Chapter 61 I'm going back first

"Mom, when will Wen Heng be back? Why is he taking so long? I'm starving." Wen Ning asked impatiently, slumped on the sofa. He had never seen his brother delay leaving work, so why did he have to leave late today?

"You're hungry, right? I told you to eat lunch, but you refused and insisted on eating junk food. Go ahead and starve. Your brother will be back soon." Mother Wen said bluntly. The Wen family always waited for everyone to gather before eating. After all, it would be embarrassing to eat before everyone was together.

Wen Ning knew it too; it was just a complaint. She casually took a bite of the fruit on the table, then picked up her phone and urged her brother, "Hey, brother, stop wasting time."

Wen Heng had just gotten off the car when he received a call from his sister. He found it a bit strange, and when he answered the call, he heard these words, which made him laugh even more.

"Why, you missed your brother after not seeing him for such a while?" Wen Heng said with a smile. Lu Shiyan, who was standing beside him, heard him say that and looked over curiously.

Wen Ning rolled his eyes. "I missed you so much! Come home soon! I'm starving waiting for you."

"Oh, so you only called me because you were hungry. You have no conscience."

"Why do you need a conscience? You are not ashamed, and you still think about me. What kind of person are you? What kind of person am I?" Wen Ning said directly and rudely.

"Oh, then I'll take another two hours before coming back." Wen Heng threatened.

"You dare? If you dare to come back so late, I will drive directly to your company and see what you are hesitating about." Wen Ning was a little upset when he heard him say that.

"Oh, then come on." Wen Heng had just finished saying this when he stepped into the living room. Wen Ning also heard her brother's voice, so she stood up cursing and turned around to shout, "Wen Heng, you..."

Before she could finish her words, she saw the person standing next to her brother, looking at her as if he was watching a show. The words she was about to say were stuck in her mouth. She was stunned for a moment, blinking in disbelief. She never thought that someone who shouldn't be in her house would appear in her house at this moment. Is this world really magical?

Her brother was very proud to admire his sister's expression. He did it on purpose. At first, when Lu Shiyan said he wanted to come to his house for dinner, he thought it was fake. Unexpectedly, he really came in his car? He realized belatedly that this guy must be up to no good, but since he was already in the car, it didn't matter. He wanted to tell his sister, but then he thought it was better not to tell her. He wanted to see what expression this damn girl would have when she saw someone in front of her. No, you don't know until you see it. She looks like a good girl. There is no image of a tigress who scolds and scolds him fiercely.

Seeing their daughter's silence, Wen's father and mother looked in her direction with some curiosity. They immediately stood up with a smile, "Mr. Lu is here, a rare guest. Hurry up and take a seat." While greeting him, they turned around and scolded their son, "Wen Heng, how disrespectful! You didn't even tell me you had a guest."

Lu Shiyan quickly stepped forward politely, "Hello, uncle and aunt, I apologize for not informing you in advance. I'm sorry for being abrupt."

"No, no, you're too polite, Mr. Lu. It's our honor to have you as a guest at our home. Please don't blame me if there's anything inappropriate." Father Wen said politely.

"Uncle, you are too polite. It is my fault." Lu Shiyan said very politely.

Wen Ning came back to her senses and looked at the two people chatting. She felt a little anxious. She slowly walked to her brother's side, glared at him, and whispered, "What the hell are you doing?"

"No, what could I do?" Wen Heng said innocently.

"Then what's going on with him? Don't tell me you don't know?" Wen Ning looked at him, not believing at all that he knew nothing.

"I don't know, go ask him." Wen Heng wouldn't tell her that he really didn't know. God knows what Lu Shiyan had in mind that made him want to visit his house all of a sudden. If he knew, he wouldn't have been so confused all the way.

"Then why didn't you tell me he was coming to our house?" Wen Ning gritted her teeth. He didn't know why he came, but he hadn't told her since he was already home. She wouldn't believe her if she said it wasn't intentional. Didn't she know what kind of person her brother was? He just wanted to play a trick on her, to embarrass her in front of everyone.

She was starting to feel a bit regretful now. She'd been so lazy at home, and now, dressed in this casual outfit, she wasn't even close to her usual beauty. It was over. His impression of her was definitely going to drop again, which was pissing her off. Ahhh, why hadn't she been more diligent in getting herself ready today? She was truly impressed.

Wen Heng looked at her frantic expression and smiled even more smugly, "Why, now you know to pay attention to your image?"

Wen Ning unceremoniously stepped on his brother's shoe and spun it vigorously: "Yes."

Wen Heng grimaced in pain, pointed at her, and was speechless.

"What are you two doing? Come over for dinner?" Seeing that the two were silent, Mother Wen turned around and called out to the brother and sister who were whispering to each other.

"I'm coming, Mom." Wen Ning replied with a gentle smile, and when she turned around, she proudly challenged her brother.

Lu Shiyan shifted his gaze to Wen Heng's feet thoughtfully and raised his eyebrows. Wen Ning gave him an innocent look. He laughed dumbly, then turned around and sat down with Wen's father.

Wen Heng was left alone to stretch his feet. "You silly girl, you kicked me so hard, are you kissing me? Why are you always so disrespectful?"

"Mr. Lu, I didn't know you were coming, so I didn't prepare any food or drinks. This seems a bit shabby. Please make do with what you have. I will definitely prepare food and drinks next time."

"Uncle, you're too polite. This dish is very delicious. Also, don't be polite. Just call me Shi Yan." Lu Shiyan said politely.

At the dinner table, apart from Wen Ning who was concentrating on eating, the others were chatting and laughing, and occasionally talking about the current trend.

Wen Ning thought men were truly bizarre creatures. They still talked about work after work. Couldn't they just have a quiet meal? They were always talking about business. Why did they make so much money? They couldn't spend it all. But, she thought, he was quite charming when he talked about work. He spoke freely and occasionally offered unique insights. Otherwise, his father wouldn't have been so excited to drag people around in conversation.

Tsk tsk tsk, as expected, work has cast a filter on men. She secretly glanced at him while eating.

Lu Shiyan naturally knew that she was secretly watching him, and occasionally met her gaze. When Wen Ning saw him looking at her, she immediately looked away.

The meal was so delicious that both the host and the guests enjoyed it to the fullest. Before Lu Shiyan left, Father Wen still felt that the time was not enough.

"Then I won't bother my uncle anymore. I'll go back first."
