Chapter 247 The expedition begins!

There are nine loyal primarchs in total, ten if Rigo is included, and each of them is equipped with a Light Chaser squadron consisting of ten thousand warships to carry out operations together.

You have to know that although these warships are only Minotaur-class battlecruisers, they are all equipped with warp drives, allowing for rapid maneuvering across the universe. Moreover, their firepower, shields, and many other features have undergone 56 technological upgrades equivalent to those of a Level 5 civilization, making them fully capable of defeating any lesser forces in the universe except the Necrons.

In addition, Chang Wei will also equip each squadron with a super battleship from the main fleet as the flagship, so on the whole, the combat power level of the squadron is actually very terrifying. For the Warhammer 40K universe, it is called the Fourth Scourge, and it deserves the name.

However, not everything can be perfect. The Light Chasers' main strengths are space group combat, non-contact combat, and beyond-visual-range combat. When it comes to close-range boarding and planetary landings, the Light Chasers are still at a disadvantage compared to the rest of the universe.

Especially for some planets that need to be rescued or occupied, even if you have absolute air superiority, you will definitely suffer considerable casualties if you want to completely take them down.

Compared to the scale of war in the Warhammer world, which often involves hundreds of millions or even billions of ground personnel, the number of Lightseekers is simply not enough to fill the gap.

Therefore, the Empire's military power must be used at this time, especially the huge Astra Militarum and the major Astartes Chapters.

The Imperial Guard, also known as the Astra Militarum, is the primary fighting force of the Imperium. It is so large that even the Imperial Munitions Department, which administers it, cannot determine its numbers at any given time, as the rolls of new recruits and casualties can fluctuate by millions in a single day.

A conservative estimate puts the Empire's total Astra Militarum at at least tens of trillions, divided into millions of regiments, campaigning across the galaxy. While the quality of the Astra Militarum varies, and their overall strength is relatively low, their numbers are immense! Like cheap consumables, they can be thrown into the brutal meat grinder of war by the Empire until victory is achieved.

Even without the advantages of genetic enhancement or the most powerful personal weaponry, the resolve and will of countless warriors will become a paean to humanity's strength and courage, and destroy all enemies of the Emperor across the galaxy. In the steel torrents of endless war, the Astra Militarum warriors always charge under the cover of a barrage of artillery fire, each one standing firm, by divine grace, to die in the service of the Emperor.

In short, the Astra Militarum is the cornerstone of the human empire. Without them, humanity is doomed to extinction. But their massive sacrifices are nothing more than a string of cold numbers to the empire.

To be honest, it is extremely shameful and a huge waste that such good soldiers are used to charge mindlessly in waves, fight for consumption, and lose lives, sacrificing themselves for the incompetence and resumes of some senior officers and dignitaries.

That's why Chang Wei didn't rush into an expedition, instead choosing to prepare for a wave. This was to improve the Empire's technology and equipment production, thereby increasing the battlefield survival rate and combat capabilities of ordinary soldiers. Not to mention comparing themselves to the Imperial Army, whose advanced equipment and Iron Man-like soldiers were all over the place, but at least they could slowly approach them.

As for the Astartes and the Imperial Navy, there was no need to elaborate. They were merely auxiliary forces to the Lightseekers.

Anyway, they still have some use before encountering the extremely materialistic Necrons.

Why wasn't Chang Wei afraid of the Four Evil Gods and their Chaos forces? Because all the Light Chasers were outsiders to the universe, and their souls had no projection in the Warp. This meant that the power of the Evil Gods could not penetrate the Warp and erode the Light Chasers.

The technology possessed by the Light Chaser Fleet allows them to travel to various parts of the galaxy without going through the warp. What can you, the Chaos God, do to them?

Therefore, if the Chaos God's forces wanted to attack the Light Chaser, they had no choice but to descend into the real universe. However, once they descended into the real universe, they would inevitably follow some of the basic physical properties of the real universe. For example: energy conservation, atomic arrangement, chemical reactions, the forces between substances, etc.

By then, it’s not certain who will kill whom!

Are you a Warp Demon? I'll give you a physical exorcism! And from a distance of 10,800 miles, a single Star Destroyer cannon shot will blast that planet you finally took down! I heard you demons are afraid of fire? Do you know about the Protoss's Purification Beam, which can burn glass?

Without the Emperor and the Untouchables' power, while we might not be able to destroy their bodies, merely banishing them back to the Warp, the damage done to these demons is real, and the Lightseekers won't suffer much anyway. By then, once the large-scale psychic disruptors are deployed, will you Warp demons still hope to exploit the rampaging psykers to open portals and wreak havoc on the real universe? That's simply wishful thinking!

At worst, Chang Wei still has the Xel'Naga artifact keystone that he's currently researching and making. It's probably what he'll need to seal the Warp!

Looking at the list in his hand, Chang Wei couldn't help but fall into deep thought.

The current status of the 9 loyal primarchs:

Lion Jonson, Primarch of the First Legion, Dark Angels. After the defeat of the Horus Heresy, he returned to his homeworld of Caliban, where he engaged the rebellious Dark Angel leader, Luther, and was gravely wounded, his whereabouts unknown. However, Chang Wei knew that he had been sleeping atop the Dark Angels' Stone Fortress-Monastery. In the future, he would be awakened for unknown reasons during the Battle of the Ark of Doom during the Indomitus Crusade.
