Chapter 77 has finally been cracked.

Just then, Yuan Xi and his two other attendants walked over. They had intended to say goodbye to Hong Xiaoduo, but when they saw the jade pendant in her hand, Hong Xiaoduo clearly saw the surprise on their faces.

She pretended not to see it and said regretfully, "Ah, it can't be sold or pawned, then I don't want it." After saying that, she handed the jade pendant back to Murong Jing. Seeing that he had no intention of taking it, she simply grabbed his hand and stuffed the jade pendant into his hand, then immediately took two steps back.

Murong Jing looked down at the jade pendant in her hand, thinking about the feel of her hand just now; it was soft and a little cool.

When he came to his senses, he noticed that the distance between her and him had increased.

"Young Master Murong, farewell." After saying this, Hong Xiaoduo waved to Yuan Xi and the others who were still in shock, turned around and walked towards the carriage, entering the carriage without any hesitation.

"Brother Fan, let's go." After saying goodbye to Fan Wu through the car window, Tian Shu set off.

Compared to the few people who stood still and watched them go, the owners of the two cars that drove off slowly into the distance seemed rather heartless.

Looking dejected, Fan Wu turned to his mount and glanced at Young Master Murong, only to find that Murong seemed to be in an even worse mood than himself.

Fan Wu looked at Yuan Xi and the others with some curiosity. In front of their master, they didn't dare to say anything. The young master actually gave his jade pendant to Xiao Duo, but because it couldn't be sold or pawned, Xiao Duo refused to accept it and returned it rather roughly.

Hong Xiaoduo didn't try to guess or imagine what the people seeing her off were feeling.

Looking around the now spacious carriage, Yuheng, Tianxuan, and Tianji tidied up the things they had just received.

"Tian Shu, how are you? Still nervous?" Hong Xiaoduo asked, remembering to ask.

"Don't be nervous, this horse is as docile as our donkey, it won't be difficult." The response from outside the carriage was not nervous but filled with undisguised excitement.

On the first day, Uncle Wu and his family took him outside the town and drove the horse-drawn carriage several times, and also taught him some things about raising and training horses.

Hearing Tian Shu's confident response, Hong Xiaoduo leaned back against the pile of blankets with peace of mind. For some reason, she thought of the scene when Murong Jing gave her the jade pendant.

Judging from the reaction of his entourage, the jade pendant must have been more than just a valuable item to him. Yet he wanted to give it to her. Regardless of his intentions, she would not accept it. That's why she deliberately exaggerated her curiosity about the value of the jade pendant.

Sure enough, he immediately reminded me nervously that it couldn't be sold or pawned.

This gave her the perfect opportunity to return it. As for whether he would misunderstand her as someone who just loves money and is greedy, she didn't care or mind.

Otherwise, there wouldn't have been the incident of extorting a hundred taels from him on the very first time.

Just like Brother Dong, if they have the means and are willing to give her money, she won't be too proud to refuse.

Was that jade pendant really a convenient way to see him? If she really wanted to see him, even if the gatekeeper was difficult, she could have found another way to do so.

If that's not the case, what other explanation could there be? It can't be that she's taken a liking to me and gave me this as a token of our love, can it?

As soon as the thought popped into her head, Hong Xiaoduo found it funny and asked herself what she was thinking.

Regardless of this young master Murong's status, at his age in this dynasty, he should at least have a married wife and concubines, if not a large number of wives and concubines.

Even if a man like that is incredibly good, he's not on Hong Xiaoduo's radar.

Besides, she never intended to fall in love or find her other half in this dynasty.

Love is a serious matter that requires careful consideration. If you fall deeply in love and find yourself trapped, what will happen when you return to the modern world? Will you abandon everything in the modern world to stay and live with the person you love? Or will you abandon them and go back to the modern world yourself?

She now suffers from severe memory loss and is unsure whether, as the old man at the science museum said, her parents divorced and each started new families, leaving her with her own household registration booklet.

What if the old man deliberately lied to her so that she would feel at ease helping out here?

In modern times, I probably don't have a partner, and if I did, I wouldn't go on a trip alone, would I?

Thinking about all this made Hong Xiaoduo feel a little irritated, so she decided to stop thinking about it. Since she couldn't teach them to write while the carriage was moving, she would teach them math first and have them memorize the multiplication table.

The children excitedly followed along, their voices melodious and earnest. Even though Tian Shu was rushing to catch the train, he didn't miss a beat and continued reciting along.

When they stopped to rest at midday, Hong Xiaoduo didn't need to worry at all. The older boys cut hay, found water to feed the horses and donkeys, and the others sorted out the food on the cart, taking out what couldn't be stored to eat for lunch.

The person who laid out the mat took the water bag and handed it to Hong Xiaoduo first.

Sitting cross-legged on the mat, Hong Xiaoduo watched them busy at work and couldn't help but sigh that she could take care of seven more such sensible children.

"Hong Xiaoduo?" The old man's voice suddenly rang out. Although his voice was very soft and low, Hong Xiaoduo could still tell that he was very excited.

What is this? Could it be? Hong Xiaoduo thought of a possibility, and her heart started to race.

"You and the others eat first, I need to think about something," Hong Xiaoduo said to Tian Shu, who was walking over.

Tian Shu agreed, watched her get into the carriage, and quickly turned back to tell his younger siblings to keep their voices down and not to disturb her. After making sure everyone had heard him, he whispered to Tian Xuan to keep an eye on this side, then grabbed two sesame cakes and walked to the other side of the carriage, wary of strangers coming by.
