Deer Crying Flowers

Deer Crying Flowers

As it turned out, God's method worked.

Just as he approached the Canggu Temple with Lu Yixin's hair in his arms, a flash of emerald green light appeared. He stretched out his fingertip and thought to himself that the barrier had indeed disappeared.

There were very few guards patrolling inside the temple. Shen Qiexing concealed his presence and paid special attention to the space between their brows.

There were no green leaves.

He thought he hadn't noticed, but it seems that this ancient lily of the valley only appears when its master activates it.

The interior of the Ancient Temple is intricate and complex, somewhat like a giant maze, leaving the gods at a loss as to where to begin their search.

Just then, a group of guards came around the corner, and Shen Qiexing, taking advantage of the fact that they couldn't see him, brazenly followed behind the group.

"I really don't know how much longer the king can hold on."

"When I went to the fox clan to deliver something yesterday, I overheard them plotting something. But they stopped talking as soon as I arrived. I don't need to guess to know that it must not be anything good."

"Alright, stop talking, there are too many people around."

The squad leader glared at them and put a finger to his lips.

"King Sen was the best ruler...it's just a pity..."

Shen Qiexing suddenly remembered what Lu Yixin had said a few days ago but didn't finish, and couldn't help but frown.

What does this mean?

A significant crisis seems to have emerged somewhere within the Forest King's organization.

He leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, connecting the sentences together.

King Sen has been on the throne for a long time, and his influence and deterrent power have gradually weakened. His subordinates seem to be eyeing his position covetously.

That's really strange.

King Sen was, after all, the king of a clan. How could he tolerate his clansmen launching such a rebellion? He was far too lenient.

If it were within the Dragon Clan, and anyone dared to instigate a riot, the Xuanhai Dragon God would immediately exile them to the Tingni God Rank, where they would be struck dead by lightning.

Such a ruler is better off without.

The Ancient Temple is ridiculously large. On the first night, Shen Qiexing only memorized about a quarter of the route and location, and planned to explore it again the next night.

By this point, he hadn't slept for two days and two nights.

Fortunately, he was a god, and apart from being a little tired, he did not experience any other discomfort.

However, Lu Yixin still discovered the problem.

"You seem to have developed dark circles under your eyes these past few days."

Lu Yixin pressed his shoulder and made him sit in a chair. She went back to her bedroom and brought out a small white jar. She dipped her finger in the jar and carefully applied it to the dark circles under his eyes.

"This is really useful. When I was little, I was afraid of the dark and couldn't sleep all night. My grandfather gave me a jar of flower oil. I would apply a little before going to bed every day and I could sleep soundly all night."

The delicate fragrance instantly filled the room. Shen Qiexing felt slightly uncomfortable and frowned, but Lu Yixin slapped him hard, saying, "Don't move! It'll get in your eyes."

“You must be a bad sleeper, always kicking off the covers at night,” Lu Yixin said, pulling the covers over him and scolding him with a stern face. “Kicking off the covers will give you dark circles under your eyes. That’s what Grandpa Sen told me. He never lies.”

Shen Qiexing's face instantly darkened.

Is the thief crying "Stop thief!"?

When it comes to sleeping posture, no one can be uglier than her.

Who was it that had half their body hanging off the bed in the middle of the night and he had to push them back in? Who was it that had their knees sticking up to their face and couldn't breathe and he had to put their knees down? Who was it that had their hands and feet flat on the ground and he had to wipe them clean? Who was it that could kick the blanket out the window in the middle of the night? — He had to search carefully for several days to find the blanket.

I really don't know how she did those moves.

And he hasn't slept for three days already!

Lu Yixin put away the small jar and said while wiping her hands, "I'm going to Bixiao Lake to ask Zhaozhao to help me pick lotus flowers. You can come with me too."

She nodded her chin and winked at Shen Qiexing, "It just so happens that Zhao Zhao wasn't feeling well last time, so you two haven't officially met yet. Come with me to get to know each other today."

Shen Qiexing figured it out; he couldn't get too close to water sources on land.

Otherwise, it would be too easy for others to see through it.

“I think I won’t go,” he said, tying his long hair up loosely and letting it fall over his left shoulder. He then reached up and brushed a stray hair from Lu Yixin’s forehead behind her ear. “I’m currently learning to make pastries, so you can try them when you get back.”

Lu Yixin swallowed hard. "Alright then, I'll just have to borrow the kitchen from the Canggu Temple to avoid having to go home."

"What did you say?"

Lu Yixin repeated, "I said I was going to borrow Cang Gu... Huh?"

Shen Qiexing took her hand, his face beaming with joy, and laughed heartily as they went out the door. "Come on, I'll go with you."

"But that's not what you just said!" Lu Yixin stumbled as he pulled her, looking up at him in surprise.

As expected of Shen Qiexing, he came up with a solution in a second. He lowered his head, pursed his lips slightly, and a blush rose on his face.

"Actually, I'm a little afraid of water. I didn't tell you just now because I was afraid you'd worry," he gently touched Lu Yixin's cheek, his eyes filled with sadness. "I didn't want to put you in a difficult position."

Lu Yixin believed it as expected. She quickly recalled the strange expression on his face that day by Bixiao Lake. It turned out that he was afraid of water.

