"Alright, go back to your room and get some sleep." Xing An pulled a book out from under her pillow.
Wu Yue didn't answer, but she went out.
After a while, he came in carrying a bowl of porridge.
"Porridge? We have rice on our warship?" Xing An was surprised this time.
Wu Yue nodded.
"I thought the best thing would be nutrient solution." After all, she had been drinking nutrient solution since she came to the warship.
"That still can't completely replace food, eat it while it's hot." He said, shoving the bowl and spoon into Xing An's hands without saying another word.
Xing An couldn't refuse, so she forced herself to swallow the porridge. The rice in the porridge was still undercooked, so perhaps... it was made by the man in front of her himself.
Xing An became suspicious and asked, "Did you do this?"
"No." Wu Yue frowned and turned her head away. "It was made by the cook."
Xing An didn't expose him and forced himself to swallow the half-cooked porridge.
"Is it delicious?" Wu Yue asked hopefully.
Xing An wanted to nod, but fearing that he would harm his stomach with this porridge, he said, "It's alright."
"I see." Wu Yue probably realized that she hadn't done a very good job, so she didn't say anything more. She just waited for Xing An to finish eating, then took the bowl and chopsticks and went out.
Two days later, Yun Jie came to see her, and when he saw her, he actually shed two tears.
"Ugh... I'm about to die and you're making me cry?" Xing An couldn't stand it anymore; a grown man was actually wailing and sobbing.
“You shouldn’t go to the battlefield anymore,” Yun Jie said to her very seriously, looking into her bright eyes. “Last night I dreamed that you went to war again, but your combat equipment malfunctioned and you crashed on a planet, your fate unknown.”
These words sounded like a curse to Xing'an, and she was immediately enraged. She said, "What do you mean 'you' and 'me'? Call me Executor! What kind of depressing things are you saying every day? The moment I stood on the warship, I decided that as an Executor, I must go to the battlefield! This is my mission, my duty!" Or perhaps it was her obsession.
Yun Jie wiped away his tears, knowing he couldn't persuade her, so he just sat there for a while and then left.
What Xing'an didn't know was that for many years to come, she would refer to Yun Jie as—a jinx.
...
Lionheart Kingdom.
Su Chen's village is once again hosting its annual matchmaking ceremony, where lion-men from other places come to find partners. Of course, there are also other types of beastmen from other planets who might come to join in the fun.
The most popular orcs are the fox orcs, known for their plump and charming figures, especially their long, narrow fox eyes, which exude allure in the blink of an eye.
Indeed, fox spirits are a species that is popular in the human world, the beast world, or rather, all kinds of worlds. There is no one who doesn't like them, whether they are in the sky or on the ground.
Even a woman like Su Chen couldn't stand watching this, let alone a male lion-man.
Su Chen glanced at Bai Ze, who was sitting among the male lion-men who already had mates. Fortunately, he wasn't looking towards the fox clan. Just as Su Chen looked over, he also looked up at her, staring at her with a suffocating gaze.
Su Chen blushed with embarrassment. It was strange, because she was someone who never blushed in any situation, but she was very shy in front of Bai Ze.
Sitting next to Su Chen, Hu An couldn't help but tease, "You two are really something! Other people are on blind dates and you're still flirting with each other. You don't even know when to show your affection!"
Su Chen withdrew her gaze and retorted, not to be outdone, "Your partner is the same, their eyes are practically glued to you!"
"Oh my, Su Chen, your little mouth has gotten sharper?"
The two of them started laughing and joking.
