Chapter 155: A Sword That Shatters the World

Chapter 155: A Sword That Shatters the World

Upon hearing this, Zhu Huiqing's tone suddenly turned stern: "I don't care who that Brother Feng is, you have to come to Tianji Palace with me first! If you delay any longer, your meridians will atrophy and become fixed. Even if you rebuild your inner energy, your power will not return to its former state, let alone regain your youth!"

Perhaps realizing his tone had been too harsh, Zhu Huiqing tightened his grip on her hand, took a deep breath, and softened his voice again, carrying an undeniable earnestness: "Listen to me, don't overthink things."

The light in Chunxiang's eyes vanished abruptly, like a candle flame. She stopped looking at her, stopped writing, and simply gazed silently at the shattered sky through the gaps in the bamboo leaves...

In Fengliulin Town, Longyang City, Qiu Xia, like a lurking black eagle, clung tightly to the roof of the Ma family's side room. Looking down at the gruesome corpses strewn haphazardly in the courtyard below, her heart ached, and she desperately wanted to jump down and collect the remains. However, reason held her back. She knew this was undoubtedly a trap set by Ouyang Longyuan, waiting for her, the one who had slipped through the net, to walk right into it.

The piercing sense of powerlessness almost tore her apart. Her heart felt like it was being squeezed by iron clamps, the pain almost suffocating her. As she turned over, she clenched her fists and slammed them hard against her chest, tears streaming down her face: "Pingchuan... I'm so sorry..." Tears mixed with low sobs, silently flowing down the cracks in the roof tiles.

"Clatter clatter clatter...!" The rapid sound of horses' hooves broke the surrounding silence as they approached from afar, heading straight for the gate of the Ma residence!

"Pingchuan!!" A heart-wrenching shout rang out as Xiaoyao Lang rushed into the gate, creating a gust of wind.

Startled by the sound, Qiuxia, perched on the rooftop, peeked out and froze instantly: "Xiaoyao Lang?! Why is he here at this hour?! Oh no! There must be an ambush all around. Isn't he just walking into the lion's den?" A chill ran down her spine and up to her head.

Xiaoyao Lang stepped into the courtyard, his steps abruptly halting. The scene that met his eyes was nothing short of hell on earth! Corpses littered the ground, congealed dark blood emitting a nauseating stench, flies buzzing and swirling above like black clouds. Some corpses had already begun to emit a slightly pungent, putrid smell, making one instinctively want to flee.

With a loud crash, his knees slammed onto the flagstones. As tears streamed down his face, his gaze swept over the horde of corpses, finally settling on Ma Pingchuan standing against the wall. His pupils dilated instantly, the color draining from his face: "Pingchuan..."

Amidst heart-wrenching screams, he disregarded the filth covering the ground and rushed forward like a madman. He clutched Ma Pingchuan's body tightly to his chest, pressing his face against the lifeless cheek, as if trying to rouse him: "...Pingchuan...open your eyes and look at me...it's me, Xiaoyao Lang...I'm back...look at me...Pingchuan..."

A heart-wrenching, blood-curdling wail echoed through the deathly silent courtyard. The extreme grief and rage that had nearly annihilated him finally awakened the dormant blue dragon soul within him! A powerful, unstoppable dragon-shaped aura, brimming with primal energy, erupted forth. In an instant, the azure dragon energy, as if bound by a shared soul, enveloped him, surging with unparalleled pressure.

"Hoo!!!" Uncontrollable rage transformed into a deafening roar! Mixed with pure and fierce true energy, a visible shockwave suddenly swept outwards in a ring!

The roar of a dragon resounded through the sky, its sonic waves sweeping wildly around. Mosquitoes, flies, and even blood-sucking ants in the cracks of the bricks were instantly killed by this furious power, leaving behind a mess of carcasses.

Caught off guard, Qiu Xia on the rooftop quickly covered her ears, her heart filled with shock: how could he possess such earth-shattering internal strength in just two months?!

