Chapter 147 Opening Ceremony 2

A moment later, Princess Ling was shocked to find that the previously stable Life Balance Scale had begun to sway from side to side, as if pushed by an invisible hand. Her beautiful face instantly turned deathly pale, and she cried out in panic, "How could this be? The power is unbalanced! Isn't it enough to just draw power from a Saint-level fairy?"

Seeing Princess Ling's anxiety, Yan Jue felt a surge of chivalry and, without a word, flew forward to offer his help. Princess Ling quickly stopped him, shouting, "Yan Jue, don't! There's a problem with this Flower Breath Restoration Technique. I haven't figured out the cause yet. If you offer your help, you'll be in danger."

“Xiao Hua, as the emcee, I must ensure your safety. How can I just stand by and watch them be drained dry?” Yan Jue’s eyes were firm. After speaking, he put his hand on Pang Zun’s shoulder, as if conveying a sense of strength and determination to him.

Mandora watched the Spirit Rhinoceros Pavilion Masters writhing in agony as their power was drained, and a sense of satisfaction filled her heart. She recalled how these fairies had once looked down on her and shown contempt, and now, seeing them struggling in pain, she felt this was their just deserts.

Princess Ling gazed at the Life Scales, which remained unbalanced, filled with doubt and anxiety. Time slowly passed, each second feeling like a sharp blade cutting into her heart, while the situation worsened. The Life Scales seemed possessed by a demon, frantically draining everyone's power at an accelerated pace.

"No, something's definitely wrong!" Princess Ling's keen intuition told her that something was amiss. To stop the spell from continuing and prevent these young lives from withering away like flowers before her eyes, she decisively decided to retract the Life Scale. She swiftly made hand gestures, like graceful dance moves, and chanted the incantation: "Ye Luoli magic, withdraw!"

"Don't stop! Keep going, quick!" Mandora flashed, appearing behind the Spirit Princess like a shadow. Her staff gleamed with an evil light as she pressed it against the Spirit Princess's back without hesitation. "My sister hasn't been resurrected yet. If we stop now, all the power we extracted will be wasted! Absolutely not!"

Faced with Mandora's threats, Princess Ling was filled with helplessness and struggle. She knew that if this continued, everyone would be drained of their lives by this crazy magic, but Mandora's coercion left her with no choice.

She could only suppress her inner pain and was forced to continue the spell. However, due to excessive exhaustion, everyone collapsed one after another like kites with broken strings. Princess Ling watched this tragic scene, tears welling up in her eyes, but she still mustered her last bit of strength to cast a spell, trying to retrieve the Life Scale: "Ye Luoli Magic, Life Scale, retrieve!"

However, fate seemed to be playing a cruel joke on her at this moment. Unfortunately, the Life Scale did not disappear under the Spirit Princess's spell and magic. Instead, after a more violent shaking, it began to drain everyone's magical power at an even faster rate.

Seeing the power flowing into her through the mirror, Mandora could no longer contain her smugness. She burst into laughter, the sound echoing through the flowers like the roar of a demon. She began to recount her scheme: "Princess Spirit, you Spirit Rhinoceros Pavilion Masters are utterly foolish! The immortal power you absorbed wasn't to resurrect my sister, but rather it was transferred to me through the mirror. I placed a small mirror under the jewel box to control your life-giving scales, preventing you from stopping the absorption of power. In this way, all this continuous power belongs to me."

Princess Ling was both angry and anxious, feeling as if she were trapped in a nightmare from which she could not escape. Stuck in this predicament, she watched one life after another fall on the scales of life, her heart filled with guilt and self-reproach. Her gaze gradually hardened, and a resolute courage surged within her: "Queen, I am Princess Ling, the Mother of Life! I will never allow life to perish before my eyes. If I destroy my own mind, the caster will be gone, and your mirror magic will no longer be able to control my spells!"

But fate played a cruel trick on her. Princess Ling's sacrifice had no effect. She watched helplessly as the life energy of humans and fairies vanished before her eyes, and they collapsed to the ground, unable to reverse the situation. In the end, she was unable to stop the magic.
