Wei Changfeng has a large number of fans all over the country. During his last trip to France, his agency was pleasantly surprised to find that he also had quite a few fans abroad.
Zhao Hui couldn't remember who was who in this huge group, but he recognized a few familiar faces every time he picked them up or dropped them off at the airport, so he knew some of the older and more popular fans.
He didn't recognize the faces of the women outside the car, but each of them had fan club trinkets hanging from their backpacks. How could Zhao Hui not recognize them?
He asked the driver, feigning ignorance, "What are they going to Hengdian film studio for? To film a movie?"
The driver chuckled and said, "Going to see celebrities! You wouldn't believe it, would you? These girls are from Xi'an, just got off the plane like you. Tell me, aren't they just bored and have nothing better to do than fly all this way to see celebrities?!"
"I originally didn't want to take any other jobs after accepting yours, but someone in our team's group chat just mentioned that these young women are looking for a ride because their previously booked driver canceled, and they're asking if anyone can pick them up in Hengdian. I thought it was on my way, so I asked you."
Zhao Hui didn't want to ride to the film set with his fans. Although he didn't know most of them, most of them, or even the vast majority of them, knew him!
Whenever Wei Changfeng receives a good offer for a project or a commercial endorsement, he and Xiao Hao are showered with praise from fans.
However, if any problems arise, such as when Wei Changfeng was injured last time, he, Xiao Hao, and even their boss Wu Fei were all subjected to scathing online abuse by fans.
Fortunately, he had been an agent for many years and was used to these situations. New agents, on the other hand, need a long time to mentally prepare themselves when they are scolded every day.
Even though they've worked hard, they still get criticized and resentful. Sometimes it's hard not to feel resentful, but you can't take it out on celebrities. They're innocent too, so in the end you can only resolve it yourself.
Fans can't imagine or understand the hardships and struggles of this job. They only think that working alongside celebrities every day is such a happy and honorable thing, something they'd be happy to do even without pay!
Therefore, when the famous brokerage boss Yang Tianzhen was recruiting assistants online, she had strict requirements, but she received thousands of self-recommendation resumes in just one day.
Zhao Hui rolled down the car window and looked outside. It wasn't dark yet, and there were many cars waiting for fares on the roadside. She and her friends should be able to hail another car to Hengdian.
He flew in from Beijing, and those fans flew in from Xi'an. I wonder whose flight took longer. One was for work, the other for passion; I wonder who went through more hardship.
Just as he was about to refuse the driver's offer to share a ride, he heard the girls nearby exclaim in a low voice, "Ah! It's Zhao Hui! Is it him? I'm not mistaken, am I?"
"That's right, it's agent Zhao Hui! Ah, we didn't come to the wrong place! The information in the group chat is correct! Brother must be filming in Hengdian!"
"Then why is he here? Why isn't he in Hengdian?"
The three little girls recognized Zhao Hui in the car and were so excited that they hugged each other, jumped up and down, and spun around. They looked like they were about to cry.
Although they were whispering, Zhao Hui had already heard them because they were so excited.
Looking at the innocent faces of these children who still looked like students, Zhao Hui felt a mix of emotions, including a touch of sadness and emotion. Sometimes, this is how celebrities and fans mutually benefit each other.
Even though it can be annoying at times, without this support and love, many artists might not be able to make it through this bumpy road in the entertainment industry.
Despite his feelings, Zhao Hui knew it was unreasonable for an agent and fans to ride in the same car to visit the set. So, just as Zhao Hui was about to tell the driver to leave, the three young girls cautiously approached.
When they arrived at his car, they looked inside and, confirming that Wei Changfeng wasn't there and that only the driver and Zhao Hui were inside, they suddenly bowed to Zhao Hui and said, "Hello, Brother Hui!" This completely stunned Zhao Hui.
They must have gotten used to hearing Xiao Hao and Wei Changfeng call Zhao Hui that, so they just copied them.
Zhao Hui nodded slightly awkwardly. The driver next to him was stunned, looking at Zhao Hui and then at the young girls: "You know them? You know them?"
Before he could answer, the three girls said in their clear voices, "Brother Hui, this is a letter and a gift we brought for Brother Changfeng. We're worried that we won't be able to find him on set and won't be able to deliver it. Could you please take it to him for us? Thank you so much!"
Upon hearing this, the driver's eyes widened again, his face filled with disbelief: "You, you?" He couldn't even finish his sentence.
Zhao Hui is a bit introverted and not very good at or willing to deal with fans, but since they had already handed him a paper bag containing letters and gifts, it would be really unreasonable not to accept it.
So he took the bag through the car window and looked inside. It contained beautifully wrapped little gifts and a letter sealed in a pretty envelope. Although the bag was small, he knew it was filled with the heartfelt wishes of his fans.
Seeing him take the bag, the three girls bowed again, thanked him repeatedly, and quickly ran off. Before he could even refuse to share a ride with them, the fans must have felt even more awkward and nervous.
So, to the driver's astonishment, Zhao Hui said calmly, "Driver, you can go now. The people you wanted to share a ride with have all run away."
"Oh, okay." The driver snapped out of his daze and quickly started the vehicle.
After driving for about ten meters, Zhao Hui saw the girls again. He rolled down the window and called out, "Be careful when taking a taxi, don't worry your brother!"
Upon hearing Zhao Hui's words, the girls cheered excitedly again, shouting towards the departing car, "Thank you, Brother Hui! We love you!"
Sitting in the car, Zhao Hui felt a flush on his face and rolled up the car window completely.
The driver next to him was secretly observing him as he drove, as if he were watching a rare giant panda in a zoo.
After driving for about twenty minutes, the driver finally couldn't hold back and asked, "You, you're the big star's friend?"
Zhao Hui didn't know how to answer, so he simply said, "A staff member of the company."
"Wow, that's amazing! That celebrity is so famous, even I, who don't watch TV dramas, know him!"
"They must make a lot of money, right? I heard they earn millions a day! Is that true?"
"No wonder you take a private car even though it's a journey of more than an hour. You must make a lot of money, right?"
"Oh, to be honest, I also want to see a celebrity! Before you arrived, those girls were saying that the celebrity they're following looks like a 'god descended from heaven,' hahaha."
The driver seemed to have opened a book of 100,000 questions, filled with curiosity about celebrities and the people around them.
Unfortunately, Zhao Hui wasn't really interested in talking to him. After asking around for a while without getting much feedback, he gradually quieted down.