She frowned and Shen Qiexing guessed what she was thinking. This little deer fairy could always make her own reasoning. Isn't that a talent in another sense?

However, she seemed to really take every word he said to heart. Whenever they came across a stream, she would use the flower vines on her arms to weave a net bridge for him, allowing him to cross the river without touching the ground.

“Wait for me here,” Lu Yixin stopped in front of a bush and gestured for Shen Qiexing to sit on a rock nearby. “Bixiao Lake is just ahead. Don’t faint.”

Shen Qiexing couldn't help but laugh; he wasn't that fragile at all.

However, Lu Yixin would be gone for a while before returning from picking lotus flowers, so he looked around, searching for something to pass the time.

Lu Yixin stayed inside for about the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, and when she came out, she looked completely bewildered and confused.

She saw God walking and ran toward him in terror.

"Zhao Zhao seems to have gone mad!"

"She was babbling in the water, I couldn't understand a word! Her expression was terrifying, and she was slamming her fist on the water, breaking several lotus leaves!"

"I asked her what was wrong, but she didn't answer me. She just used her finger to draw on the mud...? But I couldn't understand what she was drawing at all!"

Words of power are quite formidable.

"Relax, relax, maybe she hasn't fully recovered yet," Shen Qiexing calmly covered her eyes, leaned down slightly, and whispered in her ear, "Little Deer Fairy, I have a gift for you, guess what it is?"

"wreath."

God Walks: ......

"I just saw it by accident," Lu Yixin exclaimed. "Okay, okay, just pretend I didn't see it. What are you going to give me?"

"......wreath."

"Really!" Lu Yixin clasped her hands together, her doe eyes sparkling. "I love flower wreaths the most!"

This line doesn't sound like acting at all.

Shen Qiexing was infected by her charm, and the corners of his lips couldn't help but turn up. He took the flower wreath he had just made and put it on her head.

She is a deer spirit in the forest, running through grassy slopes and dense woods, her antlers occasionally brushing against flower branches, leaving the flowers on her body as a symbol of her wildness.

"You're going to the Canggu Temple next, right?" Shen Qiexing patted her back and smiled. "Go ahead, I'm an outsider, so I'll go back first."

"Mmm," Lu Yixin nodded, "My lotus flower pastries are delicious, you should try a bite later!"

He watched her enter the Ancient Temple, then, as before, concealed himself and quietly followed behind her.

“Xin Xin is here again,” the cook greeted her familiarly, making room for Lu Yixin. “Yesterday, the king said that he has cultivated a new batch of lotus seeds and plans to plant them in Bixiao Lake in a while.”

“Okay,” Lu Yixin smiled, her eyes crinkling. “I’ve recently developed a new flavor, I’ll make some and send it to Grandpa later.”

She went in and out of the kitchen, greeting everyone she passed with a smile, as if they were on very good terms. Shen followed closely behind her, experiencing a life he had never known before.

Perhaps in Lu Yixin's world, only those who, like her, are marked by the ancient lily of the valley can find the time to exchange a few words with her.

They didn't even meet the standard of being friends; they were merely nodding acquaintances.

Therefore, she cherishes everyone who is willing to get close to her.

She's really pitiful. I bet besides him and Zhaozhao, she doesn't even have a single close friend.

Moreover, he was only doing it to take advantage of her.

etc.

Why has he suddenly started feeling sorry for others? Who will take pity on him?

Shen Qiexing covered his forehead, his face darkening.

He even made her a flower wreath; he must have nothing better to do.

We must not forget the purpose of this trip.

No matter what, this little deer fairy was just a fleeting figure in his revenge plan.

That's all.

"Sister Shao, look how pretty the flower wreath on my head is!" Lu Yixin held a tray in one hand and pointed to the flower wreath that she hadn't taken off her head with the other.

"Wow, that's really great!" Sister Shao circled around her twice. "You wrote it yourself?"

“It was written by a friend of mine.” Although she was still a little embarrassed, she emphasized the word “friend”.

"Xin Xin, I'll be happy if you make more friends."

Sister Shao gently ruffled her hair, then hurried away to get back to work.

In a group, those who are different will always be ostracized.

Everyone saw the grievances Lu Yixin suffered when she was young. As she grew up, her soft and gentle nature made her more vulnerable to being bullied. Therefore, the people of the Canggu Temple tried their best to help her. It would be best if she could find friends she could rely on.

As Shen Qiexing watched her constantly adjusting the position of the wreath in front of the bronze mirror from behind the corner, a strange feeling inexplicably arose in his heart.

Lu Yixin is right. Lotus flower pastry is indeed her specialty. She strives to do her best in every step of the process and is very particular about the ingredients. The moment the lid is lifted, the fragrance of lotus flowers mixed with the sweetness of red beans perfectly balances the richness of the pastry. It is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a flowing red bean paste filling. Shen Qiong couldn't help but smell the aroma, and felt refreshed all over.

Little Deer Fairy seemed to have said she'd make it for him to try...

"Aunt Hu, I'll take this first drawer to Grandpa first." Lu Yixin held the food box and nodded slightly to Aunt Hu.

"Go ahead, be careful not to burn yourself. I'll keep an eye on the heat for you."

It was truly effortless. Shen Qiexing raised an eyebrow and followed Lu Yixin out of the kitchen.

He finally got to see the legendary Forest King in person.
