Chapter 146 Wang Boyang

Upon arriving in H City, Wang Boyang was overjoyed; the smile on his face never faded, as if he had won the lottery.

Gu Yan's visit to his home was something to be very happy about. In Wang Boyang's heart, this was more exciting than any other good thing.

The car slowly stopped downstairs at Wang Boyang's house. Wang Boyang took Gu Yan's suitcase out of the trunk and was about to help him push it when Gu Yan snatched it away.

Wang Boyang didn't think much of it and happily led Gu Yan forward. But after a few steps, he realized that Gu Yan hadn't followed.

"What's wrong, Gu Yan? Hurry up!" Wang Boyang called out anxiously as he turned around.

"I won't go up. I'll find a hotel to stay in, see you at the airport tomorrow." Gu Yan stood there, looking somewhat hesitant.

"What are you saying? Why do you want to stay in a hotel? Are you looking down on my house because it's not a big villa?" Wang Boyang's heart sank to the bottom of a lake. Gu Yan didn't even want to go to his house.

He was happy all the way for nothing.

"No, I didn't want to disturb your family reunion," Gu Yan quickly explained.

“No problem. My parents are very easy to get along with, they will definitely welcome you.” Wang Boyang said eagerly, his eyes full of sincerity.

"No, I'm not comfortable with it. I prefer to be alone." Gu Yan shook his head, looking somewhat troubled.

"Gu Yan, I can't possibly leave you at the hotel." Wang Boyang's voice rose a few decibels.

"Wang Boyang, I really don't want to go up there." Gu Yan's attitude was also very firm.

"A hotel is fine with me, I'll take you there. I'll come find you after I finish having dinner with my parents," Wang Boyang said helplessly.

"What are you doing, following me around like a shadow? I'm not a three-year-old, how could I possibly get lost?"

"I'm going to Y country with you anyway, can't you just come with me to meet my parents?" Wang Boyang's voice carried a hint of grievance. "Are you a little girl? Why are you being so dramatic?"

Gu Yan conceded, "Alright."

"Let's go." Wang Boyang's expression brightened as he snatched Gu Yan's suitcase.

Wang Boyang finally managed to bring Gu Yan into his home.

As soon as he entered, Wang Boyang's mother greeted him warmly. Seeing that her son had brought his friend back, her face beamed with a kind smile. She said, "Child, come in, come in. You must be exhausted from your journey." With that, she took the luggage from Gu Yan's hands and led him into the living room.

The younger sister also skipped and hopped out of the room, her big eyes staring curiously at Gu Yan.

Wang Boyang introduced, "This is my mom, and that's my sister, Tongtong, who just started her second year of high school. Mom, this is Gu Yan, my friend."

Wang Boyang's mother looked Gu Yan up and down, "This child is really good-looking."

Wang Boyang's younger sister, Tongtong, is cheerful and led Gu Yan to sit on the sofa. "Come on, Brother Gu Yan, sit here."

Gu Yan nodded and sat down. Wang Boyang sat down next to Gu Yan.

At this moment, Wang Boyang's mother hurriedly brought out fruit and snacks and placed them on the coffee table, inviting Gu Yan: "Child, don't be shy, make yourself at home and have something to eat."

Tongtong chimed in, "Brother Gu Yan, my mom's desserts are so delicious, you should try some."

Gu Yan, who was initially a little reserved, gradually relaxed in the warm atmosphere and said with a smile, "Thank you, Auntie, thank you, little sister."

While pouring tea for Gu Yan, his mother said, "Child, don't be so polite. We're all happy that Boyang has a friend like you."

Tongtong sat next to Gu Yan, blinking her eyes and asking questions curiously.

"Brother Gu Yan, are you and my brother in the same department?"

“No, I’m in the finance department,” Gu Yan replied with a smile.

"So how did you two meet?" Tongtong tilted her head, waiting for the answer with anticipation.

How did you meet? We used to be rivals in love. How can you even say that?

While peeling an orange, Wang Boyang chimed in, "We met while playing basketball."

Tongtong then asked, "Are you good at basketball?"

"Not bad, slightly better than your brother." Gu Yan couldn't help but raise the corners of his mouth.

"Wow, you're even better than my brother!" Tongtong exclaimed excitedly, her eyes filled with admiration and her long eyelashes fluttering. "You must have a lot of girlfriends, right?"

I don't have a girlfriend.

"Really? Do you have a boyfriend?"

Gu Yan remained silent.

Wang Boyang flicked his sister's forehead with his finger, "What are you saying? Where did you learn this nonsense?"

"A mess? That's discrimination, that's backwardness, that's pedantry."

Wang Boyang didn't reply, but handed the peeled orange to Gu Yan.

Gu Yan naturally took the orange and said with a smile, "You're so open-minded at such a young age?"

"Brother Gu Yan, let me tell you about what's going on in our class," Tongtong said, her face beaming with excitement.

Gu Yan ate an orange and listened to the gossip with great interest.

"In our class, there's a girl named A who likes a boy named B, and another boy named C who likes A. Later, in order to prevent A and B from getting together, C started dating B himself. A was no longer involved."

Gu Yan looked incredulous. "Is high school romance really this explosive?"

"There's something even more explosive coming. Want to hear it?"

Tongtong then told several more shocking secrets about her school.

As Gu Yan listened, he accepted the fruit and nuts that Wang Boyang occasionally handed him, all of which were already peeled.

Gu Yan was completely unaware that there was anything wrong with Wang Boyang serving him like this, because they had lived together for a month during the summer vacation and he was used to being served by Wang Boyang like this.

But her younger sister, Tongtong, saw it all.

His brother was so attentive, but Gu Yan just ignored him.

His brother's love was completely unrequited.

The mother couldn't help but scold, "Stop talking! What do you know at your age? You're just copying what you see on TV."

Tongtong playfully stuck out her tongue and continued nonchalantly, "Come on, let me share my secret treasure with you."

After saying that, she rushed into her room to get her tablet. Before she even reached the sofa, she saw her older brother handing peanuts to Gu Yan.

Gu Yan quickly waved his hands and said, "I can't eat anymore, I really can't eat anymore."

Wang Boyang, however, persisted and insisted that he eat more.

Seeing this, Tongtong couldn't help but say, "Brother, if you keep feeding him, will Brother Gu Yan be able to eat anything later?"

Wang Boyang then awkwardly put the peanut into his mouth.

Tongtong sat down next to Gu Yan with a grin, her fingers deftly scrolling through the tablet screen, opening a picture album. Then she and Gu Yan sat very close together to look at it.

Inside were photos of men full of tension, as well as ambiguous photos of two men with their arms around each other's shoulders, some real and some anime-style.

Gu Yan stared in disbelief, unsure how to react.

Wang Boyang only glanced at it a few times.

None of these people are as good-looking as Gu Yan. If Gu Yan posed like that and took a picture like that...

Wang Boyang's face instantly turned red to the roots of his ears.

Tongtong asked earnestly, "Brother Gu Yan, what do you think of the same?"
