Chapter 92 Requires More Money

The inner room was piled high with countless ores.

Gold ore, silver ore, copper ore... there's even a fair amount of serpentine ore.

Camito was stunned. He hadn't seen so much ore in so many years that he probably couldn't even remember.

"Cartel, how did you actually get your hands on so much ore?"

"But these ores won't bring you hope now, they'll only bring you disaster!"

Camitor crouched down, picked up a piece of iron ore, and recalled his days in Baikanburg, smelting and forging iron with many copper-bearded men by the great furnace. Tears welled up in his eyes.

"Camille, you've come?"

Just as Camito was still lost in his memories, Carter's voice came from behind him.

"Cartel!"

Camillo quickly wiped away her tears.

He turned to look at Carter, looking somewhat embarrassed.

Obviously, he shouldn't be in the inner room, and of course, the piles of ore in the inner room shouldn't be here either.

"Did the city lord send you?"

Carter didn't waste any words. Since he had seen him here, it was obviously not a simple visit.

We're all smart people, so there aren't that many complicated details.

"I guess so. It was that bastard who's not even as tall as the two of us when he stands up, that annoying dwarf, who sent me!"

Camito's tone was apologetic, revealing his helplessness regarding his visit, which was not entirely innocent to begin with.

"What will happen if you don't tell the truth?"

“They will die, and my family will die too. You know, Lia is only a few years younger than Martha!”

"How much time do I have left?"

Cartel didn't blame Camito; he was just asking the questions he needed to ask.

"Two days! I'll give you three days at most, that's the deadline that bastard gave me!"

Camito's eyes were already darting away, unable to look Carter in the eye.

"Okay, I understand!"

"Thank you for telling me all this!"

"I'm so sorry, my old friend!"

"No need to say that, we all had no choice!"

"Thank you for your understanding, I'll be going now!"

"Have you had breakfast yet? If not, stay here, I haven't eaten either!"

Carter said, lifting up the bag of breakfast he was carrying and shaking it.

"And those two lazybones! I thought Martha would break her bad habit of sleeping in after she got a husband, but I didn't expect her to get up even later after being with Sam!"

"Okay, then I'll stay. It's been a long time since I've had breakfast with you!"

"Yes, staying is the right thing to do!"

Carter pulled Camito by the hand and walked out, but the commotion in Martha's room still hadn't subsided.

"Martha! Sam! Breakfast is ready!"

Carter laughed and called out towards Martha's room, and the noise inside immediately ceased.

"Father, you're back!"

Martha clapped her hands, indicating that she had just exerted a lot of effort.

The bearded man poked his head out, and then followed Martha out as well.

“Sam, this is Uncle Camito, also from Baikanburg, he’s an old friend of mine!”

"Martha has already introduced her!"

The bearded man was truly hungry. After last night's fierce battle and the "torture" he had just endured, all he could think about now was breakfast.

Joey once said that if someone isn't enthusiastic about eating, there's something wrong with their brain, but Beard is absolutely enthusiastic about eating.

He didn't care about Carter, who hadn't made a move yet. He crawled out from behind Martha, took the breakfast, and stuffed two large meat buns into his mouth.

"Look at this child, how rude!"

Carter grinned from ear to ear at the sight of the bearded man.

"Haha, we were the same when we were young, we forgot everything when we saw food!"

Camillo chimed in, and the two began to reminisce about their time in Baikanburg.

The dwarf outside the workshop was furious as he watched the people inside eating, drinking, and chatting so happily.

"Hmph, the city lord gave me three days, I'll give you two days. Don't blame me for being impolite then!"

After thinking about it this way, he calmed down a bit.

...

Joey led Little Black eastward.

Just as he was about to reach the gate near the tobacco field, the little black dog on his head suddenly became alert.

"Meow!"

It called out to a tall poplar tree standing at the gate.

Joey's expression also turned serious.

He slowly moved his feet, turning to the back of the poplar trees, where a large expanse of shadow stretched directly to the left of the tobacco field's gate.

"Crackling sound..."

A row of footprints suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

It walked towards Joey, who had already drawn his longsword from his waist.

"Meow!"

Xiao Hei's cry was quite loud, sounding less like a kitten and more like the growl of a wild animal.

The footprints stopped.

A moment later, the footprints quickly appeared in the opposite direction from Joey's.

Looking at the footprints in the distance, Joey breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that bringing Blackie along was indeed a wise decision.

Those footprints must belong to the female ghost. She followed Joey all the way here, and it seems she has no intention of letting him go.

However, since the little black guy had scared him away, the danger was naturally eliminated, and Joey could continue to act according to his plan.

"Bang bang bang—"

Joey straightened his clothes, stood in front of the gate of the tobacco field, and knocked on the door.

Bang!

Suddenly, a small window opened at about the height of a person in the main gate, and a human face peeked out from inside.
