Chapter 70

Human World

Qi Na and Fei Ling strolled along at a leisurely pace, showing no sign of rushing home. They figured they had nothing urgent to do, so they decided to wander around the area around the elementary school. As soon as they approached the school, the bustling scene overwhelmed them like a tidal wave.

Although the food stalls weren't arranged very neatly, they exuded a strong sense of everyday life. The stalls selling roasted chicken legs and sausages were particularly eye-catching. On the grill, the chicken legs and sausages sizzled, their rich aroma slowly wafting out and filling people's nostrils. The chicken legs had a pale golden-brown skin, slightly glistening with oil; while not exactly stunning, it was enough to whet people's appetites. The sausages, roasted until slightly curled, emitted a simple, meaty fragrance.

Not far away, someone was stir-frying noodles on the spot. The wok swayed rhythmically on the stove as the chef skillfully tossed the noodles, adding various seasonings one by one, and the aroma gradually filled the air. The stir-fried noodles weren't particularly bright or eye-catching in color; the vegetables in the side dishes had a natural green hue, the eggs were a mild yellow, and the shredded carrots were just ordinary red. Together, it was a simple plate of stir-fried noodles.

The skewer stalls were bustling with activity. The grilled gluten was slightly hardened over the charcoal, the oil slowly dripping down, and the sizzling sound wasn't particularly enticing. The grilled chicken wings were a bit too dark, and the aroma wasn't very strong, just a typical barbecue smell. The grilled squid wasn't particularly flavorful either, just a faint taste of the sea. With various skewers seasoned with sauces, the taste was just average, nothing particularly amazing.

Meanwhile, Fei Ling, standing beside her, was quickly drawn to the small desserts. The fruit on the cake didn't look particularly fresh, and the color combination was rather ordinary. The donuts were just average-looking, and the sweetness wasn't particularly strong. The pudding was small, with a fairly smooth texture, but it didn't have the legendary melt-in-your-mouth magic. The cookies had a faint milky aroma, not very strong.

Seeing everyone around her enjoying the food, Zina began to waver. She stared intently at the crowd, a complex expression on her face. Watching others eat with relish, a pang of envy welled up inside her. Ultimately, she couldn't resist trying the delicious food herself. However, Zina was usually a homebody, and facing so many strangers made her nervous and uneasy. Her heart raced, and her hands trembled slightly, as if she were about to face a tremendous challenge.

Looking at the crowd around her, she kept encouraging herself in her heart: "Don't be afraid, just face it like any other ordinary thing." Fei Ling noticed her master's unusual behavior, and lightly flew to Qi Na's hand, gently tugging at it, as if wanting to pass on her courage to Qi Na. That small gesture was full of warmth and encouragement, and a warm current surged in Qi Na's heart.

Afterwards, Qi Na and Fei Ling, feeling a bit full, strolled slowly home to digest. They walked at a leisurely pace, enjoying the moment of tranquility. The sunlight shone on them, bringing only warmth, without any particular sensation. When they returned to Qi Na's house, their stomachs were almost fully digested, and they felt a little hungry again, just in time for dinner. On the table were ordinary home-cooked dishes, exuding a faint, comforting aroma of home.

After finishing her meal, Qi Na returned to her room to do her homework when the system popped up in her mind.

*Ding! Your system is online.* Host, you still have the mood to go shopping? Look at yourself, haven't you been a bit too relaxed lately? When Qi Na first heard that the system had awakened, she was overjoyed. The joy was like suddenly seeing a bright light in the darkness, bringing her hope and anticipation. However, after hearing only the first few sentences from the system, Qi Na helplessly realized that she could already roughly guess what would happen next. She frowned slightly, doing her homework while listening to the system's incessant "brainwashing" rhetoric. As Qi Na listened to the system's nagging, she gradually grew annoyed; she really didn't want to listen anymore.

However, when the system mentioned that her hard-earned money might be gone, Qi Na's heart tightened. She stopped writing, her eyes filled with worry and anxiety. That money was earned through her sweat and effort; she absolutely couldn't let it slip away so easily.

So, Zina immediately apologized to the system, her tone sincere and firm: "I'm sorry, system. I know I've been a bit lax lately, but I promise I will try my best to complete the mission. My money will absolutely not be given to anyone else, and I will definitely protect it."

The system, seemingly satisfied with Zina's assurance, informed her that the mission would be updated tomorrow and told her to check it herself. Then, just as suddenly as it appeared, the system vanished without a trace.

Silence returned to the room. Qi Na sat at her desk, her mind racing. She knew that starting tomorrow, she would embark on another challenging journey. To achieve her goals and protect her hard-earned money, she had to give it her all.
