Chapter 46 [VIP]

Chapter 46 [VIP]

That night, Pei Xingzhi tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep.

Half of it was because of Xie Nan's temper, and the other half was because of hunger.

He'd had an extremely tough few days. First, he was kidnapped by Xie Nanyi's father and forced to agree to this ridiculous marriage agreement. Kidnapping was bad enough, but the Xie family was so rich that they wouldn't even give Pei Xingzhi a meal. The poor guy was tied up all night, and when he got back the next day, he was so busy finishing his homework that he forgot to eat.

He finally remembered to eat something in the evening, but that damned Xie Nanyi came to provoke him again.

He realized he hadn't eaten for almost two days. Pei Xingzhi rubbed his empty stomach, wanting to go out and finish the remaining food on the table, but he was afraid Xie Nanyi would be waiting outside.

He regretted giving the instant noodles to his roommate because he didn't want the hassle of carrying them. After all, he didn't have to move anything. Why was he so concerned about the Xie family's driver? Now, he was starving and had nothing to eat.

Pei Xingzhi became increasingly concerned as he thought about it, and the feeling of hunger grew stronger. He got out of bed and ransacked the room. The room was very clean, with almost no room for any snacks. He turned the room upside down and only found a box of mints that he hadn't finished last semester in the closet.

While he was staying here, Xie Nanyi strictly controlled his diet. He always said he was too thin, so all his snacks were confiscated, and he was only allowed to eat what he prepared himself. Although Pei Xingzhi thought there was something wrong with him, Xie Nanyi's tearful complaints about his dislike for him were so convincing that Pei Xingzhi inexplicably agreed to his request.

Looking back now, Xie Nanyi was really good at acting.

Pei Xingzhi took a mint and popped it into his mouth, but immediately spat it out. He finally remembered why he had kept the box of mints.

He used this box of mints to stay awake while rushing to finish his homework; they were incredibly effective at waking him up. He'd only held them in his mouth for a few seconds when a burning, stinging sensation filled his mouth. The reason he hadn't thrown them away was because he wanted to use them to prank Xie Nanyi later, but unfortunately, he never got to use them.

Not only had he failed to find anything to eat, but he'd also been tricked by the mint candy. Furious, Pei Xingzhi threw the candy aside and sulked as he lay back down on his bed. This run-down dorm hadn't been lived in for so long; there wasn't even a drop of water left.

Pei Xingzhi tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep, so he simply turned on his phone and played a sleep-inducing video to lull himself into drowsiness.

The pattering of rain entered Pei Xingzhi's ears. He lay flat, his body vacant, and the more he listened, the more he felt that the sound of the rain was like the sound of his mother frying crispy pork.

Crispy fried pork, fried chicken, roast meat...

Hunger was relentlessly stimulating Pei Xingzhi's brain, and he sat bolt upright. He absolutely had to find something to eat!

Pei Xingzhi gently opened the door and peeked out. The living room lights were off; Xie Nanyi must have gone back to his room. He couldn't see the dining room from his room, but given Xie Nanyi's spoiled nature, he wouldn't bother cleaning up the leftovers. So, the food was most likely still on the table. As long as he kept quiet, no one would notice.

Pei Xingzhi's plan was perfect, but unfortunately the dormitory curtains were too good at blocking out light, so he couldn't see the road in front of him at all.

Turning on the lights directly would easily alert the snake, so Pei Xingzhi used the dim light from his phone to tiptoe into the dining room.

After moving closer to Xie Nanyi's room, Pei Xingzhi heard rustling sounds around him. He subconsciously turned off his phone and waited until the surroundings became quiet again before continuing to move towards the dining room based on his memory of the room's layout.

Nothing else matters; his most important thing right now is to eat.

Pei Xingzhi moved to the dining table based on his intuition. Judging from his sense of smell, Xie Nanyi hadn't taken his food away yet. Pei Xingzhi smiled contentedly, touched the edge of the table, and opened his phone, ready to dig in.

The phone's faint light shone, and Pei Xingzhi looked up to see Xie Nanyi sitting opposite him, staring straight at him.

"Ah—a ghost—" A person suddenly appeared in the darkness. Although Pei Xingzhi realized that the person was Xie Nanyi, his body still screamed first and punched Xie Nanyi repeatedly with both fists.

Pei Xingzhi admitted that he was acting out of spite, and that he deliberately used more force.

