivian was still asleep, Joey went outside, picked up the longsword, cut open the silk cocoon that wrapped Catherine, and carried her back into the house.

She had a small wound that had healed, but the blood that had seeped out stained a patch of her clothes red. Joey had just opened the wound to check it.

"Actually, this feeling of doing whatever you want is pretty good!"

Joey glanced again at Catherine's fair skin beside her wound, quite pleased.

The easygoing Catherine is still very much liked by Joey. After all, she is a beautiful woman with outstanding looks and figure, how could she not be liked!

"Uh..."

Vivian let out a soft hum and slowly woke up.

"Traveler, what just happened?"

Vivian propped herself up with her hands, intending to sit up. The clothes Joey had covered her with immediately slipped off, revealing her graceful figure once again to Joey.

Vivian, seeing her clothes slip off, blushed and quickly reached out to pull them up and drape them over herself.

Originally, because of the monster inside her, her clothes were often torn, so she didn't pay much attention to them. But now, seeing the clothes covering her body, the girl's shyness welled up in her heart again.

"Are you referring to the time you fought me after you transformed into a monster, or the time you were unconscious?"

Joey glanced at Catherine beside him, who was still unconscious.

"I know about the fight with you, but I couldn't control my body. What I'm curious about is what happened afterward!"

Vivian also turned to look at Catherine beside her; the bloodstain on her clothes had dried and looked somewhat black.

"So the curse within you has been lifted?"

Having witnessed Vivian transform from a monster back into a normal human form, Joey could guess some of the hidden secrets, but now he wanted to verify them.

"I think so, that restless power within my body has disappeared!"

Vivian responded softly to Joey's words, but her tone didn't reveal how happy she was about the curse being lifted.

"I remember you once said that to break your curse, you would need the blood of royalty, right?"

Joey got up and walked to the bedside, staring intently at Vivian.

"Yes, that's definitely true!"

Vivian seemed to understand why Joey had asked that question.

The two of them looked at Catherine, who was still unconscious.

"I never imagined that a princess from a royal family was hiding by my side!"

"Perhaps this silly girl doesn't even know her true identity!"

"That old man Daines really left me a hot potato!"

Joey suddenly looked away, recalling the journey from Tiger Rock Outpost to Gold Rush Town. He gradually understood why the small outpost had a Nine-Rope Knot Scholar like Daines, and why the tribe had gone to such lengths to mobilize a powerful army, including a sorcerer, to hunt down their four-person team.

Although some details are still unclear, it doesn't stop Joey from preparing to make exorbitant demands in Saipan.
