Chapter 269 Buying Stocks

He Tingchuan is blind, so Yun Jin can't point things out to him. She can only whisper in his ear.

He Tingchuan, thinking she was about to do something, gasped, his Adam's apple bobbing, and his voice deepening, "Wife, I'm afraid it's not possible today. She just had surgery; we can't do anything rash..."

Yun Jin was amused by his words: "What are you thinking? I won't bully a patient. I just want to clean your ears."

He Tingchuan gave an awkward smile: "I was just being presumptuous again."

"You know that's good!" Yun Jin gave him a light bite as punishment, which tickled He Tingchuan's heart.

Yun Jin didn't have a penchant for flirting in front of the recording device. She whispered a few words to He Tingchuan, and He Tingchuan's expression visibly became serious. He wrote in Yun Jin's palm: Tell Zhou Da.

Yun Jin nodded: "You rest for a while, I'll go see why He Ziqian has been gone for so long?"

In fact, Yun Jin called Zhou Da.

Upon learning of the situation, Zhou Da immediately bought a fruit basket and, on the surface, chatted with them and inquired about their illnesses. In reality, each of them kept a small notebook. Except for He Tingchuan, who needed to communicate by hand, Yun Jin and Zhou Da communicated by writing.

The conclusion of the discussion was that we should not alert the enemy for the time being.

Yun Jin agreed.

He Tingchuan gave a thumbs-up in agreement.

As Zhou Da was leaving, he happened to run into He Ziqian, who was returning. Only He Ziqian was unaware that there was a recording in the ward. Zhou Da put his arm around He Ziqian's neck and called him to the small garden, where the two chatted for a while.

He Ziqian then realized that there was something fishy about the bouquet of flowers: "No wonder Zhang Juan specially came to deliver flowers, she wanted to eavesdrop on us!"

Zhou Da nodded at He Ziqian, who wasn't completely stupid: "When we get to the ward, be careful what you say and do. Don't reveal too much information. If they find out, it will be bad for us."

He Ziqian smiled wryly: "You think too highly of me. To be honest, I don't know much about my family's affairs, and I know even less about other important matters."

“They don’t think so.” Zhou Da instructed, “Anyway, when you contact Zhang Juan, don’t let your guard down. I found out that she has a son who is being fostered in an orphanage. He was taken back these past few days under the pretext of being sick.”

“She didn’t take him away. I’m afraid someone used her child to threaten you and get close to you,” Zhou Da told He Ziqian what he knew.

He Ziqian then realized that she had also been coerced.

He Ziqian nodded: "I understand. Aren't you going to take care of that child?"

Zhou Da looked troubled: "We don't have that much power. You know, our situation here isn't good."

He Ziqian didn't know this before, but now he knows a little: only when the motherland is strong will they have more say.

He Ziqian only hated that he was too mediocre, unable to do anything, and had to become someone else's pawn.

After He Ziqian returned, Yun Jin handed He Tingchuan over to him: "Stay with your uncle. I'm going to make a call to tell Mom and Dad that the surgery was a success."

He Ziqian nodded, his gaze falling on the beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Yun Jin shook her head, telling him to pretend the recording pen didn't exist.

As she left, Yun Jin kissed He Tingchuan: "Get some rest, I'll be back soon."

He Tingchuan waved his hand: "Be careful."

"Okay!" Yun Jin smiled and left.

He Ziqian blinked, feeling that the couple was hiding something from him.

Yun Jin took a taxi to the stock trading company. It was Friday, and Yun Jin still had a chance to make a profit before the trading closed.

She approached a staff member and said she wanted to open an account.

Hearing her fluent English, the other party didn't know where she was from and assumed she was just an ordinary retail investor. It wasn't until they saw the documents she submitted that they realized she was from Beijing.

The staff member raised an eyebrow, surprised to be able to serve a client from Beijing today: "Which stock do you want to buy?"

Yun Jin handed over the stock code she liked. After entering the code, she asked, "How much do you want?" when filling in the amount.

Yun Jin handed over her bank card: "1.3 million."

The staff member thought they had misheard: "How much?"

Yun Jin said confidently, "1.3 million, all of it to buy the stock I mentioned."

"Are you sure this stock isn't performing well? You could consider buying other stocks, like these ones, which have been doing quite well recently!" The staff member was used to dealing with numbers.

It's not like I haven't seen more money than Yun Jin's.

The main reason is that I've never met a wealthy person from Beijing.

He immediately asked for 1.3 million to buy a stock that looks like it's going to be exploited.

This stock looks like it's about to hit rock bottom, and she wants to buy it at the bottom, but she's afraid she doesn't have enough money.

Yun Jin politely declined, saying, "Thank you for your kindness, but I'll just buy this one."

Seeing that persuasion was futile, the staff had no choice but to buy 1.3 million worth of the stock as Yun Jin had instructed. Looking at the receipt for the successful purchase, Yun Jin breathed a sigh of relief, ignoring the staff's idiotic looks.

It was as if she was destined to lose.

Yun Jin didn't explain; if she wasn't absolutely certain, she wouldn't have bought only this one.

Of course she knew this was a stock that was designed to fleece retail investors.

As long as she isn't greedy and sells off her holdings in time during the market crash, she's sure to make a profit.

I won't say any more.

Even just earning back He Tingchuan's medical expenses would be acceptable.

After buying the stocks, she found a phone booth and made a call to Beijing.

The call was answered quickly, and this time it was Xiaoniangao: "Mommy, is that you?"

"It's me, it's Mommy. Baby, did you miss Mommy?" Hearing her daughter's voice, a wave of longing washed over her. She wanted to hug her little rice cake and kiss her.

It's only been a week, but it feels like a very long time has passed.
