Danyangzi put the grilled fish on a plate and handed the plate to Chili, who was standing to the side watching after washing the vegetables.
"Whether you want to eat in the yard or the living room is up to you. I'll just cook one more dish and then we can have dinner."
Akari nodded obediently, and with a serious expression, slowly walked out of the kitchen carrying the grilled fish. Danyoko couldn't help but smile when she saw Akari's earnest little face.
Danyangzi opened the lid of the large pot and took out the rice that had been steamed in advance, letting it cool for a while so that it wouldn't burn her mouth when she ate it later.
He cast a cleansing spell on the large pot, then put some rendered lard into it. The white lard quickly heated up and melted, and Danyangzi began to stir-fry the vegetables.
Akari sat at the stone table in the courtyard, her mouth watering at the sight of the steaming grilled fish on the table.
Before long, Danyangzi was holding a wooden rice bowl in his right hand and a freshly stir-fried vegetable in his left, with two sets of bowls and chopsticks floating beside him.
The sky had completely darkened, and the bamboo courtyard could only be barely illuminated by the bright moon in the sky. Danyangzi placed the food on the table and pointed at the bamboo leaves above his head.
The dark green bamboo leaves glowed with a golden light, one leaf after another, until the entire bamboo leaf was enveloped in the light, illuminating the stone table below and Danyangzi and his companion.
"Alright, let's eat, or the grilled fish will get cold."
Akari nodded, took a bowl and chopsticks, and served herself a bowl of rice.
As a demon, she had only eaten rice a few times and was not used to this kind of food.
After thinking for a moment, Akari quickly took the bowl that was placed in front of Danyangzi, filled it with rice, and put it back in front of him.
Danyangzi stared wide-eyed, and by the light from above, he could clearly see that Chili's little face was slightly flushed!
Akari blushed, and he blushed too. Neither of them spoke, and they both picked up their chopsticks and began to eat.
Her chopsticks easily tore off a piece of meat from the grilled fish, and she popped it into her mouth. The crispy grilled fish made her eyes light up, and the addition of seasonings made the grilled fish even more delicious.
Seeing Chili's reaction, Danyangzi laughed and said, "Is it delicious?"
Akari nodded quickly. It wasn't that she had never eaten grilled fish before, but the spiced grilled fish that Danyoko made was delicious, even better than any grilled fish she had ever eaten before!
"Eat more, if you like it, I'll go catch more fish tomorrow."
Akari nodded in response to Danyangzi, her chopsticks flashing as she devoured large mouthfuls of fish.
Danyangzi was glad that the fish in the river were big and fat enough, otherwise there wouldn't have been enough for the two of them. The two of them finished off all the big fish except for the fish bones that they couldn't eat.
Akari ate a lot of rice. She found the rice to be very fragrant and soft, and it went very well with the grilled fish. She put down her chopsticks, let out a satisfied burp, and said, "I'll go fishing with you tomorrow!"
After finishing his meal, Danyangzi put down his chopsticks and wiped his mouth with a handkerchief.
"Okay, not only fish is delicious, but there are many other delicious foods too. Tell me what you want to eat, and I can make it for you."
As Danyangzi finished speaking, he noticed a grain of rice stuck to the corner of Akari's mouth.
Danyangzi was caught in a dilemma.
Would it be too abrupt if I reached out and removed the grain of rice for her, or should I tell her?
Although he was thinking about it, Danyangzi's hand moved first. He reached out and removed the grain of rice stuck to the corner of Akari's mouth.
Both of them were stunned by his action. Akari's face turned bright red instantly, a stark contrast to his fair skin.
"What are you doing?!"
Danyangzi quickly withdrew his hand and said apologetically, "I just noticed there was a grain of rice stuck to the corner of your mouth, so I unconsciously removed it for you."
Akari bit her lip and stammered, "Then, you, you could have just told me!"
Danyangzi was also extremely shy. He suddenly stood up and quickly cleared away the tableware on the table.
"No, I'm sorry, I'll go to the kitchen to wash the dishes." Danyangzi hurried towards the kitchen.
Akari lowered her head shyly, then looked up at Danyangzi's back with her watery red demonic eyes. She slumped down on the stone chair, and after a while, she looked up at the bamboo leaves that shone like stars.
"It's so beautiful," Akari thought as she looked at the dazzling "bamboo leaf lanterns." She felt her face burning hotter than when she was in the Burning Flame Nirvana Pool.
Akari didn't know what was wrong with her. Why was she so shy around someone she had just met, especially someone from the Immortal Clan whom she hated the most!
Instead of using a cleaning spell in the kitchen, Danyangzi chose to wash the dishes himself. Immersing his hands in the icy water did nothing to calm his restless heart; his mind was filled with Akari's adorable face.
"What's wrong with me?" Danyangzi asked himself, questioning his very soul.
Just now, even though I was still thinking about what to do, my hand had already touched it.
Danyangzi didn't understand why he would react this way to someone he had only known for a short time, especially a demon who had a long-standing feud with his race!
During the afternoon visit to the Bamboo Garden, Chili discovered a large bathtub for soaking in. Danyangzi said that some kind of magical herb was added to it, which was very good for the skin, and suggested that she try it.
Akari entered the bathroom. The misty environment made her feel comfortable. She closed the bathroom door, untied the sash of her dress, and the red sash fell to the ground. Then, Akari's black dress also fell to the ground.
The petite and graceful Akari, possessing a D-rank slime like Su Qing, stepped into the warm pool.
Seemingly remembering something, Akari turned around and raised her hand. The storage pouch hidden under her skirt flew into her hand. She took out a hairpin from it and carefully tied her hair up.
When, except for his head, his whole body was immersed in the incredibly comfortable pool water, Akari couldn't help but let out a groan.
"Ah, this feels so good~~~"
Akari closed his eyes and began to enjoy himself, but the image of Tanyoko's handsome but somewhat rough face, honed by years of training, kept appearing in his mind.
Thinking about the delicious dinner tonight, Akari pouted and muttered, "This guy isn't without his merits, is he?"
After cleaning up the kitchen, Dan Yangzi didn't see Akari anywhere and assumed she had gone back to her room to rest. So, Dan Yangzi decided to take a bath to relax and soothe her mood. She even added some herbal medicine to the bath to speed up recovery, killing two birds with one stone.
Previously, to prevent the steam from escaping from the bath and spreading throughout the room, Danyangzi always kept the bathroom door closed.
He opened the bathroom door, went in, and then closed it again. Without thinking, he took off his robe, revealing his well-built and muscular physique.
The bathtub emitted a lot of steam, and the entire bathroom was shrouded in mist, making it difficult to see anything.
When Akari saw Tanyoko walk naked to the edge of the pool, Tanyoko also noticed Akari bathing in the pool.
The two locked eyes. Akari stared intently at Danyoko, and when she saw her private parts, Akari felt a burning sensation in her nose. She touched it and found that it was bleeding from her nose.
The sudden shock caused Akari to faint and sink into the water. Danyangzi was stunned for a moment before he reacted and quickly jumped into the water to pull Akari out.
