Chapter 202 A Shocking Secret (1/2)

Yun'an went to the palace to pay her respects as usual.

She planned to visit her mother in the Cold Palace. A few days ago, because of her brother's matter, her father wouldn't let her see her mother at all, but he only recently gave in.

Just as they crossed the path, they heard a low murmur of complaint coming from behind the bamboo grove: "The princess is heartless. Her Majesty dotes on her so much, yet she hasn't even come to visit her now that Her Majesty is ill!"

The road to the Cold Palace was always deserted, which is why these two dared to gossip so brazenly.

Yun An's expression changed, and anger was building in her eyes. A cold smile appeared on her lips as she prepared to find this lackey and punish him properly!

Since when have palace servants been allowed to freely discuss their masters? They must be out of their minds!

Her personal maidservant beside her also looked indignant and was about to step forward to arrest her.

But before she could act, another, more familiar voice rang out, and its words struck her like a thunderbolt: "She's not Your Majesty's biological daughter after all, an ungrateful wretch! If Your Majesty hadn't given birth to a stillborn child and been forced to bring a child back from outside the palace, where would she be now?"

That's the voice of Kang Mama, who serves her mother. She can't be mistaken!

What did the other person mean by what they said?

She wasn't born to the Empress? That's impossible!

Yun An's pupils trembled, and he remained stunned for a long time.

The palace maid covered her mouth in disbelief, looking as if she had heard a shocking secret!

She cautiously observed the princess's face; her little face was deathly pale, and she seemed dazed.

Was the princess not the empress's biological daughter?

How is that possible?

Not only did she not believe it, but Yun An found it even more unbelievable!

Normally, Yun'an would have sent someone to bring those two gossiping lackeys over and slap them hard, but when she heard the commotion over there, her first reaction was to find a place to hide!

The palace maid was forced to hide with her behind a bush, and seeing her reaction, she became even more uneasy.

If this is true, then after learning such a shocking secret, does she still have a chance to survive?

"No one can hear such words, or Her Majesty will be finished!"

"Don't worry, Granny, I promise I'll keep this a secret and won't tell anyone!"

The two emerged from behind the bamboo grove, and even from a considerable distance, Yun An could still clearly see their profiles.

One was undoubtedly Granny Kang, and the other palace maid looked somewhat familiar; she seemed to be Ping'er, a second-class palace maid from the mother's palace.

Yun An bit her lip tightly as she watched the two leave.

Even though it was summer, she felt as if she were in a frozen wasteland, with even her fingertips feeling icy cold.

"Princess……"

The trembling voice of the palace maid Cailian came from the side, bringing Yun An back to her senses.

Her eyes held a dark gloom as she slowly spoke, "What did you just hear?"

Cailian was so frightened that her legs went weak and she knelt down with a thud, grabbing her skirt and quickly proclaiming her loyalty: "Princess, this servant didn't hear anything!"

Yun An glanced nervously to his left and right, gritted his teeth and cursed under his breath, then kicked her: "You bastard! What are you yelling about? Are you trying to attract everyone here?"

Cailian immediately fell silent again, her face pale as she hurriedly shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes.

She knew Yun'an too well. If she accidentally stumbled upon such a secret, given her princess's personality, she would definitely not let her off the hook!
