The bearded man wasn't as quick-witted as Joey, and he immediately lost his composure upon hearing Carter's words.
"Ahem, big bearded man, don't speak yet, we're not talking about the same thing!"
Joey immediately interrupted the bearded man.
"We have one more day. I'll choose the best spot among these places, and we just need to leave Sandstone City safely before sunset tomorrow!"
After Carter finished speaking, he drew a circle around a town on the map.
"Before sunset tomorrow?"
Upon hearing this time, Joey relaxed completely.
"If it's not just before sunrise tomorrow, then we're not in a rush!"
Upon hearing Joey's words, Carter became agitated. He put down his pen and looked up at Joey.
"A day isn't short, but it's not long either. There's still a lot to prepare tonight. That silly girl, Martha, I haven't told her anything yet!"
"It's alright. Look at this bearded man. Even if you tell him, he'll still be clueless and won't understand!"
"Go to bed early tonight, and everything will be ready by tomorrow morning!"
Joey looked confident.
"Have you found the place?"
"Found it!"
"where?"
"Tobacco Field!"
"That's the area that Leggins is in charge of!"
"It's like the darkest place is under the lamp; the most dangerous place is actually the safest. I've already told him!"
Is it reliable?
"It has to be reliable. A generous reward will surely bring forth brave men. Leighins understands the saying that people will die for money, just as birds will die for food!"
"You really are a smart human being!"
"You flatter me. I'm just a working-class person whose edges have been worn down by life!"
Joey and Carter exchanged a smile, while the bearded man looked around at the two men with a bewildered expression, completely unaware of what they were talking about.
Carter folded the map back up and put it away, then let out a deep yawn.
"Alright, alright, you guys should go to sleep early too. I'm really tired today!"
He was already kicking Joey and the bearded man out.
"To be honest, I'm quite tired too, I've been busy all day!"
Joey pulled the bearded man out of the room.
"Big Beard, I'm going to bed too!"
"No, Joey, let's go to bed later. It's only this late."
When the bearded man heard that Joey was about to leave him behind, he panicked again.
"Big Beard, hang in there, get through tonight, and I'll come to rescue you tomorrow!"
Joey patted the bearded man on the shoulder as encouragement for his evening.
He was genuinely exhausted after spending the day in the tobacco field; he hadn't intentionally abandoned Big Beard.
"We've got a deal, you have to take me with you tomorrow!"
Joey had already headed towards his room, but after hearing the bearded man's earnest anticipation, he gave him an OK sign from behind.
