"You?" Benjamin looked down at him as if he were an ant.
"What? Can't I leave?" Athel hardened her heart.
The next second, Su Chen exclaimed in surprise.
Benjamin grabbed Athel by the neck and lifted her up. "Just a blood slave."
Su Chen, disregarding her fear of him, quickly stepped forward and pried open his fingers, "Count! Ethel is pregnant! With your child! Put her down right now!"
If they keep pinching like this, it will surely result in the death of both mother and child.
Sure enough, Benjamin seemed dazed when he heard "pregnant" or "your seed," and his clenched hands slowly loosened.
Su Chen quickly caught her from behind, afraid that Aether might fall to the ground and miscarry.
"It's because I'm afraid you won't want this child, afraid I won't get any equal treatment or respect from you. That's why I want to escape!" Su Chen shouted, not caring that this person might snap her neck at any moment.
"Ha, how old are you? What do you know?" Aither sneered.
“Some things aren’t about how long you’ve lived to see them clearly; it’s about how long you’ve lived and you’ve only experienced one kind of life!” Su Chen said hysterically, as if she was venting all the resentment she had felt over the past few days.
Benjamin didn't say anything, and it was unclear whether he had listened or not.
He simply took Aether from Su Chen's arms and left without looking back.
Wait until the two of them disappear from her sight.
Su Chen suddenly stamped her foot, "Oh no, is Arthur in trouble?!"
Before I could even turn around, someone grabbed me from behind.
The familiar scent calmed the goosebumps on Su Chen's body.
Su Chen's first words were, "I thought you were dead."
Arthur chuckled and said, "I'm not that bad."
Su Chen: ...
The two of them hugged each other for a long time in that corner that night...
The days that followed were not so peaceful.
Su Chen was taken back to the hunter's lair by Arthur, and heard that Benjamin had also returned to the castle in Polidori.
A major battle is imminent.
"Why did you bring me back? I was doing just fine at the border, living a comfortable life." Su Chen slumped in her chair, picking her teeth.
Arthur stepped forward, picked up a tissue, and wiped her mouth. "I feel uneasy when you're not by my side."
"Hehe, aren't I amazing? I'm here to protect you." Su Chen pouted.
"Yes, you're amazing." Arthur smiled and pinched her little nose.
"Next time I make blood clots, make them a little spicier. I like spicy food." As she spoke, Su Chen let out another burp.
Arthur shook his head. "I can't eat spicy food; it's bad for my stomach."
Su Chen said angrily, "I'm already dead, why should I care about my stomach? Being able to eat for even one day is a blessing."
After hearing this, Arthur's eyes darkened, and his long eyelashes drooped.
After a while, he squatted down, his amber eyes fixed on Su Chen, and said, "Promise me, protect yourself, and don't die again."
Su Chen blushed under his gaze. "Alright, alright, I promise. Why are you looking at me like that? Go do your thing."
Arthur nodded and turned off the light in her room. "Okay, I'm busy now. You should go to sleep early."
Su Chen nodded and obediently lay down in bed.
As the footsteps faded into the distance, Su Chen's closed eyes snapped open.
What a joke! Vampires are always nocturnal! How could they be up during the day and asleep at night?
Su Chen smiled wickedly, a red light flashing in his eyes, and he opened the window and "flew" down.
"My hands are itching, I'll catch a few deer to drink their blood tomorrow!"