Just then, a sudden change occurred! "Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!" Dozens of dark figures, like hyenas smelling blood, darted out from outside the mansion walls and through the dark alleys, swiftly blocking all exits, their swords and blades gleaming coldly as they pointed towards the courtyard. In moments, the mansion gates were completely blocked!

The leader, a man with a huge scar across his face, stared at Xiaoyao Lang, who was weeping over his corpse in the courtyard, his eyes gleaming with greed, as if he were a walking gold ingot! He grinned maliciously and said, "Heh heh, finally a fish has taken the bait! Take him down and present him to the Brahma Emperor, and the brothers will live the high life!"

Upon hearing this, his henchmen instinctively drew their knives and rushed forward. Stepping inside, the overwhelming stench of blood and corpses instantly shattered their resolve. "Ugh..." "Ugh..." Many felt their stomachs churning, retching repeatedly, their steps faltering. "...Too...too damn bloody...Boss?..."

The scarred man roared, "Useless trash!" He drew his sword and made a slashing motion. "Do you still want your head? Do you still want to get rich?! Get him!" With such a reward, there are bound to be brave men! The seven or eight desperate criminals who had been singled out had a fierce glint in their eyes, as if they were really being lured by gold ingots. They mustered their courage and charged towards Xiaoyao Lang with their swords!

At this moment, Xiaoyao Lang was filled with boiling grief and anger. He already regarded the person in front of him as an accomplice, no different from the murderers who destroyed the Ma family and harmed his brothers!

"Well done!" Xiaoyao Lang's gaze pierced the onrushing figure like an ice spike. He remained motionless, his right index and middle fingers suddenly coming together in mid-air!

With a "whoosh," the Wu Can Sword, which had been lying still on the ground, emitted a clear and resonant sound as it was drawn by the force of the energy. The sword, still in its sheath, spun twice in the air, and with a "bang," it plunged straight into the bluestone ground! Accompanied by a burst of energy from the sword, the smoke and dust forced everyone to pause in their tracks.

This terrifying aura instantly stunned the four men charging at the front, their feet seemingly rooted to the spot. However, the other four, after only a moment's hesitation at the tip of their blades, were blinded by the promise of a reward and roared "Charge!" as they leaped forward to slash!

However, just as they raised their knives, "thud..." a sharp tearing sound suddenly rang out!

Fast! Extremely fast! So fast that it was imperceptible to the naked eye! Between the moment the Black Remnant Sword was drawn and when it was sheathed, it seemed as if only a dark streak of lightning remained! A fierce and unparalleled sword aura swept through the air! Four fine heads shot into the sky without warning!

"Ugh..." His companion screamed in horror from behind! Four jets of blood gushed from the severed necks, a sight to behold! The four headless corpses remained frozen in their forward-charging postures before crashing to the ground. The four heads that rolled to the ground had contorted faces, their eyes blinking a couple of times before fixing their gaze—a gruesome sight that sent chills down one's spine!

Qiu Xia gasped, her pupils dilating: "How is this possible?! That sword strike just now?! The blade hadn't even left the ground! And those four people's heads were already... Is this still Xiaoyao Lang?!" Disbelief filled her mind.

The scarred man, standing a little further away, witnessed this monstrous slaughter firsthand, his eyes nearly popping out of their sockets in horror. His greedy gaze for gold was instantly replaced by utter terror. The carefree man before him wasn't some gold ingot; he was clearly a vengeful Yama, the King of Hell!

"Too...too damn powerful! You guys hold on! Hold on! I'll go get a Grandmaster to come and oversee things!" The scarred man was terrified, his voice trembling. Before he finished speaking, he had already turned and taken several steps, darting out of the mansion at an angle!

With their leader gone, the remaining rabble had lost all will to fight! They exchanged panicked glances, and without a word, shouted in unison, "Run!" Like wild dogs whose den had been disturbed, they rushed towards the gate that had just been blocked!
