Li Peiyu went to the library and explained the situation to the librarian, Old Man Qian. Old Man Qian had worked diligently at the library for half his life. He was always very kind and was deeply loved by the students because of his amiable image.
"Professor Qian, our department head has punished me by making me clean the library. When would you like me to start?" Li Peiyu asked somewhat embarrassedly.
"Around noon, the children have all gone to eat. The museum closes at 11 p.m., it's too late, I'll just tidy up a bit." Mr. Qian replied with a gentle smile, showing his care for the children in every way.
"Thank you, Professor Qian. There's another classmate who will be punished with me."
"It's that kid Gu Yan, isn't it? I heard about your heroic deeds with him yesterday." Old Qian's kind face broke into a smile, his wrinkles spreading wide. "You like Gu Yan that much?"
It's clear that Mr. Qian also heard yesterday's broadcast.
“I haven’t liked it for a long time. I’ll sweep the first and second floors, and he can sweep the third and fourth floors.”
"No. Let's sweep together, you sweep the left and I'll sweep the right." A cheerful voice rang out.
Li Peiyu looked up and saw Gu Yan. The young man's eyes were still sleepy, but his languid gaze couldn't hide his brilliance. When did he arrive?
When Old Man Qian saw Gu Yan, he frowned and scolded, "Gu Yan, you naughty boy, when will you ever be more mature? Lu Yuzhi has raised you for so many years, why haven't you learned anything from him?"
Upon hearing the name Lu Yuzhi, Li Peiyu's eyes lit up. But she pretended not to know anything and asked curiously, "Who is Lu Yuzhi?"
When he said his name, her heart was pounding in her throat, as if her secret affair with him would be exposed at any moment.
“My dad,” Gu Yan replied.
"Why is your father's surname Lu?" Li Peiyu asked, clearly knowing the answer to that question.
“He is my adoptive father, and I take my mother’s surname,” Gu Yan explained.
"Oh," Li Peiyu replied.
"You don't even know this? It seems you didn't know me at all before."
"Mr. Qian, do you know his father?" Li Peiyu just wanted to know more about his father.
"Of course I know him! Lu Yuzhi is from our school too. He used to come to the library to study every day. I really like him. He's good-looking, academically gifted, has a calm personality, and comes from a wealthy family. He's practically perfect. He's my idol!" Old Qian said enthusiastically, his face full of admiration.
“No one is perfect,” Li Peiyu retorted, somewhat unconvinced.
“That’s Lu Yuzhi. I still have some photos of him when he was young. Would you like to see them?” Old Man Qian said with a smile.
"Want to see how handsome he is? Even more handsome than Gu Yan?" Li Peiyu deliberately tried to get information out of him.
When Gu Yan heard Li Peiyu say that he was handsome, the corners of his mouth curved into a smile.
Old Qian carefully searched through the somewhat old cabinet behind him and soon found Lu Yuzhi's graduation photo.
"Which one?" Li Peiyu recognized Lu Yuzhi in the photo at a glance.
In his youth, Lu Yuzhi had short, neat, jet-black hair, sword-like eyebrows, and bright, clear eyes that seemed to hold the stars and the sea. Below his straight nose were slightly upturned lips, and his smile was as warm and infectious as the spring sun. He exuded a youthful and unique charm.
Li Peiyu felt an overwhelming sweetness in her heart, as if countless sweet little flowers were blooming within her. Then, a pang of heartache struck her; the boy who used to smile so happily now always exuded a composed and serious aura that commanded respect.
Li Peiyu had an idea and said with a smile, "Old Qian, look how messy your cabinet is. Let me tidy it up for you later."
"Okay, thank you, Xiaoyu."
"You're welcome. It's what I should do." Don't thank her; she just wanted to take a picture to keep as a keepsake.
"It's lunchtime, go eat first, and come back to clean up as soon as you're done," Old Qian carefully instructed.
"Yes, Mr. Qian."
Gu Yan followed Li Peiyu closely without making a sound all the way to the restaurant.
Li Peiyu turned around impatiently, frowning as she said, "Why are you following me?"
Gu Yan replied with a wronged expression, "I gave you all my money, aren't you going to feed me?"
"Take it back," Li Peiyu said expressionlessly.
"No." Gu Yan looked at Li Peiyu with his clear eyes, like a pitiful little puppy, and murmured softly. His appearance made people feel sorry for him.
Li Peiyu, being a woman, immediately softened her heart and said, "Okay, let's eat together."
Then Li Peiyu thought to herself that she really had a sharp tongue.
"You sit down, I'll go get the food." Gu Yan pressed Li Peiyu down on the stool, took Li Peiyu's meal card, and went to queue up.
The entire restaurant erupted in excitement, with the female fans shouting, "Gu Yan, Gu Yan is here!"
"And Sister Yu, the two of them came together."
"What about Lin Wanwan? A love triangle loses its charm when one of the pieces is missing."
"Gu Yan actually went to get food. Let's see what he's eating, I want the same thing."
A short while later, Gu Yan returned with two full plates of rice.
Do you feed pigs?
"Yes, it was bought according to pig feed standards."
Actually, the cafeteria lady stopped shaking when she saw Gu Yan's good looks and gave him a portion for two instead of one.
A mischievous female student approached Gu Yan with a grin and asked sweetly, "Senior, can we sit next to you?"
“Of course, a table is meant to seat four people.” Before Gu Yan could speak, Li Peiyu answered first, with a seemingly casual smile on her face.
After sitting down as instructed, the junior asked with curiosity in her eyes, "So, seniors, are you two together?"
Upon hearing this, Gu Yan stopped eating and looked directly at Li Peiyu, as if waiting for her answer.
"No, no. It's all made up. After all, even if I stripped naked, Gu Yan wouldn't be interested in me," Li Peiyu quickly waved her hand to explain.
At this moment, Gu Yan's expression stiffened slightly, and he suddenly realized that she still held a grudge against him for rejecting her at the pool party that day.
With a slightly teasing look on his face, Li Peiyu said to the junior, "You can give me a love letter or confess your feelings if you want."
"I didn't mean to confess my feelings," the junior student said somewhat shyly.
Another female student said, "But, but, the hair tie on the senior's arm..."
Gu Yan had Li Peiyu's rhinestone hair tie on his arm, which was bright and eye-catching against his fair skin.
Gu Yan saw Li Peiyu glaring at him, and fearing she would take the hair tie back, he had no choice but to explain, "I stole this from someone, and I have a crush on him."
As he spoke, Gu Yan got up and went behind Li Peiyu, clumsily tying her hair up. Gu Yan continued, "Remember to return it to me later."
Anyone who sees this scene would surely have their own imagination.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before the talented students at S University wrote a voluminous contemporary romance novel of tens of thousands of words about Li Peiyu, Gu Yan, Lin Wanwan, and an unbelievable man. It was truly breathtaking.
