Chen Zhennan was taken aback, then a mischievous smile appeared on his face. He asked in a high-pitched voice, imitating a woman's voice, "Do you like it, sir?"
"Of course I like it, Lian'er," the prefect of Qingzhou mumbled, half-asleep.
Chen Zhennan suppressed a laugh and continued to imitate the woman's voice, saying softly, "Then you must take good care of Lian'er, sir."
The prefect of Qingzhou closed his eyes, his face full of ecstasy. "Of course, Lian'er, come here, let me pamper you properly."
Upon seeing this, Chen Zhennan couldn't help but laugh out loud. He quickly got up and moved away, because if he continued, he would become a tender blade of grass.
"It seems that your taste is truly unique, but I am not some 'Lian'er'."
Upon hearing Chen Zhennan's voice, the prefect of Qingzhou suddenly opened his eyes and was instantly sobered up.
"Who...who are you? How did you get in here? You're asking for it!"
Chen Zhennan smiled coldly, gripping the dagger as he leaned against the window.
"My lord, didn't you just call me Lian'er? How could you forget so quickly?"
The prefect of Qingzhou gritted his teeth, rolled out of bed, and glared angrily at Chen Zhennan.
"Who exactly are you? If it's robbery, this government will send its officers to arrest you. If it's sexual assault, you should have seen those two girls; they're yours."
Chen Zhennan snorted lightly, "Did you give the order for the Qingzhou soldiers to impersonate bandits and commit robbery and violence?"
Chen Zhennan had originally anticipated a heated debate, or an awkward silence following a firm denial.
However, the prefect of Qingzhou looked up and laughed, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
"So what if I am? Kid, it seems you've come with ill intentions. Whoever you are, you're going to die tonight! Guards!"
With a loud shout from the prefect, the door was kicked open with a bang.
But the next second, the prefect's smile froze instantly.
"General, all the yamen runners in the mansion have been dealt with; not a single one has been left alive!"
