“Um… Tommy, the one who turned me into a vampire, is like family to me,” Su Chen explained hesitantly.
Upon hearing this, Arthur's smile widened even further. "I understand."
As soon as Su Chen finished speaking, she thought to herself, "Strange, why should I explain to him? If he's jealous, so what? What does it have to do with me?"
Seeing her annoyed expression, Arthur reached out and pinched her cheek.
Su Chen was stunned by the pinch, and more importantly, it hurt.
It didn't take long for it to get angry and snap back.
Arthur didn't dodge, letting her pinch him, and occasionally chuckled foolishly.
Su Chen felt a chill run down her spine from laughing, thinking the kid had gone mad.
"Hey, we've only known each other for a few days, why are you jealous?" Su Chen asked, pouting. "Or are you jealous of everyone who has a good relationship with you?"
"Seeing you getting along well with others makes me inexplicably angry," Arthur sighed. "I've never felt this way before."
Su Chen felt a little happier after hearing this.
"By the way, Count Polidori should be back soon," Su Chen reminded him.
Arthur asked in confusion, "Why?"
“Aither is here. Aither is his personal blood slave.”
“Even so, how did he know she was still alive?” Arthur still had questions. “Wasn’t it Count Polidori who killed her?”
Su Chen shook her head.
"Vampires mark their exclusive blood slaves, and the location and physical condition of the blood slaves are communicated to the vampires through these marks."
Tommy, as a veteran vampire, couldn't possibly be unaware of these things. The only reason he listened to me and let her go was because someone else had sent him to kill her.
"Who could it be?" Arthur asked.
Su Chen: "Anyone could be. All the members of the Polidori family, or... the family that suffered the most losses in the war."
"Be prepared. The Earl might think you kidnapped Ethel on purpose."
Su Chen left after saying that. She couldn't stay there any longer. What kind of scene would it be for a lone man and woman to be out so late at night?
The system couldn't help but complain: "Have you forgotten who sneaked into someone else's room?"
Su Chen knew Benjamin Polidori would come, but she didn't expect him to come so quickly.
As soon as Su Chen returned to the room, she saw something hanging upside down by the window...
Is this world haunted? That's scary.
Moonlight shone through the dark figure, and Su Chen took a closer look before realizing it was a man hanging upside down.
The man's robes, when unfolded, resembled two enormous wings.
The window was opened silently, and the man flipped into Su Chen's room.
Su Chen was so frightened that she kept backing away.
The newcomer narrowed his eyes, seemingly quite displeased.
So Su Chen stopped and even shuffled forward a little.
The newcomer spoke, "Lilith."
Su Chen immediately put on a fawning smile, "Hehe, Earl."
"What? You've been arrested too?" Benjamin's gaze fell on Su Chen's face with an ambiguous meaning.
"Hehe, yes." Su Chen continued with a fawning smile.
"Is this your reason for revealing the vampire's defenses?" Benjamin's face was half-hidden in the darkness, making him look like a terrifying demon.
Su Chen shook her head vigorously, "How could that be? I'm not even qualified to know about the defense diagram."
Benjamin sneered, "Ha, so you're holding her hand?"
"You mean Athel?" Su Chen quickly waved his hand. "I rescued her because she was being chased. I didn't hold her back... I didn't even know her before."
