Chapter 71

Ice Princess's Dream

Princess Ice was overwhelmed by the horrific visions of the future, her thoughts swaying like a lone boat on a turbulent sea, utterly chaotic. Those terrifying scenes flashed repeatedly through her mind, like sharp icicles piercing her heart.

Deep down, she couldn't accept that her brother, the Water Prince, would so mercilessly throw her off a cliff for a human. Every frame of that scene felt like a sharp blade, carving wound after wound into her heart. Moreover, in the future, she repeatedly risked her own safety to save the Water Prince, ultimately leading to her own disappearance. All of this was too bizarre, filling the Ice Princess with confusion and disbelief.

She stood there quietly, the images replaying in her mind, silently vowing that she must personally verify whether all of this would truly happen. Just then, she suddenly remembered the mysterious ball of light, the strange entity that had transmitted the visions of the future to her.

The Ice Princess slowly surveyed her surroundings, her gaze urgently searching every corner, trying to find the ball of light to express her sincere gratitude. At the same time, she was filled with intense curiosity about the origin of this light. However, despite her wide eyes and careful examination of every place, she still found nothing. She clearly remembered that the ball of light had entered her mind like a shooting star. So, the Ice Princess closed her eyes, calmed her mind, and focused intently on whether the ball of light still existed deep within her consciousness. Hmm, no sensation. She frowned slightly, sighed softly, and stopped worrying about the ball of light's whereabouts. After all, her most important task now was to leave this dream filled with unknowns and troubles with a clear mind.

"Ye Luoli magic, pure ice and snow, heed my command, break the dream and awaken me!" The icy fairy power permeating the air seemed to receive a powerful summons, rapidly and orderly gathering in the Ice Princess's hand. With a slight twitch of her slender fingers and a casual wave, an incomparably powerful force surged like a raging torrent directly towards the barrier of the dream, instantly shattering it.

Back in the real world, the Ice Princess slowly opened her brilliant blue eyes, like sparkling sapphires. A hint of confusion flickered in her gaze as she looked around, carefully taking in her surroundings. She clearly recalled how, because she resolutely refused to lend her power to Queen Mandora, Mandora had angrily cast a stone statue spell upon her. In her confrontation with the Queen, she felt utterly powerless and, in desperation, had no choice but to freeze herself in ice.

At this moment, she felt like a caged beast trapped in ice and snow, unable to move freely or easily escape the unyielding icy confinement. The Ice Princess knew she desperately needed to understand the outside world and return to her beautiful and peaceful home as soon as possible. Achieving this might require a difficult deal with Mandora. In her view, while a deal with Mandora was risky, it was far easier to resolve the issue once and for all than a deal with that human. She couldn't understand why her future self would be so unwise as to distrust her fellow fairies and instead trust that uncertain, problematic, and utterly unreliable human.

"Ye Luoli magic, the threads of ice become my eyes, telling me what's happening outside." The tiny threads surrounding the ice crystal, like nimble sprites, were guided by their master's magic, gracefully passing through the cracks in the door and floating directly out of the mirror space. Through the threads of ice, the Ice Princess seemed to possess eyes that could travel through time and space, "seeing" the powerful and majestic Queen Mandora. The Queen was currently absorbed in absorbing magical power, the surrounding energy fluctuations rising and falling like surging waves.

The Ice Princess understood that now was not the best time to make a deal with her; she needed to wait patiently. Relying on clues from her memory, she remembered that the Queen had seemingly lost the battle in the end; that would be the right time to make a deal with her.

As the Ice Princess was lost in deep thought, she suddenly sensed a magical power originating from the same source as herself. It was the Water Prince! He was preparing to travel to the human world through the mirror. A spark of hope ignited in the Ice Princess's heart; she still wanted to try and have her brother rescue her.

"Ye Luoli Magic, Ice Crystal Tears." Instantly, crystal-clear tears streamed from her pure, icy eyes. Those tears seemed to carry all her hopes and desires as they slowly fell. "Go, let my brother come and save me!" The surrounding icy aura intensified, as if adding power to her call. The tears, along with countless threads of ice, passed through the mirror space, like shooting stars streaking across the night sky, landing precisely in the hands of the Water Prince, who was about to enter the mirror passage.

The Water Prince instinctively reached out to catch the tears, and the Ice Princess's expectant voice echoed in his mind: "Brother, I want to leave the Mirror Space. I want freedom. Can you come and save me?"

"I'm sorry, I can't save you. It's safer for you to stay in the ice now. Isn't it better to stay quietly in the ice? Sister, don't be stubborn." The Water Prince's voice remained as cold as ever. After saying this, he shattered the teardrop with his power. The broken teardrop, like the Ice Princess's broken heart, scattered and fell. Without the slightest hesitation, the Water Prince resolutely entered the mirror passage.

Through the threads of ice, the Ice Princess "saw" the Water Prince's actions, and an indescribable sense of disappointment and pain welled up within her. It felt like being crushed by heavy ice, making it almost impossible for her to breathe. She silently asked herself: Am I really inferior to that ordinary human girl? Why did he choose to stand with Wang Mo instead of me?
