Chapter 31 Liu Shasha's Movements

For summer in mid-latitudes, the sea breeze this morning was a bit too cold.

Liu Shasha shrank her neck and came to the deck of the cruise ship. The port of Ake appeared in her sight.

Hearing footsteps behind her, she turned around and saw An Sheng and an old man standing behind her. Behind them were many other people, but they all followed behind tacitly, keeping a subtle distance from the two people in front.

The old man's name was Terramil, the great wizard of the archipelago where Ansheng was born.

After Ansheng left his hometown, Terramir led an uprising initiated by the lower classes, and in the following years it swept across the entire island, completing the unification of the country and faith.

Now people living in every corner of the island have a unified belief in the Great Witch. They regard Terramir as the messenger of God and worship him.

Liu Shasha bowed slightly to Terramir. Although she did not approve of this strategy of governing the country with religion in her heart, she had great respect for this old man who had single-handedly ended the island's separation and separatism.

"Sister Shasha, we're getting ready to go ashore." Ansheng waved to Liu Shasha. He looked at the old man beside him with a look of respect and a hint of fanaticism. However, this fanaticism was well concealed, so outsiders couldn't see it.

More than half an hour later, a speedboat was lowered from the cruise ship. There were four people on board, including the pilot who was controlling the direction at the stern, Ansheng, Terramil and Liu Shasha.

The speed of the speedboat was increased to the maximum, and the hull was tossing up and down in the waves. The white waterline left when the bow broke through the water surface dragged behind the hull for hundreds of meters before gradually dissipating.

At first, Liu Shasha was a little worried about Terramil's condition, but she soon realized that the old man with a white beard was actually sitting more steadily than herself. His skinny hands tightly grasped the metal guardrail of the ship's side, and his bright eyes stared at the approaching land.

"Have you been to Ak before?" Liu Shasha couldn't help but ask.

"Have you been there?" Terramil turned his head and looked at Liu Shasha. He stared at Liu Shasha with his bright eyes, as if he was recalling something from the past.

"It's better to tell me when I left."

Liu Shasha was stunned.

"I grew up in the slums of Acre and later followed the fleet to the Liman Islands."

Telramir's tone was low and melancholy, his white robe and turban fluttering in the sea breeze.

After getting ashore, the vehicle of the Liman Islands Embassy had been waiting there for a long time. The three of them got in the car and headed straight for the evacuation point in Xinjianuo District.

No one spoke along the way. Terramil and Ansheng closed their eyes to rest, while Liu Shasha, who was sitting in the passenger seat, stared blankly at the scenery outside the car that was rapidly receding.

Despite still harboring doubts, Liu Shasha had already developed a deep trust in Ansheng after their interactions. This boy had truly given her so many surprises. A while ago, after the two of them flew to the archipelago, it was Ansheng who persuaded the Great Wizard to personally travel to the United States of Acre to meet with local officials. Ansheng also paid out of his own pocket to charter an entire passenger ship, allowing thousands of locals to arrive in Acre first.

Although the remaining people cannot leave the archipelago for the time being, as long as the meeting is completed, Ansheng is confident that he can persuade the politicians in Acre to help organize the evacuation operation in the southern hemisphere.

However, the content of the meeting was confidential, and even Liu Shasha was not informed, which was what she was worried about.

Terramil explained that Ansheng had contacts within the UN, but there were also people from there in our team. Although he didn't know their identities, he kept the details secret between him and Ansheng to prevent them from preparing in advance.

Half a day later, the car arrived at the outskirts of the evacuation point and stopped in front of a checkpoint.

The car passed the checkpoint very smoothly. Since it was an embassy vehicle, the checkpoint guard only verified its identity and relevant documents and let it pass immediately.

The group drove straight into the temporary housing area. This was the living quarters designated for those awaiting evacuation, consisting of hundreds of thousands of model rooms. Upon arrival at the evacuation point, people would be assigned rooms based on the number of available rooms and the order of their evacuation numbers. After evacuation, the rooms would be handed over to the next occupant.

Those who were not allocated housing could only return home or live on the streets.

Terramil had already opened his eyes, staring intently at the chaotic, crowded streets outside, and at the crowds of people staring blankly at the cars on either side. Many of these indifferent people wore tags around their necks, printed with their personal identification information and evacuation numbers. Most of those wearing the tags were not native to Akko, but refugees from neighboring underdeveloped countries. Without access to higher education or mobile devices, they had no choice but to wear their numbers around their necks. Every morning at nine o'clock, they checked the electronic sign at the intersection for the updated evacuation numbers to see when their turn would come.

After the residential area is the core area of the entire evacuation point.

The car was forced to stop because the road ahead was completely blocked by a dense crowd of people who had left the residential area and were waiting to board the shuttle.

The shuttle's capacity was limited, and each batch could only transport about 100,000 people. So even if someone's number was called, they would often have to wait in line for three days before their turn came.

Terramil and Ansheng got out of the car one after another, and Liu Shasha followed.

Following Ansheng's instructions, Liu Shasha did not disguise herself, so the moment she appeared outside, she was recognized by the security personnel responsible for maintaining order around her.

The news that the Secretary-General, who had been missing for many days, appeared at the Xinjianuo evacuation point immediately spread throughout the United Nations. More than ten minutes later, except for the driver, the remaining three people appeared in the VIP room of the Xinjianuo evacuation point.

The VIP room was originally the office of the owner of a small local supermarket. Due to the tight deadlines, the decor wasn't luxurious, but that didn't mean it wasn't sophisticated. As a place for receiving important guests, the walls were covered in yellow sound-absorbing foam, and the floor was covered in thick, genuine wool carpet. A golden crystal chandelier hung overhead, casting dazzling light and shadows on the solid wood furniture.

"Your Excellency the Secretary-General." As the person with direct say in the Xinjianuo evacuation point, Andrew naturally presided over the meeting.

He first invited a few people to sit on the leather sofa in the middle of the room, then quickly returned to get cups, plates and other items for entertaining the guests.
