Chapter 94 Business Termination

While Lin Xiao was checking flight bookings, Wei Changfeng and Zhao Hui went to Xiangyu Group to terminate their contract.

The termination ceremony was held at the headquarters of Xiangyu Group. There weren't many people working overtime at the company on the day off, but there were still a few people working there in twos and threes.

When Wei Changfeng walked in, the female colleagues gasped in surprise, unable to remain calm no matter what they tried.

His male colleagues looked at him with rather complicated expressions, some praising him as "this guy is really handsome," while others seemed to harbor a strange sense of rejection, as if thinking, "Oh, so what if he's a celebrity?" Fortunately, Wei Changfeng was already used to all of this.

But to his surprise, Yang Xishu, the person in charge of the client, did not show up at all.

The legal representative of Xiangyu Group produced the termination agreement that she had already signed. Wei Changfeng was a little angry. He had called them back from afar, but they had disappeared. Moreover, it was she who had broken the contract first.

Such behavior shows a complete lack of basic manners; rich people really don't treat others like human beings.

Although he was a little annoyed, the thought of not having to see that infatuated girl again was a relief. Replacing the absent client representative were two legal counsels and a finance manager from Xiangyu Group. Wei Changfeng's side also consisted of three people: himself, Zhao Hui, and a legal representative from the brokerage firm—a three-on-three balance.

There were actually many other convenient places to arrange the meeting, but since the Yang family chose the Xiangyu Company headquarters, Wei Changfeng guessed they were trying to intimidate them with their presence. However, the termination terms had already been largely agreed upon before they arrived, so why go through this trouble again?

Wei Changfeng signed his name on the termination agreement with a flourish. As agreed with Zhao Hui and himself, and after consulting with the boss Wu Fei, they were no longer obligated to pay the penalty for breach of contract.

The termination agreement had been successfully signed, but unexpectedly, the other party's legal counsel added a sentence: After this termination, Mr. Wei is requested not to mention anything about Ms. Yang in any form.

Wei Changfeng frowned and couldn't help but ask directly, "What do you mean by this?"

The legal counsel of Xiangyu Group did not expect Wei Changfeng to be so direct and was momentarily speechless. Another person quickly chimed in, "That's right, that's right. If Mr. Wei and Ms. Yang have had any prior dealings, all information and content must not be disclosed in any form, otherwise we reserve the right to pursue legal action."

Even a fool could understand what he meant. Wei Changfeng sneered. So Xiangyu Group thought he and Yang Xishu had something going on and were worried that the collaboration wouldn't go through and he wouldn't get the endorsement fee, so he unilaterally hyped things up and even exposed some content.

"Our legal team reserves the same rights. We also request that Ms. Yang cease sending me messages and making phone calls, as this is disrupting my normal life and work!"

"Changfeng," Zhao Hui saw that he was getting anxious, so he quietly tugged at his sleeve under the table and whispered to comfort him, "Don't be angry, let's talk it out."

His concern was that whether or not he made the money from the endorsement was irrelevant, but offending Xiangyu Group, one of the top companies in China, would be a huge loss.

Wei Changfeng was young and angry, so he spoke harshly. He was usually quite tolerant, but the other party had unilaterally breached the contract first, and they hadn't even asked for the penalty for breach of contract. Yet they were suspected of having an affair and warned not to use this as blackmail. Who could swallow such a serious character assassination and insult?

The agency's legal representative, naturally siding with their own company, stated sternly, "Ms. Yang Xishu, please do not contact our artists unilaterally for any reason in the future. If this causes any negative impact, we reserve the right to pursue legal action."

Yang Kai was in the next room of the conference room and had heard everything clearly. He now understood that his daughter really wanted to use this so-called business collaboration to woo an artist.

Regardless of what the other party is thinking, now that our side has unilaterally breached the contract, and the legal staff member has spoken without any tact, it's no wonder Wei Changfeng is angry.

At that moment, he pushed open the door and walked in. The legal and financial staff of Xiangyu Group immediately jumped up from their chairs upon seeing the chairman.

Zhao Hui also stood up reflexively. Wei Changfeng was sitting in his chair. He saw the person enter the conference room, looked at everyone, and then slowly stood up.

Yang Kai walked up to him with a smile and said in a friendly manner, "You're Xiao Wei, right? May I call you that?"

Seeing the reactions of the people from Xiangyu Group, Wei Changfeng guessed that the person who came was probably Yang Xishu's chairman father.

After standing up, he calmly bowed slightly and said, "Mr. Yang, you're too kind. You can call me Xiao Wei or Changfeng."

Yang Kai walked up to him and extended a hand. Wei Changfeng paused slightly, then reached out and shook his hand.

"Xiao Wei, I apologize to you on behalf of Yang Xishu. I promise she will not harass you again."

"Mr. Yang, I misspoke just now, please forgive me." Seeing that the other party was very polite, Wei Changfeng also nodded politely in apology.

Yang Kai saw that the young man in front of him was wearing a light-colored casual suit, was tall and thin, and had a handsome appearance. His words and deeds were also quite proper, so Yang Kai actually felt a bit of goodwill towards him.

Before this, he had assumed the man was a kept man by his daughter, a dissolute young man who harassed and pursued rich girls for money. Now it seemed he had misunderstood; it was Yang Xishu who had started harassing him first.

"How stupid! Trying to pick up a handsome guy isn't this absurd. Giving someone ten million without getting anything in return?" As Yang Kai thought this, he instantly reverted to a businessman's mindset, using money to measure efficiency and results. He immediately felt that Yang Xishu was incredibly stupid.

With the contract terminated, and given the unpleasantness, there was no reason for them to have another meal together. Yang Kai had his secretary escort Wei Changfeng and his group downstairs to say goodbye.

He turned and went into his office, taking out a business plan for starting a business in France from under his desk. The submitter was none other than his youngest son, Yang Xile.

After Uncle Zhai returned from dropping off the person, Yang Kai handed him the proposal: "Take a look at the rationality and feasibility of this proposal. I really don't know much about the situation over there."

Uncle Zhai took it and glanced at it, then laughed, "Xile, this kid was conceived in just over six months? Not bad at all. No wonder she didn't come home for New Year's Day and Spring Festival; she must have been doing some market research over there, right?"

"Let's see before drawing conclusions. Maybe it's just all show and no substance, all looks and no substance." Although Yang Kai said this, his eyes and tone couldn't hide his relief. Of the four children, at least one or two should be able to handle things.

“Okay, I’ll go back and study it carefully. But I’ve been away from France for almost twenty years, so my assessment of the current business situation there may not be accurate.”

"It's alright, I trust your judgment." Yang Kai glanced at Zhai Di, showing great trust.
