"What are you not?" Su Chen asked curiously.
"It's nothing." Yue Feng shook his head with a wry smile. Ever since he chose to follow the Third Prince to this enemy country, he had considered the possibility that he might not be able to return. In fact, because of his decision, the Marquis's mansion stripped him of his title as heir apparent. In reality, he was no different from the Third Prince's guard now.
Su Chen sensed that Yue Feng was hiding something but did not point it out. She put the precious jade pendant into her purse and then tucked it into her bosom.
"Let's go boating." Su Chen stood up and patted Yue Feng's shoulder beside her.
Yuefeng asked in confusion, "Rowing? Now?"
Su Chen nodded and, without saying another word, pulled him out of the Unmoored Boat.
"Don't worry about your master, he and the Tenth Princess are safe here."
Even if the Tenth Princess was not favored, she was still considered a princess and would inevitably have bodyguards protecting her. Su Chen knew that at least three were lurking outside, and of course, Yue Feng, who had stronger internal energy than her, already knew this. Therefore, Yue Feng did not struggle when Su Chen pulled her out.
Following the original owner's memories, Su Chen found a small wooden boat, pushed it into the water, and lightly jumped into the boat. Yue Feng followed her in.
Su Chen picked up the oar and asked Yue Feng, "Can you row a boat?"
Yuefeng nodded.
Su Chen handed him the oar and instructed him, "Let me tell you, I can't swim, so be careful."
Yuefeng didn't say anything, but the boat was exceptionally stable when he rowed.
Su Chen lay down, resting her head on her arms and gazing at the night sky. Perhaps because Mingyue was there, her fear of the night wasn't as pronounced as before. Listening to the babbling water beside her, she felt an urge to cry for some reason.
It was as if... as if all of this had happened before, as if she had once experienced this peaceful tranquility with someone on a boat trip on the lake. (Pay attention, this is one of the foreshadowing elements; many observant readers have already found it in the previous text~)
Su Chen's heart skipped a beat, and she asked Yue Feng, "Does this place feel familiar to you?"
Yuefeng frowned. "I've never been here before, how could I possibly be familiar with this place?"
Su Chen laughed, laughing so hard that tears streamed down her face; she herself felt completely bewildered.
Before they knew it, the two had reached the middle of the river. Suddenly, the boat began to rock as if it had encountered a giant wave. In a panic, Su Chen rolled over and asked, "What's wrong? Is there a whirlpool?"
But no one answered her. Yuefeng stood on the wooden boat, surrounded by calm waters and still waves.
As Su Chen was wondering, the boat suddenly capsized, and she fell into the water, swallowing a mouthful of water.
The underwater world was cold and suffocating. Su Chen dared not open her eyes or wave her arms. She felt only fear, but she had to force herself to relax so that her body could float.
She didn't have time to think about why she had fallen into the water; she only felt that she was about to suffocate and die underwater. Finally... she couldn't hold on any longer, and water poured into her nose. She felt a burning pain, not knowing when it would end, until a flash of white light appeared, and she completely lost consciousness.
...
"The brocade feathers call to each other in the evening sands! Your name is Brocade Feather? Then I am the Evening Sands!"
"No! Take me with you! I'm different from other little demons, I'm easy to raise!"
"Jinyu! Don't go!"
"Jin Yu..."
In Su Chen's dream, there was a girl's silvery voice. She wanted to see the girl's face clearly, but it was as if a layer of fog had enveloped her, and both people and scenery were blurry.
Who exactly is this girl named Jin Yu?
