Houses loomed faintly among the layers of green hills, then vanished in the blink of an eye. Figures appeared and disappeared in the deep green forests. Some had long white tails swaying in the wind, their fur smooth as silk, while others were covered in scales that gleamed like sharp swords. From time to time, heart-wrenching roars echoed from the empty forests...
One of these gorgeous modern villas is hidden in a dense, lush mountain forest, surrounded by lush green trees and a cool river. Inside the lush green courtyard, flowers and plants flourish, and in the pond, koi fish of various colors, red, gold, white, and black, swim faintly.
A young man in a moon-white Tang suit sat cross-legged on a flat, smooth stone, holding a handful of bamboo shoots in his hand and throwing one into the air from time to time.
A clear chirp echoed as a bird with a beautiful tail pecked at bamboo shoots hanging from the sky. Its blue-green feathers shone with a multicolored sheen, and its flapping wings stirred waves of wind, causing the soft black hair of the young man below to sway gently in the breeze.
After eating a bamboo fruit, the blue-green phoenix waited for a long time but the next bamboo fruit was not thrown up. It looked down and found that the boy was in a daze. Then it flapped its wings into the air and kicked the boy's cheek with one claw.
"What are you daydreaming about, Xia Xia?"
A neutral, crisp, and somewhat childish voice emanated from the phoenix's beak.
Jing Xia reached out and grabbed the little phoenix that was deliberately making trouble on his head, put it aside from the stone, and handed the bamboo stick in his hand to it.
"No."
"No wonder I saw it all."
The phoenix transformed into a young man in green clothes. After taking the bamboo fruits, he threw them into his mouth one by one and nudged Jing Xia with his elbow.
"Hey, are you thinking about leaving the gap tomorrow?"
"Um"
"I heard that you were the first among us to leave on a mission, and you went on a solo mission, even though my father and the others had teammates with them at the beginning."
"Well, after all, I still have a few years until I become an adult, and I'm not officially a tasker yet. How could I have a task in advance?"
"I don't know." The young man in green clothes held his cheeks with his hands and looked outside the villa.
"But just like my father said, there's a connection between the mission and the person who does it. Maybe your next chance for transformation lies there... Maybe this time you'll finally reach maturity."
The boy's originally delicate face with red lips and white teeth seemed a little vulgar under the unspeakable expression. He leaned his head on Jing Xia's shoulder and spoke in a low voice.
Jingxia rolled his eyes and grabbed the remaining bamboo shoots and threw them into the pond on the side, attracting the koi to scramble for them.
"You're still talking about me, aren't you still underage?"
"Oh my god, I don't know what gender I'm going to choose when I grow up..."
While playing around, the two men didn't notice another huge figure appearing outside the fence.
"Xiao Zhuo, Xiao Xia"
A low voice with a slightly hoarse and a hint of fatigue made the two stop playing and turn to look at the figure under the woods.
A giant white python was coiled under a tall tree, its scales flashing with fiery red lines like flames. Its slender snake pupils carried the coldness of a cold-blooded animal, yet it looked at the two fighting teenagers with a smile.
"Hey! Ajue, you're back."
The young man in green clothes called Xiao Zhuo turned into a little phoenix and flew to the head of the giant python. He rubbed the scales on the snake's cheek affectionately, then squatted directly on the python's head, raised his wings and waved them towards the other young man.
"We were just talking about Xia Xia's mission tomorrow. Ajue, can you tell Xia Xia what to pay attention to when doing the mission? Also, did you have any fun during this mission? Tell me about it."
The python shook its head slowly, but with a very small amplitude to prevent the bird on its head from sliding off.
"Xiao Xia's mission is quite special. I'm sorry I can't give any advice."
"It's okay." Jing Xia didn't mind. Looking at the little phoenix that had ruthlessly abandoned her and was still chirping on the python's head, she said something maliciously with a little revengeful intention.
"Azhuo"
"ah?"
"Has anyone ever told you that you look like a little sparrow?"
Feeling the chirping little phoenix above its head suddenly petrified because of its friend's sharp tongue, and not forgetting to use its fluffy wings to hold its head to prevent it from sliding down, the white python smiled with its eyes curved.
"I'll take him home to play first. Xiaoxia will tell your Aunt Huang for me later."
"good"
"And...you'd better look in the mirror before you go."
After the white python finished speaking, it crawled into the depths of the woods with a blue-green down hat on its head.
After a while, aggrieved voice and whispers of comfort were heard from the woods.
"How can I look like a sparrow? My feathers are so beautiful!"
"Well, our Ah Zhuo is the most beautiful phoenix..."
After listening to Bai Mang's words, Jing Xia raised his hand and condensed a water mirror. The person in the mirror had originally smooth hair that was messed up, and there was a small claw mark on one cheek.
!!! Feng Zhuo, don’t let me catch you next time!
The worry he had about leaving tomorrow was relieved a lot. Jing Xia stretched and thought, never mind, there will always be a way when you reach the mountain, and the boat will naturally go straight when it reaches the shore. So he returned to the villa.
The next morning, in a bedroom on the second floor of the villa, as the doorknob turned, a tall and slender, handsome man slowly walked into the bedroom, his golden eyes looking gently at the boy on the bed.
"My dear, it's time to get up and go."
"Well, it's still early..." Jing Xia muttered, turned over, wrapped the quilt tightly, and prepared to return to Zhou Gong's arms.
The man walked to the window with a helpless look on his face, pulled aside the white curtains, and pushed open the glass window, letting the warm sunlight shine into the second-floor room. The sunlight hit the young man, making his soft black hair glow with a golden halo, and his fair skin looked as flawless as jade.
