Chapter 156: Rage, Rage, Rage
"Trying to leave? You think you can?!" Xiaoyao Lang's roar was like a thunderclap! Without turning his head, he raised his right hand and made a claw, suddenly grabbing at the fleeing figures from afar!
"Boom boom!"
An immense and unparalleled suction force, like a violent tornado swirling in the void! In an instant, a fierce wind howled! The air within a radius of several dozen feet was frantically torn apart and compressed! Those who had already fled to the gate of the mansion, or even further away, were as if seized by an invisible giant hand, screaming in terror as they were involuntarily sucked back into the air!
"Bang bang bang bang...!" Dozens of bodies, like heavy sandbags, were slammed onto the bluestone slabs in the courtyard by this enormous force, and cries of agony filled the air!
"This is... teleportation!! A technique that can only be performed by someone at the Transcendent Realm! His cultivation has actually reached the Transcendent Realm!!!" Qiu Xia was both surprised and delighted, her voice trembling.
Qiu Xia had no idea that after Xiaoyao Lang and Yu Linglong engaged in dual cultivation, his internal energy had increased dramatically. Furthermore, guided by his subconscious, he could even enter a state of mental concentration while dozing off; a day in this state was equivalent to ten years of arduous training. Therefore, although Xiaoyao Lang's physical body had not yet broken through to the Transcendent Realm, his martial arts cultivation was already comparable to that of a Saint, a far cry from what it once was.
"Ouch...my goodness..." "Ouch...my bones are broken..." He rolled on the ground, tears and snot streaming down his face. The scarred man, who had fallen less heavily, was the first to struggle to his feet, desperately kowtowing: "Young...young hero, spare my life! Ancestors, spare my life!! We were blind!!"
“…Spare us, young hero!” “It was that scarred-face guy who forced us to this…” Seeing this, the others also scrambled to their feet and begged for mercy, kneeling down in a panic.
Xiaoyao Lang's icy gaze swept over these ant-like figures, his tone cold and indifferent: "Want to live? Fine! Carefully collect all the corpses in this courtyard and give them a proper burial here... Get out!"
The group exchanged bewildered glances. Scarface, forcing a smile, asked, "Young hero... where... where should we bury him?"
"Right here! Dig!" Xiaoyao Lang roared, pointing at the bluestone pavement in front of him.
The scarred man, his face contorted with despair, scanned the tightly sealed, iron-hard stone slabs beneath his feet: "But...but young hero...this ground...it's too hard..."
Before he could finish speaking, Xiaoyao Lang stomped down.
"Boom!!!"
The entire Ma mansion trembled! An immense, terrifying force erupted from the soles of his feet! The incredibly hard slab of bluestone shattered inch by inch, turning into dust. Dust billowed up, spreading with the powerful wind and reaching high into the sky.
With his back to the swirling dust, Xiaoyao Lang's voice pierced through the smoke, carrying a chilling killing intent: "You'd better hurry, or no one will leave here alive today. And if anyone tries to escape, I will show no mercy."
This terrifying force completely shattered everyone's hopes. "Get to work! Get to work!!!" Someone screamed desperately, realizing what was happening. "Find! Shovels! Hoes!"... "Go to the backyard! There must be some in the backyard!!" Dozens of men, like startled rabbits, some scrambling and crawling towards the backyard, others frantically digging with knives...
With a heart bleeding, Xiaoyao Lang carefully placed the bodies of Ma Pingchuan and Ma Kaitai side by side. When his gaze fell upon the grotesquely severed head of Yin Xiaosheng beside him, his body trembled violently.
"Brother Yin..." Images of them embracing and chatting, drinking and laughing together flashed through his mind, tearing at his consciousness.
He bent down, his hands trembling, and gently, solemnly, placed the unyielding head back onto the torso where it rightfully belonged. His fingers lightly traced the still-glaring, angry face, and he choked out, "Brother Yin… rest in peace. I, Xiaoyao Lang, swear to heaven that I will avenge this! I will use Ouyang Longyuan's blood to wash away the blood debt of this entire family!"
