Chapter 55 Be Brave! But Zhu Yan and this period of time...

But Zhu Yanhe has been acting really strange lately. Sometimes at night, when he squints and wipes his face, he finds himself drooling on Zhu Yanhe's face. That's not all. He also hugs Zhu Yanhe so tightly that it's hard for him to breathe, as if there's glue stuck between them. That's not all either.

The key point is that even though he could walk normally, they still insisted that his foot wasn't fully healed. Of course, he was afraid of amputation, so he believed Zhu Yanhe's words and stayed for a few more days.

He went to the hospital again, and the doctor said he was almost done, but then suddenly said he should still walk less. He believed him and stayed for a few more days. The key thing is that Xiaohe also took good care of him during these days and hoped that he would stay a little longer.

Last night he said he was going back, and Zhu Yanhe didn't say anything, just asked him if he liked big houses. Of course he does, but what does that have to do with disliking small houses!

"Zhu Yanhe, what's wrong with you?" He squinted and stared straight at Zhu Yanhe. He wanted to know what had happened to Zhu Yanhe these past few days and why he looked so reluctant to part with him.

A scarf was wrapped around his neck. The man's eyes were as calm as still water. He replied, seemingly unrelated, "You'll be late for work here."

So what? He can just quit. Agreeing to Zhu Yanhe's request before was a last resort. Although it would have allowed him to earn money from two sources, Zhu Yanhe's popularity in his livestream was already incredibly high. Everyone was praising Zhu Yanhe, and nobody was praising him anymore. That's unacceptable!

"I'm not going anymore, okay?" Ning Buyi shrank back, not daring to look at Zhu Yanhe's face. He felt his butt would hurt. Yes, Zhu Yanhe always spanked him, so he definitely couldn't go back.

A small fallen leaf gently landed on the boy's hair. Zhu Yanhe reached out and lightly brushed it away. He was silent for a moment before speaking, "I'll give you a raise."

Ning Buyi suddenly turned around and asked, "A raise? How much? Look at the mess this has made! You should have said so earlier!"

"How much will it go up?"

The boy's clear eyes shone brightly. Zhu Yanhe thought for a moment and asked, "How many do you want?"

Anyway, he can give Ning Buyi as much as he wants.

"Then wait a moment." Ning Buyi said, taking out his phone, opening an app, and starting to think about something, muttering to himself.

Zhu Yanhe subtly moved closer, and the screen displayed a real estate app. The young man swiped the screen, and on the favorites page lay an introduction: priced at 800,000 yuan, that's all.

He frowned, glanced at the house address, and thought to himself that Ning Buyi had said before that he wanted to buy a house, not because he felt the current situation was bad, but because that house must have a different meaning.

"Then, I'll take 20,000 a month."

After some intense thinking, Ning Buyi concluded that he should be able to make enough money in another three or four months, which would be just right.

Zhu Yanhe hummed in agreement, unsurprised by the boy's exorbitant demand: "It's inconvenient to go to work from here."

Ning Buyi didn't understand what was inconvenient about it. He had only been riding the electric scooter for half an hour when he suddenly thought of something and whispered mysteriously in the man's ear, "Zhu Yanhe, are you afraid to sleep alone?"

It all makes sense now. She was afraid to sleep alone, which is why she held him so tightly and was so reluctant to part with him. She never expected that Zhu Yanhe was also afraid to sleep alone. The boy looked like he had convinced himself.

Zhu Yanhe gave him a deep look, then gave a faint "hmm," clearly quite afraid.

A fair hand patted his shoulder, and Ning Buyi raised the corners of his mouth: "Then I'll give you a surprise in a couple of days, but I still can't go back with you."

I haven't been able to call Sister Xiaohe these past few days because of Zhu Yan and Zai, but I can call her every day when I get home.

Seeing that he couldn't abduct her, Zhu Yanhe conceded, "I'll pick you up from get off work."

He waved his hand, about to say no, when Zhu Yanhe promptly added, "Being late will result in a 200 yuan deduction."

That despicable Zhu Yanhe!

The two stood at the doorway, their hair touching and then separating. Zhu Yanhe was about to say something when a loud voice rang out: "You little bastard, are you coming back or not!"

Li Chang stood at the door with his hands in his pockets, his face contorted in a bitter expression. That wretched boy had been gone for half a month, saying he was coming back a few days ago but then suddenly changed his mind, and now he was still standing at the door, as if he had been held back by this blessing.

Seeing his brother giving orders, Ning Buyi quickly ran forward a couple of steps and went up the steps. His scarf was blown by the wind and crunched under his feet. He turned around and shouted to Zhu Yanhe in the wind, "Go back now. Remember to pick me up tomorrow. You're an adult now, you need to be brave."

"Remember to take good care of my little fish!"

After saying that, he waved his hand, turned around and followed Li Chang into the room: "Yes, yes, I'm here!"

Zhu Yanhe lingered at the door for a moment, his silhouette reflected in the transparent glass door. A gentle breeze carried away the fallen leaves from his hair until the boy's figure disappeared behind the glass.

As soon as Li Chang entered, he began to look his eldest son up and down, making a series of clicking sounds. The man, who had been somewhat thin, was now a bit plumper, and his cheeks and nose were rosy from the wind, clearly showing that he hadn't been mistreated.

Ning Buyi went away to live for more than half a month. When he came back, he had more than 100,000 yuan in his entire body. Now he looks like a young master. Money makes people rich.

