Chapter 98 Karl the Draenei's Business

Although I don't want to provoke them, I also don't want to have any conflicts with them.

Joey gave a word of advice to the digger in the pit, telling him to stop what he was doing. This made the digger a little unhappy. It wasn't until Joey explained that it was just a short break that the digger calmed down.

"Karl, come here!"

Joey walked a little further away; he didn't want this unfamiliar Draenei to find out that he had dug a hole.

The torches began to move again and soon reached Joey.

This is a tall Draenei with dark blue skin, a mark of their race. His hands are similar to those of a human, but his feet resemble bull hooves, and he has horns on his head.

"Hello, dear human friend!"

Karl appeared very polite, and the flame of his torch flickered constantly.

"Oh, hello Carl, my name is Joey!"

Joey extended his right hand, intending to shake hands with Carl.

But Karl was noticeably slower; this handshake was not a custom among the Draenei race.

However, after Joey's right hand froze in mid-air for a while, he finally understood and stretched out his own right hand as well.

“My people have heard about you. You arrived yesterday and today you even restarted the abandoned smelting furnace in the tobacco field. They are all very curious!”

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't let you know!"

“Dear Joey, don’t say that. We’re not the masters of this place. We’re just its prisoners!”

“Prisoners? But Leakins says you’re just his hired laborers!”

"Workers? Lord Leakins certainly gave us a fitting title!"

Karl gave a wry smile; it seemed he didn't accept the title of "worker."

Although Joey also had to come out, they weren't workers at all; they were more like prisoners.

"By the way, Carl, what brings you here so late?"

Joey wasn't there to chat idly; her digging plan wasn't over yet, and she couldn't waste time here.

When Carl saw that Joey was so eager to ask about his purpose, he hesitated for a moment, unsure whether he should tell her immediately.

“Karl, I am not one of Leggins’s men, nor the city lord’s men. I am just a traveler. I will leave as soon as this is over!”

Joey noticed Carl's concerns and tried to allay them.

"Since you've asked, great Joey, I do have something I'd like to discuss with you!"

"Of course, if you see this as a business deal, that's fine too. After all, I've heard from my people that you came here to negotiate a big deal with Leighins!"

Discussing business? This was something Joey hadn't expected.

He had assumed that he was disturbing the peace because he was new to the area, but he never expected that Karl had come to discuss business with him.

Joey enjoys doing business with people now; for example, he and Leaks just finalized a good deal, didn't they?

Joey looked at Carl with a meaningful smile, eager to see what kind of business Carl was talking about.