Xie Nanyi withstood his attack, grabbed his arm, and forcefully pulled Pei Xingzhi into his arms.

The light turned on with a "click," and Pei Xingzhi's hands were held by Xie Nanyi, who held him tightly in his arms.

"Let go of me!" Pei Xingzhi frowned involuntarily as he looked at Xie Nanyi's face. He was in a bad mood and didn't want to get into any more trouble with Xie Nanyi.

"Are you hungry?" Xie Nanyi ignored his words, glanced at Pei Xingzhi, and then at the leftover food on the table.

"What's it to you! Can't I just come out for a drink of water?!" Pei Xingzhi, annoyed and embarrassed by being exposed, glared at her.

Xie Nanyi looked down at him. Pei Xingzhi's anger was not intimidating at all. It was like a kitten hissing at its owner. As long as he coaxed it a little, the kitten would foolishly forgive him.

"The food is cold. I just cooked some porridge. Would you like some?" Xie Nanyi looked down at him. Unlike the arrogant young master before, his eyes were filled with grievance, and his mouth was drooping unhappily. Pei Xingzhi looked at his extremely perplexing face and even felt that he could see his drooping ears.

"Let me go first."

Pei Xingzhi looked away; he simply couldn't resist Xie Nanyi's face.

"Do you want to eat?" Xie Nanyi let go of him and asked softly again. "Your stomach isn't good to begin with, and these dishes are already cold. If you eat them, you'll definitely feel unwell tomorrow."

"I'm done eating." Pei Xingzhi didn't need to make things difficult for himself, after all, he came out to find food.

Upon hearing Pei Xingzhi's words, Xie Nanyi's eyebrows instantly lifted. He smiled and pressed Pei Xingzhi into a chair, then quickly walked to the stove, ladled out some porridge, and brought it over.

Pei Xingzhi had already tried Xie Nanyi's cooking. He was already very hungry, and Xie Nanyi sitting next to him did not affect his appetite. Pei Xingzhi quickly finished his porridge. Having achieved his goal, Pei Xingzhi did not want to stay any longer and have any unnecessary interaction with Xie Nanyi. After giving the housekeeping robot a cleaning command, he got up and was about to leave.

Xie Nanyi had been sitting quietly to the side. When she saw Pei Xingzhi finish eating and get up, Xie Nanyi quickly went over and grabbed Pei Xingzhi's arm.

"What are you trying to do now?" Pei Xingzhi impatiently shook off his hand. His premonition was right; Xie Nanyi wouldn't behave so quickly.

"Xiao Zhi..." Xie Nanyi tugged at Pei Xingzhi's sleeve with her right hand, bowing her head slightly and stammering. He seemed a little embarrassed, pursing his lips and struggling with how to start the conversation.

"What do you want? If you have something to say, just say it. If not, I'm going to sleep."

Pei Xingzhi's attitude emboldened Xie Nanyi, who reached up and grasped Pei Xingzhi's hand, slowly saying, "May I kiss you?"

Pei Xingzhi knew that Xie Nanyi's opening remarks were anything but good. Although he was prepared, he obviously did not expect Xie Nanyi to be so bold as to directly bypass physical contact and engage in internal communication.

He glared at Xie Nanyi with a look that seemed to say, "Do you want to die?" He was about to refuse when he suddenly remembered something fun. His expression changed several times, and he gave a sly smile, revealing his lone little tiger tooth.

“Xiao Zhi…” Xie Nanyi gently tugged at his clothes again, looking at him with a pitiful expression. Pei Xingzhi’s refusal was within his expectations. He didn’t intend to do everything at once. He only needed to lower Pei Xingzhi’s bottom line step by step, and he could still get everything.

"You mean, you want to kiss me?" Pei Xingzhi suddenly changed his attitude, which left Xie Nanyi unsure of what he was thinking. Based on the idea that he wouldn't lose out no matter what Pei Xingzhi did, Xie Nanyi nodded.

"I want to kiss you." He said this with great determination and honesty, as if he could pounce on Pei Xingzhi and give him a deep French kiss the moment Pei Xingzhi nodded.

“Okay.” Pei Xingzhi looked at his eager face and smiled mysteriously, then said, “Then close your eyes.”

Xie Nanyi sensed that Pei Xingzhi was up to something bad, but she still obediently closed her eyes.

Is it okay now?
