Chapter 74 was restored quickly.

In the middle of the night, Li Ruo, concerned about Wen Huaiyan's health, took his temperature again before going to bed.

Seeing that the fever had finally subsided, she beamed with joy: "That's great, Mr. Wen, this medicine is very effective. The fever is almost gone. Shall I take another one? I'll feel better when I wake up tomorrow."

Although the method of taking the medicine taught by Li Ruo was effective, Wen Huaiyan still firmly shook his head.

Li Ruo was momentarily at a loss.

"Then I'll wet a cloth with alcohol and use it to cool you down physically. I believe this method will be effective for you."

As soon as she finished speaking, she turned around to prepare the alcohol and handkerchief.

Wen Huaiyan seemed to suddenly remember something, and grabbed her wrist, giving it a gentle tug.

Li Ruo floated lightly into Wen Huaiyan's arms.

She gasped, seeing Wen Huaiyan's lips almost touching hers, and blushed as she pleaded, "Your health is important, let's wait until you've recovered..."

The unfinished words had already been swallowed by the man in front of her, leaving only a few scattered sobs.

The next day, when Li Ruo woke up, she found her whole body sore and weak. She opened her eyes with difficulty, and the slightly sunken spot by the bed had now flattened out and lost its warmth.

What time is it?

It seems that Wen Huaiyan, that workaholic, is already fully engaged in his work.

Li Ruo admired his efficiency; he had been up until nearly 3 a.m. the day before, yet he was still energetic the next day.

She rubbed her lower back as she got up, and whether it was because she got up too quickly or for some other reason, her vision was blurry.

Li Ruo closed her eyes, took a deep breath to calm herself for a moment, then got up with the help of the bedside table and went to the bathroom.

After washing up, she changed into a moon-white dress and stepped out of the room.

She staggered and lost consciousness after only a few steps.

...

"Miss Li...Miss Li?"

The housekeeper was carrying breakfast to Li Ruo's room when she saw her collapse on the ground, and she immediately forgot about the tray in her hand.

After casually placing it on the tray, she quickly helped Li Ruo up and shook her shoulder.

There was still no response.

The housekeeper, somewhat flustered, helped the person back to her room and then reached out to feel her forehead.

Noticing the burning heat on her forehead, the housekeeper was alarmed and immediately went downstairs to contact the family doctor.

After the family doctor visited and diagnosed Li Ruo's condition, he immediately prescribed some medicine and handed it to the housekeeper.

"If she has a high fever, first wipe her body with alcohol, then give her the medicine. If she still has a fever this afternoon, contact me again."

The housekeeper noted down the doctor's instructions and immediately went to prepare items to lower the fever.

An hour later, Li Ruo broke free from the chaotic dream and tried to speak, but her throat felt like it was being burned by fire.

The housekeeper was standing by the bedside. Seeing her stammering and opening her eyes anxiously, she immediately went to her and asked with concern, "Miss Li, you have a fever. We just brought your temperature down. How are you feeling now?"

"Water," Li Ruo said with difficulty.

The housekeeper understood immediately and stood up.

After a glass of water soothed her throat, Li Ruo felt as if her internal organs were starting to function again.

She breathed a sigh of relief and looked gratefully at the housekeeper: "Thank you, Mother-in-law."

The housekeeper shook her head, indicating that there was no need to be so polite, her eyes full of worry: "How did you suddenly fall ill? Yesterday it was the master, and today it's you. It seems I should burn incense and pray to Buddha for good health."

Li Ruo was amused by her nervous appearance and smiled. "Don't worry, Grandma. Young people recover quickly even if they have a fever. I probably just wasn't careful when I was sleeping and caught a cold."

In fact, she knew very well why she had a fever, but it was not something she could easily tell others.

The housekeeper smoothed her hair and nodded thoughtfully, "Young people recover quickly. By the way, I told my husband about your illness, but he has some business to attend to outside right now. He asked me to take good care of you first."

Knowing how meticulous Wen Huaiyan was at work, Li Ruo naturally didn't expect him to be able to come back when she was sick.

Since it's a relationship of mutual exploitation, why bother seeking genuine affection?

Li Ruo said understandingly, "Mother-in-law, I'm fine. He's busy with work. This is a small problem. It wouldn't be good to delay his important work because of this small problem."

Upon hearing this, the housekeeper looked at her hesitantly, ultimately deciding not to say anything more.

Sensing the change in her expression, Li Ruo paused slightly, hesitated for a moment, and then tentatively said, "Mother-in-law, I trust you very much here, and you have been very good to me. If there is anything you want to say, please feel free to say it."

The housekeeper sighed and said gently, "I know you're a good child, so naturally I don't want you to suffer any injustice."

"You and the young lady got along well yesterday, didn't you?"

Now, Li Ruo finally understood what the other person wanted to say.

Her heart warmed, and her smile became more genuine: "The young lady is still young and easy to get along with. Thank you, Grandma."

Upon hearing this, the housekeeper immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

She didn't want to pry too much into her host family's affairs, so she changed the subject, "Miss Li, I've made you some congee. Would you like to try some?"

Li Ruo belatedly realized that she was a little hungry, so she nodded enthusiastically, "Okay, thank you."

After finishing the whole bowl of porridge, her complexion improved significantly.

The housekeeper felt much more at ease, urged her to take her medicine, and then pressed her down to rest.

Li Ruo slept for a full five hours, and all her fatigue seemed to have disappeared during the sleep.

She stretched and was about to get up when she was caught off guard by a pair of deep eyes at the head of the bed.

Li Ruo was startled and retreated.
