Purple Cloud Mountain Range, Green Mountain.
Qin Luo arrived at the mountain god temple at the foot of the mountain. Incense and candles were burning inside, and there were several jars of wine on the offering table.
There are three statues in the temple. Previously, there were only a big black bear and a big black ox in the temple, but now there is a big black donkey. The temple is not big, but there are quite a few mountain gods.
Qin Luo did not see Niu Mang in the temple. He left the mountain god temple and had not gone far when he saw a big black ox pulling a plow and tilling the fields. The surrounding fields had been evenly turned over.
In a nearby village, a large black donkey was pulling a millstone, and many villagers were queuing up at the village entrance with grain in their hands.
Hua Ying smiled and said, "The mountain god you appointed is quite diligent; he must know you're back."
"Probably."
Qin Luo smiled and shook his head.
Seeing Qin Luo and Hua Ying chatting not far away, Niu Mang ran over on his own initiative. He widened his eyes, rubbed his hooves, and asked, "Great Immortal, when did you get back?!"
Qin Luo smiled slightly, "You should know very well."
"this......"
Niu Mang scratched his head awkwardly.
Not wanting to make things difficult for Niu Mang, Qin Luo changed the subject, saying, "Spring plowing is still a long way off, what are we doing plowing the fields now?"
Niu Mang grinned and said, "The soil is more fertile now, and I will continue to help with the spring planting next year."
"That makes sense."
Qin Luo reminded him, "You can relax and rest when you have nothing to do, but you can't forget what you need to do."
"I, Old Niu, will never forget this!"
"I know you often get together to drink, but thankfully you haven't made any mistakes because of it. You should be more careful in the future."
“The sage is right.”
Niu Mang was covered in cold sweat. "Great Immortal, where are you going? I, Old Niu, will take you there."
"You should focus on tilling the land."
"Yes, sir!"
Niu Mang continued to plow the land, dragging the plow and harrow.
Qin Luo and Hua Ying exchanged a smile.
"These monsters aren't inherently bad. Although they seem unreliable, they are actually quite reliable. Niu Mang helps the surrounding villagers cultivate their land every year, and Xiong Shan repairs roads in the mountains year-round. They have made significant contributions to the Ziyun Mountain Range." Qin Luo was very aware of their every move.
Hua Ying said softly, "I encountered the Golden Dragon, the river god you appointed, at the Jinsha River. I was afraid that he would become a hidden danger to the Great Xia Dynasty, so I wanted to erase his divine mark. Who knew that he had the protection of the Dao Ancestor? In the end, I found the Longhu Temple. When I saw the portrait of the Dao Ancestor at the Longhu Temple, I felt that the Dao Ancestor might not be dead yet. I thought I would test the abbot and then go back to report to my master. I didn't expect to be captured by you."
Qin Luo smiled slightly, then shook his head and sighed softly, "Many of the things I did back then were unreasonable. I arbitrarily conferred titles upon mountain gods and river gods, doing whatever I pleased without considering the consequences. Perhaps it was my status as an outsider that made me so reckless."
"But you did nothing wrong."
"You're not wrong either."
Hua Ying nodded with a smile.
Deep in the Ziyun Mountains, the ground trembled as a large black bear pounded the ground with a tree stump, flattening the gravel path in the mountains.
"You're quite busy!"
Qin Luo looked at Xiong Shan and said with a smile.
When Xiong Shan saw Qin Luo, he knelt on the ground, hugging the tree stump, and said respectfully, "Master Dao, what a coincidence."
Qin Luo shook his head. "Get up. I'm not here to inspect the work; we're here for a trip to the mountains."
Xiong Shan stood up and grinned, "Master Dao, I still have a few jars of fine monkey wine hidden away. I'll take you to get them; they're hidden in a tree hollow nearby."
"I'm planning to host a feast for the mountain god and the local earth god in a couple of days. How about you bring it out then so we can all enjoy it together?"
"Okay, okay."
Xiong Shan nodded excitedly.
"Did you build this road?"
“Both Stone and the disciples of the academy helped repair this road, but I am the one who is maintaining it.”
Xiong Shan wasn't lying. Qin Luo smiled and nodded, "If we want more worshippers, we need to build more roads. I see there are a few households nearby, so Ziyun Peak's worshippers won't be lacking in the future."
"What you say is true, Daoist Master."
Xiong Shan hugged the tree stump and nodded repeatedly.
Qin Luo said earnestly, "Birds of a feather flock together. When you have free time, go to Black Mountain more often to learn from Chen Chang'an. Reading more books is always beneficial."
Xiong Shan guessed that Qin Luo knew they were playing drinking games, and he broke out in a cold sweat. "What Daoist Master said is true. I will go to Black Mountain to ask for your guidance when I have time in the future."
"You can continue with the road construction."
"Yes, ma'am."
...
Ziyun Peak.
The highest peak in the Ziyun Mountains.
Purple clouds swirled around the mountaintop, creating a dreamlike scene.
There was a stream nearby, its waters babbling. Qin Luo spotted an old otter with dark fur.
"Waaaaah!"
The old otter splashed water in the stream, sending up high sprays.
Hearing the old otter's call, Qin Luo came to the riverbank. He recognized the old otter. He saw the old otter dive into the water and then quickly resurface. Immediately afterward, five or six baby otters emerged from behind it. They all tilted their heads, looked adorable, and stared wide-eyed at Qin Luo and Hua Ying.
Qin Luo came to the riverbank, squatted down, and said with a smile, "Congratulations on having so many adorable babies."
"Waaaaah."
The otter laughed out loud with delight.
Qin Luo smiled and said softly, "If you see any fruit later, I'll pick some for you."
"Waaaaah."
The otter nodded happily.
Crossing the stream and approaching the valley near Ziyun Peak, Huaying chuckled, "You seem to have quite a few friends."
Qin Luo said with a smile, "I guess I was lucky."
"You're a good person."
"Thank you for the compliment."
There was a precious tree in the valley, but the fruit on it was far less than when it had first appeared. Hua Ying said softly, "So you wanted to take me to the Purple Mansion Grotto?"