"Seeing how well you've been raised in his house makes me feel ashamed." Li Chang could also see that Zhu Yanhe was reluctant to part with the fair-skinned young man in front of him. He couldn't give Zhu Yanhe what he could give. Ning Buyi's room was small, his live-streaming room was small, and most of his clothes were still his.

He's been watching Ning Buyi's livestream every day for the past few days. The background is completely different from here; it's not as cramped and dimly lit as the private room. Actually, it's quite nice for Jian'er to stay with Zhu Yanhe; at least it's better than this shabby little place.

The boy sat down next to him, skillfully broke his chopsticks, and started eating the takeout on the table, looking quite pleased with himself. What a fool.

"Brother, I like it here. Although it's big and warm there, and the bed is super comfortable, I still prefer it here." Ning Buyi replied while chewing. He didn't say the sentimental part: this place and Li Changdu both felt like home.

Li Chang was so moved by what he heard that he almost blurted out nonsense about free internet access today. Then, remembering something, he said, "It's good that you didn't come back that day."

Ning Buyi looked up at him blankly.

Li Chang stared at him and spoke in a lower voice: "You don't know that it was haunted that night. The screams were terrifying, but in the morning it was as if nothing had happened."

The boy choked for a moment, but he didn't cry out.

"Brother, how did you know?"

Li Chang clapped his hands and replied, "Oh, it's the shop owner next door. He spent the night in the shop that day and saw a man beat up several people. When he got up in the morning and went out to check, he found nothing. What else could this be but a ghost story?"

Ning Buyi paused for a moment, then said "Oh," and quickened his pace in picking at the food. If it was one person fighting against many people, could it be Zhu Yanhe who did it? At the time, he thought that the group had gotten tired and left, but he couldn't remember anything after that.

After quickly finishing his scrambled clothes, Ning Buyi rushed back to his room, leaving Li Chang scratching his head in confusion. The young man, holding his phone, dialed a number for someone who had just left. He swallowed hard and said, "Hello, Zhu Yanhe."

A low voice came from the other end of the line. Zhu Yanhe was driving. He answered the phone and asked, "What's wrong?"

Ning Buyi scratched his hair and pursed his lips: "That day you..."

The microphone was pressed against his lips, and even his deep, rapid breathing could be heard. On the other end, there were only occasional beeping sounds. Zhu Yanhe was waiting for his question.

His lips were slightly white from biting them, and he spoke softly, "Did you see me get beaten up?"

A deep, resonant voice rang out: "Why do you ask that?"

Ning Buyi lay on the hard, uncomfortable bed frame, his face buried in the big red floral pillow, and his voice came out in a muffled tone: "It would be too embarrassing if you saw me like this."

He didn't want Zhu Yanhe to see him get beaten up; it would definitely be embarrassing and humiliating.

Zhu Yanhe chuckled lightly: "I've seen you from head to toe, what haven't I seen?"

The sound seemed to explode in his mind. His fair face flushed red, whether from being sullen or embarrassed, and the blush extended to the tips of his ears. During this period, Zhu Yanhe had even helped Ning Buyi take a bath. He had seen and touched him from head to toe. What was there to be embarrassed about now?

Ning Buyi stammered, "Who said that? Did you hit someone?"

"Just negotiating with them? Do you really want to pay back three million?" Zhu Yanhe rested his hands on the steering wheel, the exquisite mechanical dial reflecting the man's indifferent eyes.

In any case, the problem is solved with money, so it's no different from negotiation, but it did remind him of something.

"No, no." Ning Buyi sat up cross-legged, held the phone in both hands, and solemnly spoke into the microphone, "Zhu Yanhe, thank you. You've been so good to me since I met you. You always take care of me when I go to the hospital and always treat me to delicious food. You are my forever and ever best brother."

"Mmm." Zhu Yanhe responded softly, and then a sniffling sound came from the other end of the line. The man frowned slightly: "You have a cold?"

It was cold today, so I dressed him in three layers of clothing and a scarf. He'd catch a chill if he stayed outside for even a short while. Zhu Yanhe clicked his tongue softly, thinking it was better to keep him with him. He parked the car on the side of the road, about to ask if he wanted to come back.

"I don't have a cold." Her voice trembled slightly, like a cotton ball wrapped around her heart, making her feel restless and itchy. He paused for a moment, his hand on the steering wheel, and asked, "Were you crying?"

"No." The boy's eyes were the same color as his cheeks, and the glistening tears at the corners of his eyes were wiped away by his slender fingers. He wasn't crying; he just felt very happy.

"Want to come back?" Zhu Yanhe asked again, with a hint of barely perceptible hope in his voice.

"No, Zhu Yanhe, can't you be a little braver?" Ning Buyi, who was originally being sentimental, suddenly turned into a lecturing tone. He didn't understand how Zhu Yanhe had fallen asleep without him for the past ten years or so. How could a grown man be so clingy?

Zhu Yanhe stared quietly out the windshield. The words he wanted to say were cut off. The car was silent, except for the sounds of his breathing and the breathing on his phone.

The man closed his eyes briefly and replied, "Okay."

"That's right, that's right, just wait for my surprise!" Ning Buyi nodded in satisfaction at the air.

The phone went dead. Zhu Yanhe rubbed his temples, sensing something was amiss. He then dialed a number.

"How are they?" Zhu Yanhe's eyes lost their warmth, and he stared coldly at the screen. Several men were lying in a hospital room, most of them wrapped in bandages like mummies, except for two lucky ones whose heads were not covered.

"The doctor said they're doing well now and the stitches can be removed in a day or two." A tall, burly man stood to one side in the frame, as solid as a steel plate. Zhu Yanhe nodded slightly: "Give him the phone."
