Chapter 10 Deterrence

Seeing Lin Qinghuan staring at them with a gloomy expression, Lin's father felt a mix of anger, frustration, and helplessness.

We can't hit Lin Qinghuan now, because we're worried she might do something reckless and burn the house down. If we call the police to arrest her, it would be a disgrace to the Lin family, and we'd definitely be criticized.

Lin Piaoxue's face was deathly pale, and her eyes were filled with fear and unease as she looked at Lin Qinghuan.

Lin Feng looked at Lin Qinghuan with apprehension. This brat was a madwoman now, and he should avoid provoking her in the future.

Lin Qing touched his neck with lingering fear; the back of his clothes was soaked with cold sweat. He was very glad that he hadn't spoken rudely to Lin Qinghuan when she held the shard of mirror to his neck, otherwise he might be meeting the King of Hell by now.

Lin Ming stared at the dagger in Lin Qinghuan's hand, which was still stained with blood. His pupils contracted, a look of horror flashed in his eyes, and he involuntarily took a step back.

Lin Qinghuan looked at the Lin family members and saw the fear on their faces. A cold smile appeared on her lips. The soft fear the hard, the hard fear the ruthless, the ruthless fear the reckless, and the reckless fear the mad. And she was a madwoman.

In order to survive here, Lin Qinghuan doesn't mind being a madwoman.

Lin Qinghuan carried the sharp knife into the kitchen. After putting the knife down, she filled a bowl with rice and sat down at the table to eat. Her hand holding the bowl trembled slightly, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Lin Qinghuan has always been kind to others, but today she has driven herself into becoming a shrew, a madwoman, and the very thing she dislikes most.

The Lin family watched Lin Qing sitting at the table eating, and not one of them went up to criticize her. They were all worried that Lin Qing might get angry and attack them with a knife, or burn the house down.

Lin Qinghuan ate a bowl of rice and then returned to her room, slamming the door shut and locking it behind her. She was worried that the Lin family might try to harm her while she was asleep.

For your safety, it's better to be cautious.

Lin Qinghuan lay on the bed, tears streaming down her face. She was a promising doctor, reborn into the body of someone everyone disliked. Was it a blessing or a curse?

Lin Qinghuan looked at her hands, her eyes filled with helplessness and sorrow. She was a doctor, and she should have been treating the sick and saving lives. But she had come to this unfamiliar era, and she was actually taking up a knife to slaughter pigs.

Tears streamed down her cheeks, each drop representing sorrow, helplessness, and despair.

As Lin Qinghuan cried, she unknowingly fell asleep. Before drifting off to sleep, she told herself not to be sad or upset. When dawn broke, she would still be the invincible Lin Qinghuan. No one else loved her; she would love herself.

When the Lin family arrived at the pigpen, they looked at the fat pig lying on the ground howling in pain, and their faces showed surprise and fear.

Lin's father wiped his stiff face and said with a stern expression, "Eat first. After you've eaten, bring the pig out, clean it up, and take it to the county to sell it tomorrow, which is market day."

Lin's mother gritted her teeth and said, "That wretched girl Lin Qinghuan, how could she...?"

"Shut up! None of you should provoke Qinghuan in the future, lest she get angry and accidentally kill you, or burn the house down. What will we do then? Are we all supposed to beg for food?" Lin's father scolded.

"Are we just going to stand by and watch her run rampant?" Lin's mother said angrily.

Lin's father said with a gloomy face, "So what do you want to do? Kill her, call the police to arrest her, or kick her out? Why don't you just throw a packet of rat poison at her and take us all down with you?"

Looking at the large, fat pig lying in the pigpen, surrounded by blood, Lin's mother's face showed fear and trepidation. Her body trembled slightly as she said, "How dare this brat poke a pig."

"If you hadn't prevented Qinghuan from eating, she wouldn't have impulsively grabbed a knife and killed a pig," Lin's father said angrily.

"It's because she doesn't do any chores," Lin's mother said unhappily.

"Piaoxue doesn't do anything usually, so why are you making her eat?" Lin's father asked.

Lin's mother was speechless after hearing Lin's father's words.

"Qinghuan has become like this because you were too biased," Lin's father said, turning and going back to the kitchen.

Lin Qing and the others immediately followed, as they needed to be well-fed to have the energy to work.

Looking at Lin Piaoxue's pale face, Lin's mother said, "Piaoxue, you have to help with housework from now on, otherwise that brat Qinghuan will have a problem with it. Also, don't provoke her anymore, that brat has gone crazy."

"Mom, I understand. I'll try my best not to provoke Qinghuan in the future," Lin Piaoxue said.

After the Lin family finished eating, Lin's mother boiled water to scald the pig hair later. Lin's father, along with his three sons, carried the pig out of the pigpen.

Lin Piaoxue arrived at the room door and pushed it, but it wouldn't open. Lin Qinghuan had actually bolted the door shut. Where would she sleep tonight?

Lin Piaoxue stormed up to her mother, "Mom, Lin Qinghuan has locked the door and won't let me in!"

Lin's mother paused for a moment, then said, "You'll sleep with me tonight."

"Mom, I'm not used to sleeping in the same bed," Lin Piaoxue said.

"Then there's nothing I can do. That brat Qinghuan won't listen to me now. If you don't want to sleep with me, you'll have to find a way to get her to open the door yourself," Lin's mother said.

Lin Piaoxue stomped her foot in anger and said unhappily, "Mom, you don't love me anymore."

A hint of sadness and displeasure appeared on Lin's mother's face as she said, "Lin Piaoxue, ask yourself honestly, from childhood to adulthood, I have done my best to ensure you eat well and dress well, and I have never let you do any chores. When you say these words, doesn't your conscience hurt?"

Seeing that her mother was angry, Lin Piaoxue immediately realized that she had said the wrong thing and apologized, "Mom, I said the wrong thing just now. Please don't take it to heart. I was just sleepy and wanted to go back to my room to sleep. I didn't mean to say that. Please forgive me, okay?"

Lin's mother had always doted on Lin Piaoxue since she was a child. When Lin Piaoxue apologized, she only gave her a deep look before lowering her head and continuing to tend the fire.
