Chapter 420 Interstellar Escape (Forty-Five)

"You've lost weight. Haven't you been eating well?" Bai Ze reached out and touched Su Chen's face with his large hand, then called out to the outside, "Make some meat soup and bring it over!"

"Chief, what kind of meat do you want for the soup?" A green-haired monster suddenly flashed in from outside.

"Holy crap! What is this thing?" Su Chen was so scared that she kicked her legs far away.

“I’m not a thing,” the green-haired monster said unhappily. “I’m a turtle man.”

"A green-haired turtle?" Su Chen covered her mouth and said.

"I..." The green-haired monster wanted to say something, but felt a chill assail it. Without even looking up, it knew the leader was displeased. The green-haired monster remembered its brethren whose heads had been twisted and shells smashed by the leader, and it shuddered and dodged away.

"Wow! That turtle runs so fast!" Its speed is amazing.

“It’s been three years since we last met, and you…” Why aren’t you looking at me? Bai Ze stared at Su Chen with a mournful expression.

Su Chen's smile faded, and she turned her head, saying expressionlessly, "Oh, so you know it's been three years since we last met?"

"I……"

Before Bai Ze could finish speaking, Su Chen interrupted him, "Do you know how I got through the three years after I thought you were dead?"

Bai Ze said with heartache in his eyes, "I'm sorry."

Su Chen turned her head. "I came here having fun eating snacks and setting off firecrackers, so..." She smiled and said, "No need to apologize."

"Really?" Bai Ze also withdrew his expression of heartache and looked at her with a probing gaze.

Su Chen narrowed her eyes, a hint of coquettishness appearing at the corners of her eyes and brows. "What? After three years, is this how you view your wife?"

Bai Ze was momentarily stunned, but quickly regained his composure.

Seeing that he didn't speak, Su Chen continued, "Could it be that you've been pretending to be stupid in front of me for the past three years?" As she spoke, she raised her fair wrist and traced the outline of Bai Ze's face with her index finger.

"I didn't." Bai Ze grabbed her wrist. "I had amnesia back then."

"Oh, you've lost your memory." Su Chen let him hold her without struggling. "Then what was your original identity? The leader of the orc legion? Or... the culprit who killed Xing An's adoptive father back then?"

Bai Ze didn't answer, or rather, he didn't know how to answer.

Just then, outside the hatch.

"Reporting to the leader."

Bai Ze released his grip on Su Chen. "What is it? Come in."

The hatch opened wide, and a person walked in.

Su Chen turned her head to look...

This person... isn't that Wu Yue, who's been missing for three years?! How could she be here?!

Su Chen felt her brain wasn't working properly. She tapped her forehead and suddenly remembered the details of Wu Yue's disappearance that she had learned: after Wu Yue was stabbed by Xing An, it seemed that a white figure had saved him.

White shadow...isn't Bai Ze's beast form a white lion?!

Su Chen stared wide-eyed at Bai Ze. This… shouldn't the villain and the protagonist be enemies? Why is Bai Ze helping Wu Yue? Is this world going to collapse? Is this how the plot is headed?

Su Chen cursed Ning Wu's ancestors for eighteen generations in her mind again. Seriously, without a plot, she's practically blind! Her biggest cheat ability is gone, how am I supposed to complete this mission? Ugh!

"Who are you?" Wu Yue felt like she'd seen this woman somewhere before, but where exactly...

"You're Xing An's friend!" He remembered! The woman Xing An insisted on protecting back then was the one standing before him!

"Get to the point!" Bai Ze snapped impatiently from the side.

Wu Yue then came to her senses and said, "Chief, I want to go back."

Bai Ze scoffed: "What? Giving up a perfectly good strategist position to rush back and become a traitor?"
