The big-headed doll was stunned by the sudden appearance of the little black creature and hesitated, no longer daring to go forward.
When Joey left Saibanda, she was still a little puzzled as to why the little black cat, who hadn't been close to her for the past few days, had jumped onto her head again and then snuggled into her arms.
It now seems that Little Black has a bloodline-based suppressive effect on these kobolds.
Aren't you an ancient god?
Isn't it big?
Why isn't it moving now? Joey felt that what he said was right: being big doesn't necessarily mean being powerful. Dinosaurs couldn't even beat 21st-century humans!
It's supposed to be a dog, yet it was intimidated by this little black cat. It's a disgrace to the canine family.
Many of the dogs lying prostrate on the ground also noticed the unusual situation and turned their heads to look in this direction.
However, they did not seem to be afraid of Xiao Hei; their eyes still held only reverence for the ancient god in their hearts.
They're definitely not on the same level; it's impossible to tell who's in the most danger.
With a leap, Little Black jumped directly out of Joey's arms.
It slowly approached the big-headed doll, while the big-headed doll slowly retreated, and it was already at the fire.
"Great Ancient God, please bless your people and devour all these despicable humans!"
The kobold priest crawled to the feet of the ancient god and pleaded.
"What a bunch of idiots! They've really ruined my life!"
The ancient kobold abandoned the priest and turned to plunge back into the flames.
Snap!
The flames in the center of the arena suddenly went out, and the ancient kobold was stunned, regretting that he had moved too slowly.
The kobolds, however, became excited and stood up from the ground, holding up their blunt stone weapons and looking at their ancient god with eager eyes.
There was no other way; he was truly caught in a dilemma. The ancient god kobold had no choice but to go in, and he didn't know who had cut off his escape route.
"Xiao Hei, did you do this?"
Seeing the flames suddenly go out, Joey immediately realized it was thanks to Little Black on the ground.
"Meow!"
Xiao Hei barked, but its eyes were fixed on the big-headed doll, which could be considered a response to Joey's words.
"I should have let that big-headed baby go first; that way, we would have been more stable in a fight!"
Joey's thoughts were different from Xiao Hei's. He believed it was best to avoid fighting such an eccentric opponent if possible, and he wasn't planning to take any risks.
A great battle was about to break out, and Joey drew his longsword from his waist and held it in front of him.
"You bastards, kill them!"
The big-headed doll pointed its weapon forward, and the group of kobolds immediately charged towards Joey.
He himself simply stayed where he was, showing no intention of making a move.
He's really a sixth man.
"Big Beard, it's time to go on stage!"
Joey shouted towards the spot where they had just been hiding, then charged forward with his longsword.
The bearded man and Sergeant Medes jumped out together, while the rest of the team sped towards them from behind.
"Big Beard, spare that old dog-headed man, but kill the rest!"
After Joey finished speaking, he stopped paying attention to what was happening with the bearded man.
A dog-headed man had already run up to Xiao Hei, raising a blunt weapon in his hand, ready to strike Xiao Hei on the head.
"ah--"
Instead of avoiding it, Xiao Hei opened its mouth wide.
Yes, Little Black really did open its mouth wide.
Suddenly, Xiao Hei's head grew as big as a bobblehead doll, and when it opened its mouth, it revealed its gaping maw.
Before the charging kobold could recover from its shock, it was swallowed whole by Little Black.
It all happened so fast that even Joey hadn't had time to react.
It really is a spirit pet! Its combat power is amazing!
Joey had always treated it as a spirit pet, so it wasn't too surprised to see this.
But the bearded man and Medes behind him were shocked, never expecting that an ordinary-looking little cat would have such abilities.
The other kobolds were also somewhat bewildered, but their muddled minds didn't allow them to think for long. Soon, their bloodlust overwhelmed their reason, and more kobolds pounced on them.
Little Black devoured them one after another, its belly seemingly having no bottom, providing Joey with ample cover.
Joey headed straight for the big-headed doll; all he wanted now was the skill of the big-headed doll in retrieving objects from thin air, and he didn't care about anything else.
"I only refrained from going myself out of respect for that cat, so don't go looking for trouble."
When the big-headed doll saw Joey rushing towards him, he immediately made a threat.
"Stop with the nonsense. Everyone's time is precious, so let's skip the chit-chat and get right to it!"
As Joey spoke, he swung his longsword down at the big-headed doll.
clang!
The big-headed doll blocked the attack directly, and its feet seemed quite agile.
Without wasting words, Joey went straight behind him, intending to launch a sneak attack from behind.
The big-headed doll immediately turned around, and very quickly at that.
Joey didn't get the better of him, and after turning around, he ran behind him again.
Although the big-headed doll has a large head, its footwork is relatively quick, so it seems that its brain is not completely filled with mush, and it does have some brains.
However, because his reaction was so fast, his big head started to wobble a little.
"Hey, I knew it! A top-heavy design can't possibly achieve a stable center of gravity!"
"Newton's laws of physics still apply in this strange world!"
Joey chuckled to himself, but instead of drawing his longsword, he circled around behind the big-headed doll once more.