"Xiaoyao Lang!" With a sob, Qiuxia could no longer suppress her grief and excitement. Like a swallow, she flew down from the high eaves and landed lightly in front of him. "Xiaoyao Lang..." she murmured, her voice heavy with sobs as she looked at the man whose aura had been completely overturned.
"Qiuxia!?" Xiaoyao Lang suddenly turned around. He looked at her, his eyes flickering through the murky tears, filled with sorrow, and seemingly... a trace of unidentified emotion. "Why... are you here?" His voice was low, carrying a cold, questioning tone.
Qiu Xia felt as if her heart was being torn apart, her voice trembling: "You...you're blaming me? Blaming me for not being able to protect Brother Ma?" Her voice was still choked with sobs as she spoke.
Xiaoyao Lang remained silent, offering no reply, but his unspoken gaze only intensified Qiuxia's heartache.
"I only hate that I am too weak to protect Pingchuan... I can't hold back my tears any longer..." Qiuxia could no longer hold back her tears.
"Tell me, what exactly happened that day?" Xiaoyao Lang's voice rang out coldly, suppressing the surging waves and carrying an irresistible question.
Qiu Xia sniffed hard, wiped away her tears, and recounted the bloody nightmare that had unfolded in Ma Family Village without reservation, word by word, pausing between each sentence… from Ouyang Longyuan's sudden attack to Yi Mingjian's inhuman slash…
"Wh...what?!" Xiaoyao Lang's body stiffened abruptly, as if struck by lightning. He abruptly turned his head, staring intently at Qiu Xia, each word seemingly squeezed out from between his teeth: "...You said...you said...it was Yi Mingjian who killed Pingchuan and Uncle Ma???..."
Looking into his eyes, which had suddenly turned bloodshot and were filled with overwhelming rage, disbelief, and pain, Qiu Xia nodded forcefully through her tears, replying, "...Yes!"
"Ah... Yi-Ming-Jian!!... You..."
A roar, seemingly emanating from the deepest hell, brimming with the most intense hatred in the world, shattered the sky! Xiaoyao Lang clenched his fists, his bones cracking! This betrayal came from the very family of his most grateful benefactors! This news was even more unacceptable to him than Ouyang Longyuan himself had acted, and his hatred was even more deeply ingrained!
Xiaoyao Lang's breathing became heavy, like that of a trapped beast, his chest heaving violently. Disheartened, he looked up at the sky for a long time, barely suppressing his surging emotions, before turning to Qiuxia and saying, "No matter who killed Pingchuan, I, Xiaoyao Lang... swear to kill him!" With a long cry, his right palm suddenly lashed out at the steel blade on the ground.
Accompanied by a loud "whoosh!"
With a sharp whistling sound, the heavy steel broadsword was violently lifted up by an immense force, tearing through the air and drawing a deadly, massive arc in the courtyard!
"puff!"
"Ah!!!" A bloodcurdling scream, the sound of someone dying, echoed throughout the Ma residence!
The broadsword, as if wielded by an invisible giant hand, pierced through a pawn who had just emerged and was attempting to escape over the wall with unparalleled precision! The heavy blade, carrying immense inertia, dragged the man's body and, with a resounding "bang," slammed him heavily against the high wall!
The soldier coughed up blood, his eyes wide open, his body pierced through the waist and abdomen by a giant sword, pinned to the wall. He struggled a couple of times before falling silent.
"Ugh!" A gasp escaped his lips. "Quick...quick!" Two accomplices, who were using their partner as a stepping stone to try and scale the wall, witnessed this bloody and horrific scene and were terrified. They collapsed to the ground with a thud, their trousers instantly soaked with the foul-smelling liquid. They scrambled away from the wall of death, completely abandoning any thought of escape...
